There is no available spot for most of the days. However owner didn't expose the important information to new customers. As a result it's hard for new customer to make appointments. Also it's required $10 at least as tips which wasn't exposed by the owner when the services were bought. Very bad experience with this store. read more

Had a great experience at Golden Sun Spa. Went in for the deep tissue massage and Kim gave me exactly what I came for. Excellent massage and I left there feeling like a million bucks! I got the 30 min $40 basic facial from Kim and she was so amazing! She was so sweet and took her time with my skin. The facial was fairly basic - she cleansed my skin multiple times, put a couple of masks on, used two different hand-held machines, and finished with another cleanser and moisturizer. If you are looking for a hydrating facial, this place has it! They don't do extractions/deep cleaning, but it's definitely worth it if you want to be refreshed and moisturized. read more

This review could be a book of negative experiences I recently had but I'll name a few because it's important for customers and the employer to know! I came in for a one hour massage, and usually you undress and put a towel or blanket over you before the massage therapist comes in. I asked where the towel was and the woman didn't understand. I asked again and she started taking my clothes off! I should have left them. Someone else came in and asked if I wanted a regular or deep tissue massage - I said regular. Meanwhile the man in the "room" next to me ( everything is separated by curtains) was moaning. I mean moaning! He started asking incessantly for the therapists phone number and that he wanted to have her come over later. It was very uncomfortable. Not to mention the fight over $ at the front desk when he was done! When I was done I went to pay and gave a 20% tip. They said I HAD to give $10 more because it was a deep tissue. Basically forcing customers to tip - oh and I asked for a regular massage! You don't listen to your customers, make them feel incredibly uncomfortable - it's terrible. read more

Awful awful awful! I made an appointment for my wife for a full body massage for our anniversary. I called 5 days before and made an appointment at 3pm. They said okay, they dont need my name since they have my phone number, great ( or so i thought) The day of our appointment we came at 3pm and there was no one to greet us at the front desk. Someone then came and i said i have an appointment at 3. She had a puzzled look on her face and went to the back and said they dont have our appointment. We made it too soon ( really!?) or were supposed to call them back to confirm our appointment 2 days before.... if this was the case they shouldve told me when i made the appointment which they didnt. This is supposed to be a professional establishment? Im surprised they have any good reviews at all. Dont recommend this place to anyone.. smh. read more

First time was great, no complaints - 5 stars! Did a couples massage in the afternoon and thought how comfy the beds were and the temperature of the room was perfect. Only regret was that I didn't ask for my masseuse's name. She did a great job. Second time was horrible - 1 star. My fiancee had Judy and I had Anna for a couples massage. I asked for names this time lol. They close at 9pm and they started us at 8:15pm. Maybe it's cause it was close to closing time but they wouldn't stop talking. They weren't talking in English and they were loud. You go there to relax and not listen to annoying gibberish. I was getting so pissed off that I was tense the entire time. I didn't say anything but I looked up a couple of times to stare and started to huff and puff loudly trying to hint it. My girl at least tried to talk softer. Also, I could tell she was done working and wanted to go home because the massage was horrible. Overall: Place is cheap, decent massages (depending on who you get), and clean.The lady in the front is always very nice and welcoming. You don't need an appointment but you should call in anyway. Also, I suggest NEVER to come after 730-8pm. I want to come in another time to test my theory about it sucking cuz they were closing and come in at an earlier time lol. Middle of the massage she gets a call and actually ANSWERS, in the middle of the massage to have a conversation. Left in the middle of the massage multiple times. So if you read my other reviews, you'll notice that I'm always on the hunt for the perfect not-too-expensive massage, akin to Ponce de Leon searching for the Fountain of Youth, except I'm just looking for something to work the knots out of my back and shoulders. COULD I HAVE FOUND THE PLACE?! I sure hope so. Golden Sun Spa is a "hidden" gem, and when I say "hidden," I'm smiling since it's right on Middle Neck Road across the street from the Waldbaum's shopping center. However, it's small and has an unassuming storefront, so you've probably walked by it many times without noticing. I stopped by over Memorial Day weekend on a whim after dinner and got the 1-hour body massage with Jesse, the owner. Absolutely wonderful. She worked out some bad knots in my shoulders and even did some light stretching with my arms and legs and was never too rough or too gentle. If I want an overpriced gentle Swedish massage with scented oil and no knot-working, I'll go to the Red Door, thank you very much (that's throwing you some shade, Elizabeth Arden!). Oh, and did I mention it only cost $38? THIRTY-EIGHT DOLLARS, PEOPLE! And unlike another foot massage/body massage place further up the street on Middle Neck, Golden Sun is immaculately clean (I could tell I was laying down on freshly washed sheets), not creepy dark, and dare-I-say-it, not sketchy. I've been back three more times since then and have had the 1-hour foot massage and 1-hour body massage, but would opt for the body work. Jesse is fantastic and friendly, and you can actually have a conversation with her in English and she'll understand you. (I'm also Asian, though not Chinese, and I'm just being honest. It's easier when you can actually communicate with your massage therapist!) I've also had a body massage with Ginny (Jenny?), and she is also wonderful and gives a great scalp massage with the body work. I would suggest going in the evening when the Spanish deli next door is closed. I went once during the day, and you can hear some of the music next door, which wasn't bothersome, just noticeable. The landlord should have done a better job insulating the walls, but that's not Golden Sun's fault by any means. I'm happy to finally have found a place within walking distance of my home that's actually affordable, but I'm a bit down that this place won't be my little secret anymore. Which reminds me, I need to call for an appointment this week before you all beat me there. read more

my husband and I book couples massages here and the ladies are wonderful. It is very reasonably priced. This is our "in town' go to place. The atmosphere is very soothing. If we had one issue, it would be that sometimes when we are in the middle of our massage and door bell goes off ( and no one is at front desk ) one of our therapists have to go tend to customer. This is an interruption to our relaxing massage. Kind of breaks up the peacefulness we might otherwise be in. However, the staff is great and the massages are wonderful. Thanks Golden Sun read more

I've had a couple massage from Golden Sun and the overall atmosphere is these ladies work hard. They are very good at what they do and have a magic touch. This place is quiet and relaxing. The price is very good too. They can at times be busy but what do you expect for the price and the job well done. I can say that every time I have left, I leave with no knots and feeling great. read more

Had a couples massage here that made us walk out feeling like jello. This place is open late (until 9:30PM on a Monday night) and they gave us water bottles after the massage. The workers here are very courteous and sweet. And only $38/hr! Really liked the one move of my masseuse involving her elbow that crushed the knots in my back. Will return. read more

After having been to Golden Sun Spa on multiple occasions today's experience was less than desirable. Prior visits were always good but today the massage was terrible. Not to mention the fact that they force you to leave a $15 tip regardless of satisfaction for that day. When I stated I was unhappy with the massage the workers still expected that I was going to leave a minimum $15 tip. I understand that is a small price to pay however, the tip minimum should not be mandatory. It should be a recommended amount that is based off of the given service. If you're looking for a no-frills full body massage for cheap, this is the place. It's a hole-in-the-wall place that isn't ideal for relaxation. Customer service was also questionable. Cons: - The masseuse picked up the phone 5x and left to attend to the front desk twice in the span of an hour. - The massage was... strange. I felt like she was scrubbing me down. Her motions were fast and done kind of aggressively like she was taking out her frustrations on me. She bent my leg then jerked it forward. She was able to take out my knots and tension but I was definitely not relaxed. - There's a $3 tax to use a credit card. When paying, she asked how much tip I wanted to give. Because of my experience, I told her $6 (15%). The massage was $38. The moment I said 15%, her and another masseuse literally scoffed with so much attitude and walked away. Unbelievable and unprofessional. - There was no questionnaire or discussion about skin allergies or concerns prior to them using the oil.
