I got locked out of my car. I was having a hard time to reach my insurance, it was dark so I called Golden Way, they came out to my rescue right away! Ever in need of roadside assistance they are who to call! read more

They had me wait for 2 hours and 30 mins after initial call from tow driver's voicemail at 10:15am saying he was coming in 30 mins. Called driver after v/m but his tel# was their ofc tel# so you can't even talk directly to the driver. I waited an hour then called ofc, was told she'll have driver call me back. No call rec'd. Called again after 2.5 hrs and was transferred to this guy who's said he was the driver who called )but he had a diff accent, plus he was very rude). he said he was 10 mins from me on his v/m (told him I can show him his v/m message saying 30 mins. He said no, he said he was the tow mgr and that bec i didn't p-up he cancelled the tow.??? Who does that, if they say 30 mins, you wait. If they're canceling bec they got v/m which was also questionable, you leave that on the v/m so it's clear. He was a total jerk, he yelled at me and told me to stop cutting him off every time (he lied) and then asked if I still want him to come and be here in 20 mins? I told him NO! Unbelievable!!! So rude and deceitful. I can't believe they stay in business. read more

I ordered a car tow, and the driver jump-started my car to switch it to neutral. It was really unpleasant to look at my bill and find an extra $100 fee for the jump-start, which is a service I never asked for and could have done myself. Here are the reasons I gave Golden Way Towing one star: 1. The service is not what I asked for. I was towing the car to service shop to change the battery. 2. I wasn't told about the $100 extra cost beforehand when the driver offered to do a jump-start to switch the car to neutral for towing. I could have charged the battery and switched to neutral myself, if he had made it clear. 3. The extra $100 charge is outlandish. After the jump-start, my engine started temporarily, so the driver nicely mentioned that it would be $100 if I don't tow the vehicle any more. I understood that since he already made the trip, it's going to cost $100 whether I tow my car or not. In other words, $100 is their price for an entire trip to jumpstart a car. However, they added an extra $100 to my original $100 bill when the driver was already there to tow my car, so it's like I got charged for both a jumpstart-call and a tow-call. 4. The secretary talked down on me with bad analogies and compared my call for a price-correction to begging for free burgers from McDonalds (notably, McDonalds will actually just give you the burger if there's a reasonable doubt in a dispute, because McDonald's is actually professional unlike Golden Way Towing). 5. The manager insists, as if he were there, that the driver explained the pricing before he jump-started the car, and said it's my word vs his. So that's the kind of position you can expect to be put in with Golden Way Towing. Don't use Golden Way, and if you must, record every conversation you have with them. read more

I called at 10:30am for a flat tire and it took 1.5 hours to respond when promised 30 min. I called three times and was put on hold for 22 min! I cancelled and called Golden State Fleet! They were out in 15 min! Replaced my tire in 4 min! Now talk about service! read more

Customer beware, please learn from my experience and don't let this company do to you what they did to me. I recommend finding an alternative, but if you must use Golden Way then please heed my warning: 1. Make sure you lock down the price upfront, on the phone, before they send the tow. Get your estimate upfront, and don't agree to anything until you do. 2. If they attempt to add extra charges decline the tow. I requested a non-emergency tow of my AWD vehicle 7 miles. I let them know it would need all 4 tires off the ground as it was an AWD vehicle. They let me know they'd get back with an appx time for pickup. When they called back and set up a pickup I did not get the price, that was my mistake. When the tow truck arrived, they told me the price to tow 7 miles would be $229 (partially because I was being charged extra to have my back wheels on dolleys, as is standard with any AWD vehicle). 7 mi - $229 That is a terrible price and a terrible value, especially considering I basically put my vehicle on the tow truck for the driver. So if that's what you're looking for then you found it. Like I said, get the price upfront. $229 is a ripoff but if they want my money that bad I'll give them this review for free. Will never use this place again. Re-upped my AAA and if you end up using Golden Way I'm sure that's the next thing you will do, too. read more

Lies, lies and more lies! That's not nice to Say but it sure felt like we were being lied to! After promising to help us jump our commercial van and not showing up... calling back to be told it would be longer, driver was in route... calling back again to be told it was going to be another 30 minutes. From 25 minute eta to just shy of 2 hours, still no driver. Instead of waiting "impatiently" for another 30 minute delay we started calling tow companies. We found Golden State Fleet Service, absolutely wonderful caring dispatcher, told us the truth (the first time) and our van was jumped within 20 minutes! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON Golden Way Towing, CALL AN HONEST TOW COMPANY... CALL GOLDEN STATE FLEET SERVICE AT (925) 831-1929. read more

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Took them three trucks to get my car, would only communicate through text, I had to follow up with them a million times and then they left my Vehicle parked in the middle Of the road where they dropped it off with the drive train completely disassembled. Horrible horrible Horrible then they over charged me on my tow. Called their competition and they would have done it for 600 dollars less. read more

Was told 30-50 minutes and ending up waiting 1 1/2 hrs for somebody to come with the WRONG truck. Ended up waiting a total of 3 1/2hrs. Every time I called it was 20-30 min hold times just to speak with somebody to find out where my tow truck was. Will not be recommending this company read more

Wish I would've seen the yelp review first. Google search said this company was a 3.9 Appointment for pick up was 7:15-8:15 for a 9 AM auto repair appointment which they knew about. Coworker called at 8:10, they said they'd be here in 15 minutes. Still no tow truck. I called at 9:15, they said they'd come in 10 min. They finally get here around 9:30. I asked about a price reduction, the driver (which I won't say since it was a completely different towing company that they just outsourced), said no they have to charge us the correct amount. I said so nothing for you being an hour late? He said no, maybe next time. Absolutely will not be a next time. He said they gave us a discount for our car not being able to be in neutral. But the amount charged was the amount they already gave us for it not being in neutral. No discount was applied. We called to talk to a supervisor. His name is Lee. He kept cutting my coworker off on the phone, saying oh it's just an hour late, like it's not a big deal. Not accepting much responsibility or accountability. Currently waiting on a refund. We'll see if that goes through!! read more

BEWARE do not use this company they are FRAUDS! They will take down your credit card information before they send their tow truck technician and charge your credit card without services rendered. Technician never showed up. When I called to find the location of the tow truck driver no one answered. When I realized they charged me, I called the main office to dispute the fee and they told me to "take it up with my bank". There are far better reliable tow companies in the area. You've been warned. read more

What a fraudulent company. Tried to schedule a tow, and recieved an estimated pickup time of 45 minutes. Over an hour passes, and still nothing. Have tried calling them back over 50 times but their phones aren't picking up all of a sudden. Thank you for leaving us stranded at 12AM you bunch of crooked ass people. read more

Price Gouging and the most terrible customer experience. Keep away! I had my car towed 34 miles from East of El Rancho to San Ramon on June 5th near midnight for $330. I arranged a tow from San Ramon to San Jose, a distance of 33 miles. After we reached I was told that I would have to pay $685 to unload my car. This after the Driver showing up 1 hr 10 min late past the appointment. When called out for price gouging, the Tow driver asked me to call the manager who just did not pick up several times. Then I was told it was for the exceptional service. If you want the worst possible service and be Price gouged, use these guys. Utterly unprofessional. Will NEVER use them again read more

While I was traveling my wife found herself stranded an hour from home in the east bay with a battery that wouldn't take a jump start. I was desperately trying to help by calling AAA and our insurance to find a service that would come and replace her battery. The local competition didn't have the battery in stock or they didn't provide the service. I tried Golden Way Towing and the dispatcher said they provided the service, they have the right battery, and they'd be at my wife's location in 45-60 minutes. After 60 minutes passed I contact Golden Way and they informed me their driver was another hour from my wife's location. We were desperate, so we continued to wait. After those 60 minutes, and another 30 minutes or so passed I called in and the dispatcher said they would contact the driver to get an update. I waited on hold for 20 minutes and then was disconnected. I called back again and the dispatcher at Golden Way informed me that they haven't been able to contact the driver, they have no idea where the driver is, and that at that point there was nothing they could do. I felt defeated and completely let down by this company. This entire time my wife, and our 2 dogs have been stranded alone in the dark in 40 degree windy weather. This ordeal started at 2pm. I contacted Golden Way Towing at 4pm. I got that final response from Golden Way Towing at 6:50pm. They never made an effort to contact me and let me know the driver went AWOL. They knew she was stranded and clearly they didn't care. I was so hopeful they'd pull through and was willing to pay their high service fees to make it happen. Instead all they did is waste my time and make the whole situation so much worse. Do not do business with this company. read more

Do not use this company. I called them Friday at 12:44 to see if they had tow trucks large enough to tow a motorhome. they had me send a picture of the motorhome then told me yes they could tow it and it would be picked up in 60 or less minutes. and that the tow cost would be $850. and that if I canceled they would charge me 50% I had another tow set up with another company but it was going to be 2 hours. so I asked what if this ends up being over 2 hours, they girl said absolutely not it will be no more than 60 minutes. after 2 hours and several calls I asked if they could come get it if I wasn't there they said yes & said they needed us to sign an authorization form, which was a credit card form instead. our motorhome sat for over 6 hours on hwy 84 & over 7 hours later it was delivered by another tow company. Golden Way charged my card $850 plus another $412.50 and they didn't town my motorhome another company did. This fraud and they lied to me over and over telling me their guy was around the corner and would be there in a few minutes. read more
