The restaurant is bright and large, with tables to accommodate large and small parties. Comfortable and service is great. The vibe is casual. Do note that they are exceptionally busy during weekend lunch time, and Saturday mornings! Be patient and expect to wait for table, and food. The two times I came was on an early Sunday morning and a Friday morning, and both experiences were fantastic! Neither time was busy yet so we were quickly seated and served. Their food comes in large portions and the food is delicious. I can see how this is a local fave! Definitely better than your typical breakfast chains.

Sadly there was no chair for her to sit down on yet it didn't stop her from going to her regular spot for a Sunday brunch. She told me that she has been coming here for many years, even before it was called Sammy's. Has it been 30 years, she asked herself? Either way, she made it known that she is quite the regular. Very nice and friendly lady. These are the types of regulars that make the diner what it is. There is a sign in clipboard at the front, as soon as you walk in. You have to sign in as part of contact tracing in case there is an outbreak of COVID linked back to this establishment. Make sure you do not block the pathway from behind the bar, I didn't block it but a large family with several kids needed a place to stand in line and wait for a big table, because servers will get very mad at you and tell you "I NEED TO GET BY! DON'T BLOCK THE WAY!" But there is no where to stand when the lineup is 20 people deep. This is something to think about once the weather gets colder and there is a long lineup out the door. Perhaps takeout would be a better option than to be yelled at by the short haired waitress with tattoos? While I did not mind waiting and I had a book to occupy my time in the lineup and at the table before I was given the menu, I could see that this was obviously a rush time, prime time lunchtime at the diner, maybe others might be a little more impatient than me? I could watch a snail crawl for hours, patience is a virtue. The wait is very long to get seated and even longer to get food. While the food was pretty good, and the other server was very friendly, attentive and nice, I think they were short staffed that day and nothing is ever as instant as fast food. My advice would be to go here when you have the time to wait. Don't come here if you are in a rush. It's better to only come here when you have lots of time to wait.

WE ORDERED: - Liver and onions with bacon was pretty good; judging by the comments made by hubby, we will be coming back for this. - Side Salad - lettuce was limp, not the freshest. I would recommend getting a different side. - Saganaki - not only was this a yummy appetizer, the show was entertaining. Just make sure to let the staff know if you want to takes pictures or take a video beforehand; I forgot to tell our waitress, so by the time I whipped out my camera, the show was over. Amazing food and birthday week treat!…read more I came here during a weekday for my birthday week, and the atmosphere was nice and quiet with only a few tables occupied. The portions are huge, which is fantastic! I definitely recommend trying the croffle with strawberry and Nutella--it is the best combination ever--and I am completely obsessed with their tater tots. It is a tad overpriced for breakfast overall; I ordered a combo that included eggs, sausage, tater tots, and bread, and upgraded the side to a croffle, bringing my single meal to around $30 after everything. Despite the price, the massive portions and delicious food make it a great spot to treat yourself!
