This is the ideal neighbourhood cafe that has something for everything. Do you want to study? Power outlets everywhere, WiFi at a blazing 65/35, and open later than most cafés on a weekday. Got little kids? There are push toys and books. Kids are a little older? They got board games. They take their coffee seriously, for roasting their own. They have a selection of fancy teas, which I tried the lemon ginger. The breakfast cookie is definitely one of the better ones I've had. I'll get them both again. Friendly staff. I simply don't understand how I haven't checked this place out sooner! Upon entering I was already interested to have a seat if I didn't have an appointment booked 20 minutes next door. So cute and inviting; this place offers a cozy place to sit and quietly have a coffee. I ordered a matcha latte and a ginger cookie. The latte was prepared just right and not too sweet nor bitter. Out in the far west edges of Toronto, I was dying for a good kick of caffeine and stumbled into this sunny bright spot in Baby Point. I LOVED the fact the owner is an Aussie who's love of all things coffee which includes the true flat white. The cafe is super bright and sunny with it's bold yellow accents everywhere and really open spacious. The back wall is where you can order up your drinks and snacks. I loved how they had Lamington's there... I haven't seen them in years! I really enjoyed getting my drink here as the owner was just great and friendly. Flat White with Almond Milk - Smooth, well balanced, and flavourful... sure it doesnt have fancy little leaf on it but you dont need it when it tastes this good. 4/5 If I'm ever in the edges of Toronto again, I'll be happy to stop by and grab a drink here. read more

Get your meat pies and sausage rolls and don't forget the ice cream and Bundaberg ginger beer. This gem has lots if great treats. The kids really enjoyed the meat pies and sausage rolls. They are easy to eat and handle. I came for the Bundaberg ginger beer, which I haven't seen anywhere but in Australia before. They are great in a whiskey mule. But today, today I experienced the ice cream. From Central Smith ice creamery. Have you heard of them, me neither. But don't doubt, they got great flavors and what is call "craft ice cream". Let me get the one big negative out of the way: nowhere in the place are prices shown. Not anywhere. Not on the menu board, not on the counter or the display case or on any kind of sign. Sure, people who own homes in Baby Point can ignore such trivialities, but not the rest of us. More transparency, please! Otherwise, we love this spot. Bright, airy, and mostly comfortable (except for those metal stools), with exceptional coffee, fascinating and unusual beverages (I tried the tumeric latte most recently) and a great philosophy about environmental respect and quality product. Location is a bit out of the way. But while not especially convenient for us, we go anyway. The video screen with updated bus information is a great idea--riders can grab a coffee without worrying about missing their ride. Wifi seems good, music is listenable, and faces are friendly. A standout spot in an unassuming area very West of the city. It's cheerful and bright, with an ambience that you don't expect from the area. Had a meat pie (wonderful), Americano, and a piece of carrot loaf. Meat pie was an obvious choice and provides a nice change for a hearty cafe snack. Jake makes this place what it is. I love grabbing a great coffee with a guaranteed smile in the morning. Try the golden (turmeric) latte. A new fave! A great addition to the neighbourhood, as there are no true indie coffee shops in walking distance. My wife tells me their coffee tastes great, while I enjoyed having a cookie there. The owner is very friendly. I was impressed that the shop has a small tv by the door showing the bus schedule/status, so that customers can enjoy being in the cafe, and minimize the time spent standing out on the street. first time using the online ordering and first time visiting in about 18 months or so. Uncertain about how to approach them but happy to find they offered online ordering and I could place the order on my PC as I don't download apps. They seemed to already have my cell phone number but not sure how or why when I placed my order that that's fine. Very happy to support a local business during covid and really always. Main concern is ability to socially distance. Inside the store there are stars and customers stand far back from one another but unfortunately one staff member ran in and out when I was inside and by ran I mean ran and we had to move aside because he did not honour a 6 foot distance even though it was possible on his way out. Then he dashed back in - you know I never thought running during Covid was a good plan. On the way back the customer ahead of me had moved to the side where the side counters are and the employee squeezed in behind her. I estimate from my vantage point they were less than 2 inches apart at that time. Did the employee use his words to suggest that he needed to get in that space? no. Did she even see him coming? no. Is there a pandemic with serious lockdown in place? yes. Why would employees not keep the distance? Are they just very comfortable here. The web site says that they take care with social distancing but during my entire visit this was not always evident. Let's go back to the waiting outside. I arrived to find 14 people in various clusters around the corner of the store. most wearing masks but a few not wearing masks that those few were the ones talking. Gatherings outside are currently limited to 10 people socially distanced. There is only one piece of tape on the sidewalk that I could see, by the door. They way to line up is not at all evident. Taking a glance at who was waiting and not knowing whether they were waiting for folks already inside or waiting inline. I just picked a spot about 6 feet away from anyone else but pedestrians would be unable to pass and maintain the 6 feet unless they were on the road which seems to be what happened. Gradually I figured out the line. Shivering and cold we moved 6 feet at a time and some order was restored when someone came out with drinks and a group of 7 all moved off together. These would not be in the same household. So disappointing. They were the people speaking and not wearing masks so that brought more order to the remaining. Another two people arrived and joined the line. One couple I didn't really understand. They were not in the line but she kept jumping up and down and then going over and trying to look inside the door but had to bend over because there are so many signs on the door. One person asked if they wanted to go in and they said no but could she ask about their order. So that I think is what caused the employee to run in and out eventually. As the woman ahead of me was standing on the side it was unclear if I should move ahead. no one asked me to move head they just spoke to me where I was standing, then she left but by then the runner employee had come up to where he might exit again and asked me what I wanted. I asked him to please give me 6 feet and not come any closer and so he turned around and went the kitchen without taking my order at all. no kidding. What is wrong here? I was very polite. I am on the elderly side. I am quiet and yet he just walked away. It's not clear where to stand inside for your order and there is zero guidance from the staff. So they brought my tea and sandwich to the side where I could pick them up and I asked for a receipt. But apparently that is available through the app. I don't have the app and the strange thing is that the sign on does not ask for my email but it says things will be emailed to me. It's a bit confusing. I got a couple of texts on my cell phone and when it said to check my order status I clicked on the link but there was no information about my order. So who knows. I tried to exit but two women were ready to pounce on the door outside. And they were talking within 2 feet of the door. No markings about where to stand of course will lead to this. They then asked if I needed the door held for me but of course if someone holds the door they will never be 6 feet away. Eventually I was able to exit with some safety but both people were well within 6 feet as I passed but by then I was outside. and on my way. Got back with my tea and it has no closure on the lid. Bits of white liquid were all over the lid. I had ordered black tea so I thought maybe the milk was all on top? opened the tea and it had been filled to the very edge of the cup. so of course liquid would slosh out and the tea was nearly white. I dipped the tea bag on the string but the colour never changed. Possibly a 1/4 cup of milk in this tea? Sandwich was great but cheese not fully melted. read more

one time the guy served me a pumpkin spice latte i still think of a year later. legit the best pumpkin spice latte i have had in my entire life. also the baked foods are delicious. only thing is that i find their quality to be a tiny bit inconsistent... i dont know for sure, either way its still really good. read more
