I have to give this place a 1 star from our last visit. We ordered food togo and the lady that helped us was sick and coughing all over the place. She had no mask on nor gloves. She was rubbing her nose, touching the food, and the kiosk to check us out. At that point we knew she was contagious and my partner and I looked at each other thinking "hope she doesn't get us sick" We were hungry and decided to dine in. Unfortunately the same woman that was sick served the food. She even touched our drinking cup lid with her nasty hand. A couple days later unfortunately my partner got sick and we can GUARANTEE that this worker got him sick. Gross. People here need to go home if they're sick so they don't infect others esp customers. The toppings were diverse from vegan pork cake ( cha) to fried tofu, and the vegan crab cake ( rieu) was delicious. Took my daughter here to eat because she is allergic to fish sauce and most Vietnamese restaurants use fish sauce for all the dishes. I ordered bun rieu, she ordered bun bo. I ordered: Bo Bia: Pretty good. The egg wasn't too "eggy" and it tasted nice with the peanut sauce. Bun Hue: A delicious soup. The base is very flavorful. I received mushrooms instead of "chicken" this time and was a bit disappointed because I hate mushrooms. So this dish is possibly random with the meats and veggies. Bun Xao Sa: This was okay. I ordered beef and it was tasty because of the lemongrass flavor. Said it was supposed to come with an eggroll but it didn't. The vermicelli on the bottom was raw and hard. Disappointing. Nice staff and let me sit even though my friend wasn't there yet.... My friend got the Duck Noodle Soup...which she enjoyed. Fortunately we were all hungry and were the only ones when we came it. The inside is spacious and imagine on busier days or busier time of the day it probably get a lot of people coming in and out. Each of us ordered our plates and they came out pretty quick which was a good thing since we all were hungry. Everything was tasteful, two soup bowls and I got a flat rice noodles dish. Told them all veggies but they gave me combo. Guess they wanted that extra dollar but it's fine because it was good regardless. I forgot which bowl that they ordered but one of them was slightly bland. Either way the food was good, the place was nice, can't imagine how parking is when it gets busy. Golden Flower Vegetarian Restaurant came highly recommended by my cousin as one of her family favorites. On one of our larger family outings, we decided to come here to try their vegetarian interpretation of beloved traditional Vietnamese dishes. They are located on a fairly busy road, but they have their own small parking lot for customers only. If you're lucky you might find parking. Also, you can tell they cater to the local Vietnamese Buddhist community, because their menu discloses that they are able to omit onion or garlic for the super intense who believe onions and garlic are foods that excite passion. They were quickly to accommodate our large group of 10 by combining 2 tables. Please note there is an 18% service charge for parties of 6 or more. Huge family order! There were 4 Banh Xeos ($14.95/each) for the table to share, Bun Bo Hue ($13.95), Bun Rieu ($13.95), 2 Bun Thit Cha Gio ($13.95), Com Bo Luc Lac ($14.95), Bun Tofu Xao Xa ($14.95), Pho ($13.95), and my Banh Canh ($13.95). For drinks, there were mostly waters ($0.50/each NOT FREE), 2 Sua Dau Nanh ($3.00/each), Dau Xanh La Dua ($5.00) and 3 including one for me Rau Ma ($5.00/each). They forgot my banh canh with the original order, so they had to ask the kitchen to rush it. I munched on some of the shared banh xeos. The exterior was not as crispy as I liked and the filling was mainly bean sprouts. I'm not a fan of bean sprouts so I was removing most of the filling. When my food arrived it was less than impressive. If you are not familiar with banh canh it is a Vietnamese udon noodle made with tapioca so it has a slippery slurpiness. The bowl had imitation proteins, tofu, mushrooms carrots, broccoli and onions. The broth was not as flavorful as other vegetarian restaurants I have been to. I really did not like the imitation proteins. The tofu, mushrooms and onions were okay. I ate the broccoli to be healthy. My aunt was so funny she kept telling me she can make every dish better. It's true though. She really does. The meal was edible but it would be hard for me to come back when there are better vegetarian options out there. read more

I found myself searching for another veg Vietnamese place after TWO other places fell through because they were closed on Wednesdays (WHY Wednesdays??). Anyhoo, Golden Flower to the rescue! I was encouraged by their clean, expansive interior and high marks on Yelp. It was 11:30am and there were plenty of tables open, so I selected a booth by the window for our party of 4. Please note that this place is vegetarian and not vegan, meaning they will have egg and dairy in some of their items. Their Vietnamese coffee, consequently, was absolutely delicious. I've yet to find a dairy-free condensed milk alternative that's as satisfying. Between the four of us we split: - Dragon roll (was expecting it to be more crunchy-fried than chewy, but still tasty) - Taro cake with egg and onions (rather bland but saved by the accompanying sauce) - Noodle soup--I think it was Bun Rieu (pretty good but not a fan of the big chunks of tomato) - Pan-fried yellow noodles with "chicken", "beef", and veggies (pretty tasty with good fake meat) Overall we liked it, but it's no Hoa Sen, our first choice. Their menu didn't seem as diverse, either. They were out of passion fruit juice and curry on this visit, which was disappointing--maybe I'll get to try it next time. My two dishes that I order here is the noodle satay and bun thit nuong with cha gio. You be surprise that the food is vegetarian and the flavor is spot on and really good. This is my mom's favorite vegetarian restaurant. She's the pickiest person I know, so when she approves of a restaurant, it's good. They specialize in Vietnamese vegetarian cuisine. The food is authentic and delicious. I usually like getting the shaken beef rice dish (#37). The service is pretty quick here too and there's also plenty of indoor and some outdoor seating. I also got to try the corn milk for the first time and it was really interesting. It's soy milk mixed with corn and it has a subtle coconut milk flavor to it. The restaurant is located right next to Phoholic and there's a small parking lot right in front. I didn't think the two sauces would work but it reminded me of the steamed coconut rice cakes with fish sauce (bánh đúc) which is a personal favorite of mine. I was pleasantly surprised with the similarities and flavors. 9/10 Bun rieu - this tomato based soup with vegetation shrimp notes was VERY flavorful. I would order this again. It was comparable to a non-vegetarian bowl of bun rieu. 9/10 Hu tiêu - clean and flavorful broth but the hu tieu at Bộ Để Tinh tâm chay on Beach Blvd and McFadden is better (more unctuous, better portions and savory). The noodles here were quick to swell. We noticed the spoons here have a very strong smell of bleach and they were all sticky. After bringing the soup spoon full of soup to our mouths, the bleach smell was stronger than the smell of the food.
