The staff was friendly. The location was clean and had seating for a quick lunch. The chicken patty was not what I expected. The inside tastes like a puree not real chicken flower or taste. This is not reflecting of the restaurant location just the brand has changed. My Ting is always a vibe. Cool spot

Ordered via Uber eats, it was my first time ordering from Golden Crust. I got the curry chicken it came with rice and peas, cabbage. Two mild beef patty and large plantains. The food taste good. I was really in the mood for some Caribbean food so they were my choice for today.

Come for the patties and the patties won't disappoint. The rest of the options have much to be desired, but the patties are solid and what they're built on. Most have a golden crust (imagine that) which is a container for various fillings. 5 Stars for the patties. They also have a bunch of sides (what I tried was 2-3 stars) and at times, their LTOs (Limited Time Offerings) can be good. We went when they had the vegan meat patties and they were out of them. I wish they had all the time. They have some veggie patties but I tried a bite and wasn't a fan. Their meat Patties are good too though. My visits here may be few and far between, especially with Island Thyme within walking distance to my home, but it's a solid place to stop for a snack if you're visiting Home Depot, Sleep Number, Michaels, or something else in the most inconvenient plaza in Waterford. I think they were on Undercover Boss one time, and they also have their products in the frozen food section of grocery stores, In fact, I just scored their Beyond Meat patties at Publix so now I may never have to endure the logistical nightmare of going here.

Looks like my 400th review goes to a chain I've frequented for most of my life in various locations. Golden Krust isn't the best Jamaican food ever but it's authentic, delicious, reasonably priced, comes in large portions and is usually fresh (heck at our most recent visit we got straight out of the oven patties & they were top notch. Great selection of non alcoholic beverages. They've converted to take out only during co-vid with plexi glass, distance markers and masks and the tables have been replaced by a Caribbean favorites mini mart with lots of spices, sauces and packaged goods. Overall a friendly location with fresh items. Will be back!

I drive almost 40 minutes from Lake Mary to go here. It's the best Golden Krust in Orlando and one of the best Caribbean places in the area. Most Golden Krusts are franchised (not sure if this one is) and this one definitely stands apart. I usually go on Sunday afternoon and it's always busy but the food is always fresh and they usually have what I want in stock. The variety of sides, drinks, and desserts are a great way to try something authentic and new. My wife is Jamaican and she agrees that this Golden Krust puts out the best in terms of quality and flavor. My go-to order is the jerk chicken platter with rice and peas, stewed cabbage and plantains. I love that they offer both white and dark meat. You can also chose the gravy from any of the other entrees to dress up your rice. (I recommend the oxtail). There's at least 6 different kinds of patty available including beyond meat and spinach which I haven't see anywhere else. Prices are reasonable and portions are large. The staff is fun and remember the regulars. One tip- call ahead if there is something you really want. While they do tend to keep most things on hand, if you go when it's busy or later in the day they can run out. You can also call ahead to place an order for extra assurance that you're getting what you want.

Jerk pork dinner with cabbage and fried plantains.

Walking in e we immediately had a pleasant aroma hit us. We tried a spicy beef Patty and a jerk pork dinner with side of cabbage and fried plantain. The beef Patty crust was soft, flaky and flavorful. The beef filling was delicious, spicy without being overpowering. The jerk pork dinner was huge. Both of us ate until we were full and still enough for a big lunch leftover. The rice and peas were covered with ox tail gravy. Pork was cooked well, not overdone, jerk sauce was flavorful without overdone it. Cabbage was so much more than expected. Plantains were fried right, soft inside with a slight crust. I can't wait to go back to try another dish.

I don't know what food got all these stars but it certainly wasn't what we ordered. We are in town, saw the great reviews and decided to order. As a Jamaican, I found the food to be quite insulting. The stewed red snapper taste several days old. The oxtails nothing but fat and grizzle. The rice and peas has this weird sweetness and taste several days old as well! The only thing that we ate were the patties. If you can't get good Jamaican food in dam Florida idk what to say other than, we were highly disappointed and upset to have spent so much to still be hungry and just toss the food in the trash. A huge disappointment! Thankfully we're headed to Jamaica so I'll just charge this to a bad pick and get ready to enjoy the real deal!

Great food. Service is good. Closest to Caribbean food you will find on this side of town. Shrimp patties is the best.

Cake was moist, cream cheese icing was creamy and not too sweet, a good amount of carrots in the cake, a big portion sliced in half for sharing, and an affordable price. Brown stew chicken - 5/10. Ok flavor, but the chicken was kind of dry. I would have liked extra gravy but was unable to make that special request. Rice and peas - 10/10. Rice was good, nice hint of coconut milk, peas cooked perfectly. Veggies - 2/10. Bland AF. Everything except for the cabbage tastes like it came from a can. Plantain - 2/10. Bland, kinda dry. Would only order from here again for the carrot cake.

I was getting together with some friends and we ordered from Negril. Luckily, a couple of my friends are Jamaican and they helped steer me to some new faves! Food I'd highly recommend: - Brown stew chicken meal with rice and peas, fried plantain, and stewed cabbage. This dish is rich and has the potential for leftovers if you're not starving. For the uninitiated, Jamaican rice and peas consist of red kidney beans and rice that's cooked in broth, coconut milk, and tons of aromatic spices. This isn't your white rice and green peas type of situation. I could have eaten this rice on its own, but add in the brown stew sauce and WOW. Also, I love the cabbage side because it adds a vinegary note that offsets the rich stew. Note: The chicken is cut up and includes bones. - Coco bread: This is a Jamaican style bun baked with coconut milk. It's especially good when paired with a patty in the middle (yes, the coco bread around the patty! Carb heaven!). - Festival: Jamaican festival is a sweet fried dough made with cornmeal, flour, sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and milk aka a dumpling. Yes this is as good as it sounds- especially for soaking up brown stew gravy! I was BLOWN away to see an entire veggie section of the menu (for online ordering) featuring soya veggie chunks (a soy based option with the consistency of chicken). That's a HUGE deal for those of us with vegetarians in the family. Overall, delicious Jamaican food that I'll definitely order again!

The jerk chicken, I got with rice and peas, mixed veggies and cabbage. The cabbage was a little strange to me- not as I imagined from Jamaica steamed cabbage. The mixed veggies were also basic - like boiled frozen mixed veggies. The rice and peas were overall good but tasted a little on the hard side. The chicken though! This was the highlight - it was very flavorful, though I wish I would be able to have the sauce on the side.. For the fried chicken meal - the fried chicken was nice and hot. I got this to-go and was worried it would get soggy but it still tasted great when I got home. Environment This is located in a plaza tucked away near the corner. It seems to be a more takeout restaurant. There is some seats inside for your to enjoy the food. Since it is in a plaza, there is plenty of parking available, but in front of the restaurant could be a bit tricky. Niceness of the staff I would say she was not on the nice side. Bob Marley A Tribute to Freedom met all these requirements and blew our expectations out of the water. Yes, it was a splurge, but it was some of the best food we have had. And, we had great music accompanying our meal. I ordered the Natty Dread Vegetable Pasties with yucca fries and sweet bread. The filling was delicious, but it was the pastry dough that knocked my socks off. My husband agreed! I also split an Island Mai Tai with my husband--a real, classic mai tai,l with orgeat--and it was perhaps the best we'd ever had. (It was $18, though, for maybe 8 ounces, including ice and fruit--yikes!) The spouse had the jerk chicken with rice and pidgeon peas and some sweet plantains. (I traded some of my sweet bread for some of those sweet plantains--yum!) He said it was the best food he had while in Orlando. Our 12yo got a vegetable stew (Itel Soup) with root vegetables, cassava dumplings, black beans, and plantains. She thought it was fine originally, asked for salt, and then really liked it. The husband got the 12yo's leftovers, and he thought it was great, too (but agreed that in needed salt and pepper). Nonetheless, she liked it, and we all found something on the menu we could enjoy. Finally, the server was amazing. He was so great managing our tired, grumpy 12yo (and her tired, grumpy parents). He was able to coax her into choosing a dish and eating it, too, which I don't know if we would have succeeded in doing without him. He also pointed our the many non-alcoholic beverage options, so she was able to have her own tasty drink, a Jamaican Cream Soda. There were *several* vegetarian dishes on the menu that looked fantastic and I would love to have a chance to try. I hope we can make it to Orlando again sometime to try those other dishes!

But instead we were seated right in front of the live band and it was so loud, we couldn't talk at all. The funny thing was that the restaurant was barely half full! Our waiter also had a tough time hearing us so we had to corret our orders a couple of times. They ran out of beef patties:-( that day. We decide to order some appetizers and a couple of entrees and shared. We had the Buffalo Soldier Jerk Wings - Had a nice spice to it and was quite delicious. We also hd the Jerk Caulifolower bites - a little sweet and spicy sauce and we all agreed this was the best dish we had! We had the Curried Goat stew - a weak curry and did not really have any spice to it. The Reggae Jamaican Jerk Chicken had a sweet spice and sticky sauce - next best dish we had. We also ordered the Coco bread- which was disappointing andd I do not recommend. It was just bread with some butter in it and definitely overpriced for what you got! Cocktails were rather weak. Server was just OK. He wasn't very attentive and did nothing to make our visit great.
