Not once did an employee greet us or ask if we needed help with anything! Lots of bullshitting with each other at the practice tees however. More employees than customers at this point. The guy working the register right by the door gave us the brush off as well. This shift was manned by incompetent ignorant pompous clowns. Might as well use that motivational wheel in the training room for fire starter. Need a training film how not to attract customers and make sales--- video a shift at Altamonte. Avoid at all costs

The new pavilion-style covered bays, enhanced lighting, and cozy lounge-style seating make practice so much more comfortable. Have to admit, seeing a burger listed at $19 both lunch and dinner did make me pause in deciding to go, but seeing it was an award winning burger, I figured next time I am craving one I would consider it. Weeks later I was in the mood for an iron boost and decided to try it, price and all. I chose the Above Par and man was it ever. The bacon is thick and crispy, the goat cheese gushes open at your first bite and the mix of burger, fig jam, arugula, goat cheese and bacon is so flavorful I was so happy I came to visit. The restaurant overlooks the Golf course which seems really nice. The vibe reminded me of going to lunch with my Aunt at her country club in Rancho Santa Fe, CA. I sat outside and the ambiance, service and views were so relaxing, if I could have eaten more, I would have picked a dessert to extend my stay. Definitely going back.

The city took over this location and I kind of expected it to be in the same condition as the Winter Park 9. Nope. It was not all bad but the core portion was horrible. Newly renovated snack bar and bar. Nicely done. Nice sitting area and the bathrooms best I have seen at a local course. I mean real nice!!! The staff were very nice but there was an odor of burnt plastic inside. Carts worked well but their geo fencing made no sense. I had multiple times it shut down well away from greens and tee boxes. Number one has the range down the right side. Wouldn't let me get within twenty feet of the marked out of bounds as I searched for my ball. Also how about sending someone out to police all the range balls on number one. Another tip. Have your mowers work backwards so each group only deals with it on one hole? We had a mower escort for three holes as we finished the front nine. Found it weird they were cutting tee boxes at 1pm. It wasn't wet. PRO SUGGESTION: how about a discounted rate until your greens get fixed. Many course give a discount during aeration season. Highlight was the guys I caught on two and waved me up to join them. Pro Tip: Tuesday has a ladies league so get out early or not at all. 5000 yards should not take four hours. Pro tip: I would skip this place until they get their greens figured out.

So imagine my delight when I found out there was one down the street from my job. I was looking for weights, dumbells to be specific. I didn't want to pay full price. I remembered that PIAS had dumbbells back in the day. I called and a nice gentleman, Mike, told me they were open and they had weights. I came in around 6:30pm. They were assisting another customer so I waited patiently with my mask on. More about that later. I inquired why one set of dumbbells were more than others(not weight related). Mike said the insulated black weights are commercial grade and the iron ones are not. The iron weights are at or around $1.45 a pound and the commercials grade is $2.00 a pound. Great information and it allowed me to make an informed decision. I bought a pair of 15# & 25#. There on signs on the weights that clearly show the prices. After Mike rang up the sale, as a courtesy he carted the product to my SUV and put them in the way back. The reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because they weren't wearing masks and didn't require masks. They did have a sign outside saying they clean thoroughly and recommended we practice safe distancing. Other than that they have great selections for baseball, cleats. Golf and workout equipment. I will be back. You can sell your unused sports equipment to them. Just call ahead first before you lug it out of storage.
