Not the case here, the manager is even rude here. It was definitely a bit intimidating walking into the store as an actual beginner to the game; but was finally able to get the staff's attention for some help (it was fairly busy on a February Saturday morning). The ask was pretty simple - I need a full set of clubs and I understood that I'd probably need custom stiff, steel shafted irons and driver based on my background. After whiffing on a few balls in the simulator, Rich was finally able to get me to a point where I was squaring the ball up nicely. We bonded pretty quickly after some good trash talk and eventually he helped me find a full set after a couple hours after explaining to me what I needed for a player with my swing. It was honestly a two hour long personal lesson in golf; and it was really appreciated. Rich and his team did a great job in making me feel comfortable and getting into what I think are the right clubs for me (grabbed the new M4s, can't wait to try them). The extra time spent will go a long way to getting me on the course & potentially signed up for a few lessons at the store. I would absolutely recommend this location to my friends and hope others have a similar experience in the future. read more

I read an article the other day in Forbes magazine that said "statistics show that close to 80% of all repeat business is based on positive customer service experiences and not necessarily the product or services offered." Sadly, my experience at Golf Galaxy in Burlington with an arrogant gentleman named Brian (spelling? Who cares? The guy is a dick) who works in the golf service department was far from good. I went in with a 6 iron I'd bent and began to inquire about getting it re-shafted. When he began describing the re-shafting process and cost he divided to make two condescending comments to me. The first was "you look confused" when I was pondering whether I should just wait to buy a new set next season. It's all in the tone, BRIAN! No need to talk down to me bud. Plus, there was no one else in the store, so you definitely could've exercised a little patience with the only customer you had in the joint. Strike 1. Strike 2 was when he made his next condescending comment seconds later about the cost of the re-shafting the 6 iron. "I know, it ain't cheap" came out of his mouth real fast, and again with a tone that made me want start right back with him. BRIAN, the money isn't the issue. I make great money treating people well at bar close to where you work. Come find me sometime and I'll teach you how to be a nice boy. You're a dick, you spoke to me like a dick, you probably treat a lot of customers like the dick that you are, and it's sad. I feel like my review of Golf Galaxy is overdue. These guys are fantastic! They know their stuff, that's for sure. I came in a few months ago to have most of my clubs re-gripped. They were running a special where if you got 10 or more clubs re-gripped, installation was free. So that was a nice deal. They asked me how I liked my grips applied, as if I were a professional. Did I want an extra wrap of tape, off center, etc. Even though I just wanted them put straight on, I was fairly impressed with their attention to detail. Just yesterday I went back to have my remaining 4 clubs regripped. I asked how long it would take, thinking I might be able to pick them up the following day. The Golf Galaxy rep said, "do you have 10 minutes?" I was very happy that they were going to regrip these clubs right on the spot. Very impressed! Other than the grips, these guys always hold special club demonstrations. I know they probably think I'm that guy that just shows up to hit a club because they offer a dozen premium golf balls for doing so, but eventually, I end up purchasing a lot of the items that I try there. I know for a fact that I had asked my wife to order me a club that I had tried in previous months at their store, and it's in my bag right now! You really can't beat their demos. I think two different times in this past year alone I went in there to swing new Taylormade clubs, and they offered you 1 Lethal ball for every yard further you hit the new club than the old one in your bag. It's a good time swinging the new clubs and seeing how the technology can help your game. Not to mention getting about $45 dollars worth of premium golf balls just for taking a few minutes to try out their new $400 golf club. Granted, I wait until that club is $199 before I buy it... but without the demos I probably would never have the urge to purchase those clubs! They also have great deals on apparel. I always see 2 for 1 golf shirts, especially towards the end of the golf season. To sum this all up, Golf Galaxy is the best! In an age where you can just shop online, it's nice to see that there is still a place where you can go and physically touch the products, use them, try them out, and ask professionals their opinions of the products. read more

I honestly cannot say enough good things about these guys!! I had gone there and bought a new set of TaylorMade RSI2 irons. This was brand new technology and in the vacuum of trying them in the cages, I loved them. After playing them for about 60 days, I ran into serious variances in distances and at first I thought it was me. So I dismissed it. I bought some new grips and brought the clubs back in to be regripped. Dan immediately noticed an issue with 2 of my irons being caved. He informed ME that there was an issue with the new design of these clubs. Having spent $1100 on clubs I wanted to get rid of these clubs and get a different set. They went out of their way to get a lefty fit kit rushed in for the Titleist clubs I was interested in. Then fit me for the clubs. They told me it was going to be a month before I could get the new set. They let me keep the old set to play through the heart of the season until my Titleist's could get shipped. Then, they took back the defective TaylorMade's and gave me a full refund. Jeff the GM, Dan the AM, and every person I have come in contact with here has just been superb in every facet. I visited Golf Galaxy in Burlington Mass tonight and spent no less than 30 minutes being ignored. I stood at the rear of the store at the desk (with my hands in my pockets waiting for an employee to finish with another gentleman), wandered through the clubs aimlessly, and stood at the putting area while the same employee from behind the desk engaged in smalltalk with another customer. At one point, I actually followed the employee towards the front of the store, where he asked someone who had just walked through the door if THEY needed any assistance. I had gone in to inquire about being fitted for clubs and I had certainly made my presence known, but wasn't even politely acknowledged. Apparently if you aren't over the age of 50 and wearing khaki pants, you aren't worth their time. I'll spend my money elsewhere. read more

The worst false advertising and customer experience. I unfortunately viewed this on the website: https://www.golfgalaxy.com/s/golf-galaxy-platinum-fitting. When I called the Burlington Office I was told they don't offer Platinum Fitting anymore and it is $30 for a fitting and you are not charged if you buy a club. It was explained to me that the fitting could suggest new grips or changes to current clubs. When I arrived for the fitting I was shown three drivers $450-500. I said that was not something I was interested in at which time. I was told that was the only way the fittings are done. I was also told the Platinum Fitting was a spring one time thing (again, false advertising). When I suggested maybe a irons fitting would be better since it wasn't in my budget to buy the $500 driver, to which I was told a set of irons would cost $1,000. I explained what I had been lead to understand the fitting would involve the Golf Galaxy person said that would be more like lessons. I actually was originally interested in the lessons included in the Platinum Fitting, but lessons were not even offered as an alternative since the fitting was now per this Golf Galaxy person not an option because my budget. I was told to come back when I was ready to upgrade my clubs. I will not be coming back to a Golf Galaxy ever again and especially advise others to avoid the Burlington Golf Galaxy. read more

Golf pros provide horrible service. Went in to get my clubs re gripped and found the staff to be both unknowledgeable and unhelpful.

Had to replace a grip on a wedge. Person did a terrible job in removing off the tape from the original grip before putting on the new one. Pieces of tape stick out at the end of the grip. Also, needed my putter shaft re-apoxy'd. The guy misaligned the shaft with my putter. Had to come back the next day and they took another 2 days just to fix that. I'm going to look for a different place for golf repairs and re-grippings. read more

I also have to disagree with Andrew. These guys were great, Especially Sean. It's been many years since I actively played and have recently gotten back in the game. I had no idea where to begin as i needed a complete set up from Driver through wedges. I came into the store multiple times and hit a bunch of clubs, I gave Sean my price point and he never tried to up sell me, even steered me away from a more expensive set of irons that wouldn't do much for my game. Same with the Drivers. He was patient and very knowledgeable and guided me in the right direction.Rich is another great guy who helped me with a few other things. Andrew (and anyone else reading this review).... I 100% disagree with your review. I just got home from the Burlington store and had a gentleman by the name of Shawn help me out. He initially helped me regrip my putter and I asked about the fitting process and pricing etc for putters and decided to try it out since I have never been fit for a putter. Shawn (who is certified by the PGA)went over the basic fitting process with me and I asked if he had time today to help me out with it. I could tell he was busy, but asked me to hold on a few minutes and he made time in his schedule right then. I asked if people get the fitting done when looking at new putters or if the majority is people getting their own putters adjusted properly....? Shawn didn't try to sell me a new putter (like some sales people do just to make a sale), but he took more of a consultative approach. I was impressed with his knowledge of the fitting and I could tell he knew what he was talking about. (I am very knowledgable with regards to golf as I have been playing for 24 years). The best part of my visit was the fact that Shawn took extra time and essentially gave me a free putting lesson. My grip and stroke were fine according to him, however, my alignment and set up was slightly off. He gave me a few tips and spent about 30 on the alignment etc. I was really greatful and he could have easily asked me to come back for a lesson to further improve my overall putting. The fitting was $20 and I feel I got a free lesson that could have cost about $50! I highly recommend this store and I plan on reaching out to Shawn in the near future for additional assistance with my game. I hope he has availability for lessons because I have been looking for a teaching pro that is as knowledgable and down to earth as Shawn. To be honest, I have always been sceptical about teaching pro's that work in corporate shops like this, but again, Shawn really impressed me and was great. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There were only a handful of great employees that worked at Burlington Golf Galaxy and they are gone, including the former golf pro that worked there, which his name shall be kept confidential to protect him. I remember when this store first opened, there was a lot of buzz, good employees and the atmosphere was great, but then the bad experiences started and here's the list: 1. Golf Galaxy has something called a platinum fitting, where they will fit you from top to bottom with equipment and I came across some money to spend so I scheduled one expecting there great golf pro, well that didn't happen I was given some punk sales associate who thought he knew EVERYTHING about golf and the first thing he asks me is "Why do you want to trade in this great, still looks pretty good.". Is that the attitude you have with someone who wants to drop close to 1,500 dollars in your store?!?!?!? I think not, but I informed him that I was looking for some long term gear and I asked about his fitting credentials and as I expected he didn't have any. Well at the time I wasn't that great (I was getting fitted when I was a 19 handicap, after lessons I'm now a 11) and the sales associate took NOOOOOOOOOOOOO interest in anything that was going on, and answering my questions about stiff or regular flex clubs, HAHA his answer was lame, he just used the speeds on the screen instead of using other factors that a PGA PRO would've used, well to say I bought the irons I wanted but I wasn't pleased. 2. A couple of months later in the summer I was looking to purchase a driver and I wanted to get the Titleist 910D2, and the sales associate their (who I later called MR Titleist) informed me that my game isn't strong enough for the driver, wow buddy you have vision that looks into the past and future that says how good my game is. 3. The final straw that made me dislike this store and NOW the company is that the golf pro couldn't do more than 20 lessons a month. WHY GOLF GALAXY, which is owned by Dicks Sporting Goods. You are making about 49.99 a 1/2 lesson and according a former manager there stated that there pro could be doing anywhere from 40-50 lessons a month, but corporate won't let him, so your okay with 1000.00 in profit from lessons, compared to the potential of 2000-2500 a month and make a lot of customers, oh I don't know.... HAPPY!!! STAY AWAY. Give your money to a local golf store or local small business, don't give this store or any more of your hard earned money, they don't deserve ONE DIME!!! read more

The problem is that there is nobody to help you. I was there once a year ago and tried to buy some gloves and gave up when nobody would come to the register to ring me up after 10 minutes. I asked two employees who said someone would be right there but nobody ever showed up. I recently acquired a 6 iron which I like but it has different grips than the rest of my bag and wanted it redone to match. Nobody was at the service desk. Somebody finally came and pointed to a wall full of grips and told to pick one and they'd be with me eventually. When I said I wanted the same one as on the other club they said "There are the xxx brand - go find one that looks like it." Of course there are plenty that look like it but they are in different sizes! At that point I decided to leave. If he had even said that he was busy but could help me next I would have browsed around and waited but he made it clear he wasn't interested in my business. I went to GolfSmith instead and the man at the service desk looked at the writing on the grip, pulled an identical one out of the bin, and put it on the club.
