We were looking for somewhere different to try, and I saw a few reviews before going here. One review was on the order of "extreme grossness, eat here and die" while the other was acting like it was the best Chinese food in all of Illinois. So it was only fair to give it a try hoping that reality would be somewhere in the middle. The parking lot was reasonably full which made me feel a little safer about entering. We paid as we entered which was a little scary since you could not see the food in the buffet from the register, but we took the chance and proceeded. What I ended up seeing was the most disgusting looking display of "Chinese" food ever! I mean ever! It looked like it was set up as a prop for the neighboring haunted house amusement show. The egg foo young (one lonely one in the pan) looked like a hockey puck, as did some items they were trying to pass off as Tilapia fish. Most of the other pans of assorted dishes were so picked over that the only thing left in them was some sauce and dried crunchy ends of meats and/or bones...yup, the inedible parts. ALL of the soups, sauces, and gravies had been sitting so long untouched that they were all congealed or just plain empty and glued to the bottom of the pan. Sadly, we paid our admission and had to eat something. There were plenty of mushrooms in several of the pans, so that was pretty much all I ate at the buffet. The final thing we witnessed that cemented that fact that we will never be back is when the staff members (I assume they are all family and/or related) decided to eat. No, they did not eat from the buffet items as the rest of us peasants did, they brought out their *own* freshly made pans of food from the kitchen and gathered around their own table to enjoy their food. The rest of us were made to suffer with the scraps. The irony in all of this is that the bits of food that we *could* find to eat were actually not too bad tasting, and we didn't get sick either (shocking). But you would be better off going to a "real" buffet like Golden Corral. read more

Since Covid, most Chinese restaurant's pricing has gone aggressively up- so I look for deals like this on DoorDash whenever I can. The delivery driver brought the meal to my door, there's an overhang by the front door and the hotel only has 3 floors...my hotel room was so close to the elevator the driver had issues finding it ha!
