First impressions of Pinal County:…read more Employees are nice...seems not all Recorder's office employees are well-versed in which forms of ID are accepted by Pinal County. Waiting on hold takes a while...I was 13th in the queue. Herein lies my first experience: I followed the instructions for registering to vote in Arizona when you don't have an Arizona driver's license or ID. I went to the Recorder's office in person so they could photocopy my ENHANCED ID and the employee told me it was sufficient. I was told I would receive my voter registration card in the mail. A week later, instead of a registration card, I received a denial letter stating my ID wasn't an enhanced ID -- even though it is. When I called the recorder's office, I was told they only accept enhanced licenses from five specific states, my previous state not being one of them. This requirement is not stated anywhere on their website or on the denial form. It should clearly say that only enhanced IDs from certain states are accepted AND list those states. I'm busy with a move and don't have time to make another trip to the office to provide different documentation. Pinal County needs to communicate much more clearly.

Currently, they have Find the Superstition Mountain Cougar's Shadow Contest which encourages the community to go out to a local business to find the Find the Superstition Mountain Cougar's Shadow. Not only is it cool that in the month of March and September this shadow occurs, but love showcasing it with a contest like this. I know I personally made it an effort to come out to two businesses that I may not have if it weren't for this contest. If you are a year-round resident, be on the lookout for their shop local card as it provides a discount to select local businesses during the summer months. The card is typically $2 and so worth it! My wife is very easy going and was just asking for a receipt (proof of drop off) from your employee. For whatever reason your employee went on a verbal full out foul language assault on my wife. Language used f#ck you, numerous time, c#nt, and some derogatory reference to age all for asking politely for a tracking receipt. Your business should not be serving the public and I will be spreading the word. If I could give this a negative 5 stars I would. Use any other place but here. By the way my wife went down the street to the Walgreens and dropped off the package there. Everybody was polite and when she asked for proof of drop off the explained the procedure and verified in store, what a difference. I will be letting FedEx know.

The Superstition Mountain Lost Dutchman Museum, is set on a 15-acre parcel in the shadow of the…read morebeautiful Superstition Mountains. The museum, itself, showcases the Apache origins of the land while the outbuildings include what remains of the Apacheland Movie Ranch (it largely suffered in a fire in 2004), a working 20-stamp gold mill, the chapel Elvis filmed "Charro!" in, the Apacheland barn, a historical model railroad, Western storefronts, a gift shop/bookstore, and a labeled nature trail. Things of note The Apacheland Barn houses a number of horse-drawn buggies and carts used in 17 television series, 29 full-length feature films, and hundreds of commercials filmed on the site. The buildings scattered around the land include a few Old West scenes and full-size dioramas, complete with plenty of mannequins depicting the scenes. The "crown jewel" is the "Elvis Chapel" - a mini-museum and wedding chapel dedicated to "the King" and his unique western movie, "Charro!" also filmed on site. It is a GREAT way to spend a couple of hours!

I think it is definitely worth the trip out and it was interesting enough, until my son strayed from the path and a cholla stung him. I took several photos. It was a gorgeous day in March.
