Sadly, the careful use of well-chosen, fresh ingredients craftily prepared using original recipes is the essence of asian (japanese, korean, vietnamese,...) cuisine. I'll give just one (yet the most appalling) example: Sushi rolls with baked tuna, drowned in cheddar and cocktail sauce. Why??? The staff were friendly though and the interior is well decorated although again more arabic or middle-eastern than asian. Music was slightly entrancing or meditating, but again, weird. They should probably advertise more clearly what kind of cuisine they serve.

I ordered a chicken meal with rice, and the chicken had bones in it that I almost choked on- it didn't say it ok the menu-guess I wasn't expecting it. The rice tasted okay but I was turned off from eating once my sister found a long black hair in her food. Once there's hair in food my stomach turns and I don't eat anymore. When my sister complained about the hair- the staff were staring at her like they didn't understand why she was upset- and were making it seem like she threw the hair in there. We also ordered some bread with our meal which never came and had to be sure it was taken off our check. Overall this experience was terrible and I wished we had gone to the steakhouse around the corner that I wanted to go to- but the people I was with wanted this place.

The wontons were good, but I felt like the really thin noodles and soup tasted like something out of an instant noodle packet. Finished it because we were hungry and it was super cold outside. At least the bowl was piping hot. Alright if you're in the area and try something besides the soup. Wouldn't go out of my way to dine here. Also, one of the workers was using a toothpick in his mouth and serving food. Not sure if that's sanitary.

The glutinous, or sticky rice, was okay. A bit too salty for me and had a charred in the wok flavor which was heavy. The dough of the rice rolls was evenly thick throughout the dish, but not light. To me, it seemed like the rice roll was made in advance as it had a very chewy texture. They look nice and uniform, but I'd rather have something that tastes good. The biggest disappointment is a dim sum staple, Shui Mai (D02). They were luke warm temperature-wise. And the filling lacked flavor. The balance between the shrimp and pork leaned heavily on the pork, which was a bit gristly. The service is standard for a traditional Chinese restaurant. The staff speak English, Dutch, Mandarin, and Cantonese. Very impressive! They are also well staffed for a Chinese restaurant. The ambiance is the standard fare for a Chinese restaurant too. Focus is on seating, not on decor. There are several dining rooms and there is a case of baked goods at the entrance. Overall, they had some good and not so good items. Pick and choose wisely!
