Food was delicious... But the service was very poor. Poor server did not speak or understand English and didn't know how to actually serve.we had to ask for water utensils,plates, napkins. Dishes cames separately far apart.server said they didn't have egg rolls. Soup came half way through the meal. No sauces with the dishes. It was good but the girl should have had some training. I stopped in here for a bit of Saturday dim sum. Someone told me there was a better place than Cameron's lol. Parking in, the lot is unpacked with broken beer bottles. But looking around there were northern American luxury vehicles (Lexus varieties). The restaurant from the outside looks like a heritage home and there is a big sign that welcomes with a hand made dim sum. The interior was dated, with a tv broadcasting some Chinese food channel. So we order the ha gow, rice rolls, some congee. Frankly all the dim sum were the same pre made supplier for buffet, thick skin. Frankly there was nothing special, I rather go to Mississauga for premade dim sum, at least there's selection? Careful in the parking lot with the broken beer bottles. read more

This is one of the few dimsum places in KW - right beside City Cafe, the parking is at the back of the building. Don't fret when you don't see parking in front! The restaurant is small. it has maybe 8 tables, but royally decorated (purples and yellows). It looked clean enough and we were sat down promptly on a Sunday morning. The menu has quite a bit of variety, from steamed rice rolls and dumplings to deep fried items. They have chef specials that you can purchase outside of the dim sum prices. The prices range from $3 to $10 depending on whether or not the dishes are a small or XL or a SP (special) item on their menu. The dangerous thing about dimsum is that you order and don't know how much is actually coming. Dynasty's portions are quite large. Dumpling sizes are a good two mouthful, so you're definitely getting value for your buck. Now comes the food reviews: Pan fried turnip cake - HUGE. these are massive. Flavour is lacking though. All you taste is the lapcheong (which isn't a bad thing), and salt. There is a lot of flour in this turnip cake and it came to our table lukewarm. Har Gow - shrimp was fresh and tasty. the crystal shell was a tad thick but held together well Siao mai - this was delicious. probably one of the better items on the menu. It was full of pork flavour, juicy and tasty. It held together really well. Must have! Shrimp and Mushroom dumpling - lots of parsley/cilantro in this. The shrimp again is good, but the wrapper is a lot thicker than the har gow. The size of the dumplings are pretty good, but I would rather eat a few more har gow. Pan fried Dumplings - ok. So these were surprisingly huge. Make sure you ask for the vinegar - they don't give it to you automatically. The filling is pork, cilantro and cabbage. It's ok. Not the best that I've had. Slightly mushy, but I think that's from the wrapper not cooked enough. Rice Roll with Dough Fritters - This was DELICIOUS. The dough fritters are freshly fried so you get that amazing crisp, wrapped with rice rolls and then dipped into a sweet soy sauce. They do not give you a peanut sauce / hoisin sauce mix, but I personally find that the soy is enough. Egg tart - it was ok. The egg filling was not bad, the pastry was buttery. Xiao Long Bao -... disappointing. The filling was ok, but there was absolutely no soup inside of it. Do not recommend getting this dish at all. Overall, it's an ok experience. it took them a good 20 minutes to get us our first plate of food, luke warm. All that food came to about $60 with tip for 2 people and tons of leftovers. read more

I've never rated any place a ZERO before, but here's what happens when I get flat out lied to! I love Dim Sum and decided to try this place for a special Valentine's. Called and made reservations a week ago I'm disabled and so the first question out of my mouth is always about accessibility. I was assured that if I used my waker or scooter I was good to go. Chose my walker because it's easier and more convenient for my wife Showed up on time only to find IT'S TOTALLY INACCESSIBLE EVEN FOR MY WALKER. a bunch of too narrow too high steps for the walker. There's no bloody way way a wheelchair or scooter has ever been in there. How's the food or service ? I don't have a clue! Turned around and went elsewhere. I'm not generally big on complaining if a place is not accessible but tell me your place is accessible when it simply is not and I'M LIVID!!! read more

Probably the best dim sum in town. Cameron is always packed and busy parking is also pretty tough there. But since this spot is new, there is a place to park behind the restaurant. So parking won't be an issue. The food itself was pretty good. The shrimp didn't taste fishy and there was a good amount of meat in your dumplings. Our server was also very nice. We ended up paying $40 after tax but without tip, for about 7 dishes of dim sum. They have other food besides dim sum as well. Check out the new spot before it becomes mainstream ! If u want gigantic siumai and humongous pan fried dumplings, this is the place for u! They also have a reasonably sized parking lot in the back so u don't have to worry about that. Everything is hot and fresh, we had a great time and will def go back in the future!!! They charge u 1.5 CAD extra for tea, but it is free refill after. Their egg tarts and egg yolk buns were sold out when I went at noon, so if u like those make sure to go earlier! read more

Second time this new dim sum place in the Kitchener-Cambridge-Waterloo region. A family dim sum experience for six. Just as an aside, I always recommend as many people as you can sit at a table for the dim a experience but 6 is decent. Many dishes today. I think the star of the show were the beef tendons. So tasty and tender that even though I am not usually a fan due to the texture, today I truly enjoyed the dish. The siu mai were great (very large) hot and sour soup had a nice heat to it and the rest of the dishes were all made very well. The Chia siu buns were very good as well. (sorry for the misspellings). Overall the service is great the food is fairly good quality with some excellent dishes. And the restaurant is bright clean and welcoming. I hope you get to enjoy this latest addition to the region's dining hot spots. read more

I'm always surprised by the lack of variety in Chinese food in waterloo given the population, but it seems most restaurants cater to students who want a cheap and quick meal. Previously, I'd only get dimsum in Toronto or stick it out until I went back home to Vancouver. Came here on a weekend with 2 friends, and it does look out of place when you drive up - the sketchiness adds to the authenticity. Had some dimsum classics: har gow, cheung fun, siu mai, short ribs, fried rice, etc. Everything was actually quite tasty. Service was awkward and slow, even for Chinese dimsum standards. The biggest drawback was the price - $70 total and we each brought home a small leftover container of rice. I don't see myself coming back even though the food was good, as I can usually bear to wait a few weeks to leave the city for good food! read more

This is a good place, service is SLOW for Dim Sum, and I really do find it pricey. I agree with Sally's review below. I will go back, as she said there is not many places in the city for Chinese, considering the population in KW and the University crowds. Hamilton had wonderful Dim Sum and other dishes at Crystal Dynasty and the Iron Chef. For me KW does satisfy my Chinese food craving. Cameron has a terrible parking lot, food is very good but too pricey and hassle to get to. Let's get something spectacular on Fairway road....There is nothing there. read more

Have gone to this place various times with my son. The food was good and the service okay. They had no problem taking my money. Phoned to make a reservation for Christmas Day- was told no way, only reservations for 4 people or more. Went here twice over the past week (a bit much I know) THE BEST dimsum I've had in the KW region, it's like being back in Toronto. You can taste how fresh their food is. It's pretty clear that all of the dimsum is made in house and not imported from a factory somewhere. and the Congee is super flavorful. I went with a friend and both of us agreed that this place is worth coming back to :) by the way their prices are pretty fair too especially for the portion sizes and the atmosphere is cozy and homey. This is probably the best dim sum restaurant I've ever been to and is comparable, if not even better, to restaurants in the GTA. The food was fair to good at best the service was confusion in motion. Ordered 5 dishes plus tea got 4 dishes they all made it on the bill. From other posts on Yelp I decided to try this place. The first dish was a BBQ pie and it arrived fast and it was good second was shrimp rolls (5) lots of roll very little shrimp crunchy and Ok next was beef tenon the china dish was hot the meat was cold as in Cold another poster said they micro wave and I would say they do. Sent it back no problem they made it again and it did not look like the same dish reheated which is good. I had tried the first dish and after the Cold meat I did not try the second round my wife said it was good 4th dish was a egg bun very very sweet. the dish that did not arrive was sticky rice in a lotus leaf. We had 2 other dishes brought to our table we did not order they were moved to other tables ( this seemed to be happening a lot ) Asked for the bill pointed out the sticky rice on the bill but not on the table the answer was to bring a sticky rice to the table after the bill I said no it was not a problem they took it off the bill which was now 24 dollars. I would say by my meal this place will improve quickly or it will be gone. Not even close to being the best Dim Sum any where the food was OK but not great . I have crossed this place off my list YELP you got it wrong. Future posts will tell if they are getting better . Small place, parking was a mess when I was there, cars pointed in all directions very good chance to get backed into. I said to my wife I am sorry I wasted your time on that place. read more

The reviews for this place seemed really good so we thought we'd give it a try for Father's Day. It was a tiny place and not too packed (plus a bit hot). There were a few empty tables and a family waiting, plus a few more people came in after me. A male waiter looked at me but said nothing and continued doing whatever he was doing to the cutleries. I waited a few minutes to get help or to be acknowledged but didn't get any so I proceeded to inform the lady at the counter that we needed a table for 5. She then said, "Yes, you just go wait over there", and pointed back to the entrance. I've never been here before so I don't know if this was the norm but the way she waved me off just really turned me off so we left. Yelp said the service was great but based on this experience, I would say it is not. I'm NOT sorry that we won't get to try their dim sum. We won't be coming back and will be giving our business to a more deserving dim sum restaurant such as Cameron Seafood where the service staff is top notch and the food is delicious. read more
