We arrived 45 minutes before the tee time so we could get in some range time and hit some putts. The check-in with Ryan was NOT a positive experience. The same Ryan I spoke to on the phone when I called almost 3 weeks before. I told him I was playing 9 holes SOLO and would have a rider, he confirmed there was a Vet discount. The rate he quoted worked but when I checked in he told me there was a $45.00 rider fee. I told him that was not mentioned when I called ahead of time. He said 'well, the person you spoke to should have told you'. I told him 'YOU were that person and I have my notes if you want to look at them. By now everyone in the Pro Shop is looking and I could tell Michelle was getting uncomfortable so I just paid it. Then we go to get a cart and we can't find an attendant. I start to put my clubs on a cart and then someone says 'you can't use that cart'. The young man proceeds to start taking my clubs off with no explanation. Then he puts them on another cart and Michelle and I are just looking at each other in disbelief. We finally get it all sorted and head to the drive range which is adjacent to the Starter. When I asked about the range on the phone, it was never mentioned you can only hit off mats and NO drivers allowed. We got paired up with a son and mother from Columbia, SC who had played there before. The course is very nice, lots of bunkers and water. In good condition for mid-February and the pace of play was good. I would not return, there are too many other better options and the Marriott Grande Vista in Orlando is a better choice IMO. After my return home, I got in contact with the GM and explained the unpleasant experience in the Pro Shop and got a refund for the over charge.

About 5 years ago was my first visit to Lighting Strikes Pro Shop, and I've never gone anywhere else since! I bought a new ball in my hometown over Thanksgiving break, and a pro shop there measured my hand and drilled it. The fit was absolutely terrible and needed to be fixed. When I got home to Orlando, I brought my new ball to Mike and he fixed it for me on the spot. He remeasured my hand, put a plug into the ball and re-drilled the holes. It fits like a glove now. He spent the time to make it perfect and watched me throw it a few times to make sure everything was okay before I left. After that experience, I've gone to him ever since. The shop has everything you need, and if they don't, they'll more than likely order it for you. The prices are competitive and the service is impeccable! Not only do they sell, bags, balls, shoes, tape, etc., but they also offer great advice. They're always happy to let me know what ball would best fit me when I want a new one. Mike also offers lessons, if you're needing some help on the lanes. Anytime someone wants to buy new stuff, I will always recommend Lighting Strikes Pro Shop to them, hands down.

My first experience with this store is buying my own pair of shoes around late 2015. Mike was very helpful and I knew very little about bowling equipment. I was curious about what made all the bowling balls along the wall special compared to house balls and he took the time to explain cover stocks, core, and the importance of getting a ball drilled to fit your hand properly. A few weeks later, there was a Black Friday promotion in the store. I was curious to see what having my own ball would be like so I bit the bullet and bought a used bowling ball. Mike took the time to take measurements and did a great job of drilling the ball. Knowing that was my first time, he also took some time to go over the basics of rolling a ball. I realized I could use some improvement and still had much to learn. I inquired about getting a lesson and scheduled a lesson with Mike. That's when he went into more detail about my footwork, timing, and some of the basics. Well... long story short, it's been less than 2 years since my first visit into the shop and I've come back to get 6 more balls, another pair of shoes, utilizing ball cleaning services, and more lessons. I still receive the great service that I experienced since the first day and greeted by name now. The store offers everything you will need, such as shoes, balls, bags, towels, shirts, gloves, tapes, drilling, cleaning, etc. If there is something that they don't have in the store, they can order it and have it in quickly (usually by the next day).

He took the time to explain everything, helped us get set up properly, and made sure we felt comfortable and confident. However the legs where wrong. I spoke to the Clermont store to associates Chris, Julie and the Manger trying to get the correct legs. The manager and I have tried several times on Tuesday and Wednesday to get a hold of Home Delivery which send you to a voicemail where the voicemail is full, so you can't leave a message, obviously no one is getting calls returned. On Wednesday I spoke to the Manger. He stayed that he could to have a new wedge to me on the May 2nd, while I did not refuse that, I do have family coming in prior to that and needed to be able to use the sectional. I mean really how hard is it to get me the right legs prior to Friday. They wanted to deliver either the legs or a new wedge, the manager wasn't really sure which one, on Friday when no one was home. My husband is home Thursday, but that day couldn't be guaranteed. Seriously! The managers solution was to take the legs from the floor model so I could have it in time for use when family came in. I told him fine and that my husband would be there after work. When my husband arrived the legs were not ready and Julie had to call the manager to fine out if it ok. They did it with an attitude! I was told that it wouldn't work properly due to the different shifters/cassettes on my bike. Having run it that way for years, I have never had a problem. The guy got a bit upset and pulled out the old standby "Well I've worked on DI2 since they came out so I know what I'm talking about." But apparently he didn't because I brought it to my usual shop in WG and they fixed it in no time.
