the interior of a coffee shop

Beautiful coffee shop, lovely coffee and pastries with a very friendly staff. Highly recommend this place

Inside a historic building, high ceilings, marble counters, custom wallpaper.

Note: Street parking, relatively easy to come by during my visit. Located within blocks of condo townhouses, this Balzac's - as with all the other locations that I've been to - is in a historical GE building. Interior is elegant (marble counters, high ceilings) with some country touches. I'm not sure whether it's the location or time of day, but even though the café was to capacity, it wasn't noisy or bustling like Starbucks. Clientele seemed more mature, lotsa young couples with babies - who don't stay, people working on laptops, and older people. Barista seemed friendly. Coffee is good. There is self-serve water. Wished there was one of these closer to me!

Balzacs are generally a step above in ambience, but this location is now my favorite. Airy and spacious, plenty of electrical power outlets with USB, WiFi tested at 100/14. This location fits about 30 people plus a patio. For parents, there is a large playground across the street. All around good option.

Balzac's Powerhouse location is located around Dupont/Lansdowne. The cafe is somewhat hidden if you don't know where it is or live around the area. I've gone to this location several times and always find that the staff was very friendly and attentive, the drinks are good, and that there is plenty of seating if you are looking for a quiet place to work. Moreover, the decor is on point and I have definitely taken a few pictures of the pretty interior!

Another location added to the growing family that Balzac already has. This coffee shops located in what used to be a PowerHouse right beside the heritage Foundry Lofts on Landsdowne (just north of the main intersection Lansdowne and DuPont). Great ambience and unique decor make this location another gem where you can come, sit, relax either alone or with your friends. The quality of the coffee and the service is in line with the rest of the other location so if you are in the area, a visit is worthwhile.

Ordered: Medium lattes, matcha latte, carrot cake, scone and chocolate bar. Pros: - Great coffee selection - Lots of pastries to choose - Beautiful decorated space to sit and enjoy Cons: - A bit pricey Overall: I would visit again and try some of the other items on the menu. The coffee was tasty, so was the matcha latte and the pastries were fresh, a good size portion and delicious. Overall a nice afternoon treat and a must visit!

I've been to the Liberty Village location and the one in Ryerson's campus, and the Powerhouse location is my favourite.

The restaurant is In what is popularly called Little Tibet. The place is small, about 8-10 tables, and the largest seating is for 6 people. Neat, bright, and cosy interiors are welcoming. The staff is friendly, always smiling, so easy to speak to. The food is simply amazing. The flavours, scents and colours are irresistible. We've tried the momos (both steamed and fried, veg/chicken/beef), fried noodles, pork... each dish is better than the other. The salted Himalayan butter tea was a lovely surprise and I can't get enough of it. The food can be spicy, I love it, but do let them know in advance based on your tolerance. A gem of a place, will definitely visit again.

First time trying Tibetan & Himalayan cuisine, and it was a really interesting experience. I usually lean more toward other Asian and Southeast Asian flavours, so this was a nice change of pace rather than my usual go-to. Overall, the food and vibe made for a solid visit--unpretentious, authentic, and clearly a place that puts care into what they do. Glad I checked it out and would recommend it if you're looking to try something different.

To be honest, the store and decor are so much better than the original store. Maybe because there's usually more traffic in the PATH, so it takes more time for them to keep up? Anyways, the store was cozy and clean and I felt extra welcomed as soon as I stepped in. I got my usual flat white and of course it came with latte art :) They sell more beans and merchandise than the original store, so definitely check it out if you have a chance!

Checking out this location it's all vibe and super adorable inside. They even have a little back outdoor patio space for you to enjoy your drinks. The only reason that this isn't a 5 star is that their drinks are definitely on the sweet side and this is throughout their locations - think they can scale back on the sugar for sure! Opted for their new seasonal mango sticky rice matcha latte which was really good and loved the bits of sticky rice in my drink. But it was on the sweeter side of things. Would've been perfect if they scaled back on the sugar content. Overall, delicious drinks with a rotating seasonal menu. Worth checking out, especially their new space is great for enjoying your cup of caffeine.

I would order it again, but I'd perhaps see if they could heat it, or I'd take it home and heat it. The staff was friendly.
