Super cool places!! Definitely worth checking out!! Train ride was awesome, and the mine shack was so thrilling!

We had not been to this little Western ghost town before, but it has been at least 12-ish years. We decided to go visit the little ghost town (tourist site) and have an early dinner at the Saloon. This was actually a real mine and town back in the 1800s. We took the mine your, which was short, but interesting and informative. Made me glad was I wasn't a miner! We also took the haunted bordello tour. The bottom floor of the bordello is a gift shop, so we were only on the second floor, which is quite small. The pull the curtains to make the place dark, light a candle, and begin with the ghost accounts of the place. They hand out a couple of ghost hunting told, and take you to the two rooms where ghosts have been reported. It was fun! We also visited the mystery shack, which is a building built in two different angles so it looks like gravity is defied (water running toward, etc ). It was really fun, but kind of disorienting and kind of a workout. I almost feel twice. There are little shops with lots of Arizona-themed items (like paperweights with scorpions in them), cowboy hats and boots, and Western shirts. After going into all the shops, we went to the saloon for dinner. This place is very touristy, but we had a fun afternoon. read more

Let me start by saying we've been here before and always had a good experience but some things are definitely slipping. It started with the mine tour. The young woman giving the tour was apathetic at best during the tour. She also completely skipped the elevator ride, saying it was too crowded. That removes all illusion of actually "going down in the mine". The kids with us asked "why didn't we go down in the mine!?" Then the mystery shacks tour guide seemed like he was doing us a favor by even being there. Sorry, did we disturb your day here guy? We ate in the restaurant. Food was ok, expensive, but ok. Service was good. Don't appreciate the political bumper stickers on the wall but whatever. Lastly it was two days before Christmas and nary a decoration to be found. Not a bit deal here but it would have been nice to see any holiday decorations. Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa-I'd take it. read more

We stopped in to walk around and visit some of the little shops on our way through the area. We didn't do the ghost tour or mine tour, but may go back another time for those. There were quite a few people walking around the little town, perusing the goods in the shops along the way. We found some nice jewelry for a decent price and enjoyed talking to the workers in the stores. There are some food options as well. read more

Had so much fun didn't have to soend money to go here but I did of course the many cute souvenier shops how could I not??? We ate Lunch at the Miners Grill it was nice and cheap despite the long line we didnt wait too long. I can't wait to come back here and maybe do the mine tour and train ride if it was less windy had to keep cleaning dust off my lens. I really enjoyed it and so did my Aunt and Grandma. read more

This is what I would call a ghost town themed strip mall. It has a lot of old west themes and you can get everything from ice cream to cowboy hats here. It's a fun way to spend an afternoon and on the hour there is a "gunfight" in the middle of town that is put on by volunteers who are around the area in period clothing and gear. There's no fee to get in, and parking is pretty plentiful but it's a dirt parking lot, so if that's a problem you may want to skip it. It's also on a hilly area so again, plan ahead. Flip flops probably aren't a good choice if coming here. That being said, it's a good time and kids and adults will like it. read more

This place is pretty cute for a short stop. We came with the expectation and knowledge this place was built as a tourist attraction. There's food options, cute gift shops, and a short show that happens every few hours. It was worth the stop since we weren't far away but I wouldn't drive over an hour to visit per se. Saw some riding horses, the train, and playing at the arcade. We didn't spend any money at all so it was a fun hour and quick visit. read more

What a fun spot that was made even better by allowing our pups to join us for the fun. My friend and I were on a trip with our two senior dogs, a pug and a dachshund, and they enjoyed experiencing all the sights and sounds from the comfort of their stroller. We weren't able to do everything with the dogs but we were able to do enough. They watched the stunt show with us, got lunch at the Miner's Grill and browsed some of the shops. read more

When you're in the desert, you might as well visit a Ghost Town. What I love about this is it is free to explore. There are so many buildings to see such as a church, museum, alpine slide and a store that provides everything you would want for a souvenir. I highly recommend trying the prickly pear lemonade. This was a great find while traveling in AZ. We got there just after they opened for the day. It's pretty much self guided but there are folks around tht will help or answer questions. We got to meet Bob the proclaimed mayor. Quite a gruff character but also very nice. We took the train ride around the place plus walked all around. Great place for photos of which I took a lot. This was such a cool and unique place to visit. I'm from Florida and it's not often I get to visit a ghost town. Maybe it was a little over the top but I thought the theming was awesome. It is completely free to enter and just walk around. However, you had the option to do other activities or eat at the saloon or grill. We did the mine tour, which was pretty boring and why I take off one star. The food and ice cream at the miners grill was really good and decently priced. I would recommend getting there right at opening as it wasn't crowded and let us get some cool pictures of the saloon with no people in our pictures. It got really crowded around noon. read more

Brought my family from out of town here and we all had a great time! I had never visited so I didn't know what to expect but was blown away by how unique this place is. It was pretty busy and we circled the lot a few times for a parking spot. Once we parked, we headed on in. We purchased tickets for the mine tour, train ride, and the sideways house and my cousins also opted in for the zip lining. The mine tour was informative and the guide kept us informed. The train ride was also informative and very scenic as the views of the Superstition Mountains are breathtaking. The sideways house was ehh not worth it in my opinion. The gun show was fun and pretty entertaining. We stopped by a few of the shops and all the workers we interacted with were nice. We got ourselves some ice cream and it was really good. There were plenty of places to sit at and a lot of people watching to be done. Overall we had fun and we spent almost all day there. Definitely worth checking out! read more

We had such a great time at this amazing attraction that is a DO NOT MISS in my book! We took a tour of a make shift mine to see what it was like for the prospectors search for the infamous gold during the rush. Our tour guide Callan I think was her name was so informative and really helped to put us in the shoes of the miners. This is an interesting tourist attraction. They've got plenty of buildings to check out, gift shops, food, etc. They also have attractions such as museums and gold mine shaft tour. It's pretty fun, expect to be here for at least 2 hours. read more

Cute town to stop by. We've eaten at the restaurant before and it wasn't bad! There was live music. Were charged a mandatory gratuity when we went to lunch for 4 adults and 3 babies for a "large party"--babies didn't get any food since they're babies lol... so we were kind of frustrated with that. Came back again to do old timey photos. Weren't bad priced at all. You get the option to dress western or old gangster with different props and sets. Costumes for all ages and sizes. The little shops are super cute inside. We got a hat from the hat shop at the entrance. Not huge by any means but fun for sure! read more

If you love Ghost Towns it's a fun stop. If you live in Arizona you should be able to say you've at-least visited once. I remember coming here as a teenager and loved it. Of course that was a very long time ago. To see it as an adult brought some nostalgia back, but also realizing it's all fake and redone as a tourist attraction. Of course the town was real, mining was done nearby, but no original building exist. It's fun to walk around and check out different buildings (mine was the chapel), but we were done within 45 minutes. Prices are steep for most items. If you're into this type of thing it's worth the stop. read more

Did a family day here and all the times we have lived in AZ this was our first time exploring and the adults and kids had so much fun. We did all the attractions they had to offer and spent almost half the day here. It's definitely a place to come check out at least once. There are some shops and places to eat as well. I've lived in Arizona now for almost 9 years and this was the first time that I was able to get here to the Goldfield Ghost Town and considering that I'm from Southern California originally I wasn't super impressed from the other Ghost Towns that I've been to. Now the pro of coming here they don't charge you for admission or parking but I'm sure that's going to be next. The bathroom at the Mammoth restaurant was so filthy with dirty diapers on the floor I'm honestly glad that we didn't eat there. They make up the cost on souvenirs, food and the attractions. Now I honestly have to admit the employees in the stores were friendly and polite but honestly Pioneer Town or Calico is the same concept. So it wasn't a bad experience it just wasn't for me. read more

I went here with my husband last weekend after finding it on a scratch off Arizona adventure card. We had never heard about this place so it was really cool to explore it. It reminded me a lot of 'old Tucson' in Tucson Arizona, but maybe on a larger scale (I can't remember I haven't been there in a while). Anyway, we did the combo tour which was $30 for three things: the mining tour, the mystery shack, and the train ride. We got there shortly after the site opened around 11 AM & when we got there, it was really a ghost town, barely anyone around. However, after we finished all of the three tours which lasted roughly an hour the town was packed. They do shootout shows every hour on the town site, which people gather to see. They're pretty short-lived probably only five minutes or so. There's a lot of of different shops to look at which was cool, but it was honestly so many people visiting that it was difficult to navigate around crowds and people which kind of took away from the experience. It was still a really cool day getting to learn a new place and the tour guides from the mystery shack (with the caregiver) to the mining tour (Nate I think it was) were amazing. He gave such great information and was fun as well! There was also a man in the fudge section of the general store with amazing customer service. The woman in the hat store also was very helpful when we first got there. I was very impressed with this place. I would definitely recommend checking this place out! read more

Even though my fiancé and I have resided in AZ for over a decade, we hadn't done the tours at Goldfield in all that time. However, this past month we decided to try something different for a date, and we were pleasantly surprised. Each attraction we went to had its own charm with lots of history that is presented by very knowledgable staff. On our last attraction of the day, the mystery shack, we had a very lively presenter by the name of Caretaker, who made the experience fun and interactive. We stopped here because my husband enjoys mining shows, and we thought it would be a fun family activity. After spending so much on places that haven't been worth it, it was nice that this spot didn't charge an entry fee. We did pay for the 20‑minute mine tour, and my husband found it informative. We also bought a small bag for my daughter to pan for rocks, and she really enjoyed that part. I do wish there were more panning stations for younger kids, since the area was pretty crowded. The small shops were fun to walk through, but there wasn't anything particularly interesting inside. Overall, a decent stop and good for families looking for something low‑cost to do. read more

A fun day spent at Goldfield ghost town. Buy the 3 attraction tickets as it is worth it. You can get some great photos of the Superstition Mountains while riding the train. Everyone was very nice with a laid back attitude. Take a ride up highway 88 to tortilla flats and see some great scenery. Try the fudge as it is homemade and only $4. Surprisingly busy and jolly for a ghost town. Family friendly pitstop although most attractions required additional entry fees. The parking lot was free and most crowded at noon. The buildings were rustic but clean. The entire town took a few minutes to completely traverse with a notable prison and church in between. There were free gunfight shows every hour from 12-4PM. Otherwise there were tours, museums, and mining for additional costs. I wanted to visit the reptile museum but it was unfortunately closed for the day. The railroad and mine tours seemed to have the most traction while the other exhibits were ignored. The mine tour was short but I enjoyed hearing about the town's background and mine recreation. It was worth the $12 adult entry fee for 30 minutes of entertainment. Zip lining, horseback riding, and longer tours were also available although it wasn't as easily accessible from the main town. There was a saloon, coffee shop and ice cream shop for refreshments. Most the exhibits had entry fees of $12 or less with cheaper prices for children. Goldfield Ghost Town is best for families, especially with the gold panning, mystery shack and railroad. I don't regret stopping by but the experience seemed more entertaining for a younger crowd. I wished the website was more up to date and the stores were more consistent with their hours. The gift shop was a bit expensive and knick knacks weren't memorable. If this spot happens to be on the road, I'd stop by but I wouldn't drive out to experience the town. read more

If there's even a chance a place is haunted, you can bet I'm there, ready to investigate (or at least spook myself for fun). This is a great spot to wander through old buildings and get a glimpse of life in the 1890s--minus the lack of indoor plumbing and questionable medical practices. Yes, it's a tourist trap, but it's the kind you don't mind falling into. There's plenty to do, from mine tours and railroad rides to zip-lining for those who like their history with a side of adrenaline. It's free to get in, but the attractions will cost you. My son and I took a ride on the railroad--$12 for me, $8 for him--and braved the zip line for $14 each. Worth every penny, even if my wallet is now the only thing feeling haunted. Bonus points for having a place to eat and, of course, a saloon--because nothing says "authentic Old West experience" like sipping a drink and pretending you're in a showdown (with the weekend crowds). Don't go in it until you say a protection prayer.
