I've visited this particular Golden Chic dozens of times because of the location and convenience. Unfortunately over the last few months quality and service has plummeted. Today I ordered a 3 peice strip meal. Not only was the order incorrect but the sides and gravy was piping hot, I couldn't consume for several minutes. I was so excited when Golden Chick opened up in Rowlett. I patronized them at least once a week. Well, sorry to say that the last 3 times the food was NOT GOOD. Strips overdone. Fish fillets were not fresh. Fries were very hard. I don't think that the current batch of employees have been trained about quality. Drive-thru and limited Dine-in right now, must wear mask to enter. Staff is pleasant & helpful, ready to get your order going! First time I ate at Golden Chick, I tried the Chicken Tender Salad $6.89 which was a huge green salad with cherry tomatos, grated cheese, grated carrots, and a few fresh brocolli florettes. Everything in this salad was Very Fresh! The lettuce had been selected without any wilted pieces. Above-average for fast food, and it was great. Next, the Cholula Chicken Tortilla Soup did not score the same points, no medals. The large is $5.99, not served like the advertisement shows. Kind of watery, but full of right ingredients... flavor was not restaurant quality. This one is more a marketing dept idea. Not bad, but I won't miss it when it goes. The tables here are sectioned-off for distance. They allow guests to self-serve their own drinks. Two restrooms, in good condition. Two big screen TV's in lobby, one with news. Several years ago when golden chick came to rowlett, I was so excited to have another restaurant in the neighborhood! The service and food were expectable. Well the honeymoon is over! I find the staff rude. Sometimes you are lucky if your order is correct. My husband said the chicken was over cooked! We need to find another Chicken Restaurant! This rowlett location keeps hiring immature employees who do not understand the value of a dollar. When you do not have the rowlett community supporting your restaurant any more, you can see it visually around the restaurant. Zero lines in the drive thru. Zero traffic in the parking lot. If you continue receive bad reviews, golden chick will close and the bad employees will lose their jobs. I expressed that information is not listed anywhere within the menu or establishment, and the opposite is actually what is advertised. The manager proceeded to argue and be rude with me. The drive thru line was long, so we decided to head inside to place the order. Glad we did too, they were well staffed and friendly. Just the kind of service you'd like to see for a newly opened location. I can't resist their rolls and the roasted chicken never disappoints. So, we are really glad we drove across town. We are also really hoping they have a long life here in Rowlett. This Golden Chick finally stepped up their game and added a chicken sandwich. This beats any chicken sandwich I've had. The lotta zing sauce they put on it is fantastic! Breading was crispy, large chicken breast cooked perfectly. Customer service was very good. read more

This place is a mess I won't recommend anyone going here. The manager Ike Ugo does not have very good customer service and all he cares is about his money. I order $97.17 worth of chicken and only received about half the order and the peices I received were old and dry. I tried calling them last night but they had already had closed so I tried calling all day but it kept telling me the voicemail was full. I went in person today and took him some of the pieces we had that where dry and old and he said he could only replace $28 worth. This is not the first time they do this. Last time I ordered from here we had to throw half of the tenders because they still had pink in them. While I was there they had customers coming in complaining about there orders. read more

I visited this place because it was close to home and ordered a three piece combo the combo stated it came with leg, wing and thigh. Pieces were small yet what I got was leg, wing and surely wasn't a thigh. To top it off the chicken was overcooked, dry and not worth the cost. Awful!!! Very poor customer service after purchasing a 16 piece family order and getting home to find that the rolls are completely undercooked and a big blob of dough. I called to let them know they are serving under baked rolls and asked for a manager. I got a response that there was no manager there and lots of giggles in the background. I had horrible experience at this fast food establishment! The worst customer service and food quality ever. My okras were all burnt and tenders were chewy. Not even warm at all!!! The girl at order station had her mask down below the chin and had her finger dipped in my drink. I asked her to replace my drink and the chick gave me a nasty attitude that made me NEVER want to come back anymore. Just got some chicken tenders. There was no zing sauce which should come with the meal. The chicken was horrible smelled and tasted like they burned something in the kitchen. This place went downhill fast. The first two months open, sandwiches were fresh, juicy and very tasty. Cars were lined up out to the street. It looked like a Chik Fil A drive through. The Cholula chicken sandwich was great two months ago, then last month, the regular sandwich and fries were great. Now, only a few cars and what you get is a STALE Dried up sandwich that has been heating too long. What a shame. There ought to be a time limit on how long a sandwich can be sitting there waiting for someone to eat it. We're done with this place, back to Chik Fil A. I just came back from ordering 20 minutes ago and was met with the most rude and ignorant service imaginable. The cashier rudely greeted me when I entered and maintained the same attitude through out the transaction. I let this go. After receiving my order the cashier was getting ready to give me my sauces. I couldn't quite remember the name of the zing(?) sauce and was trying to describe it. Then all of a sudden he snaps at me making fun of the fact that it slipped my mind and that I was wasting his time. He then proceeded to say that because of my behavior I wasn't going to get any sauces then dared me to report him. As he was raising his voice at me, the manager (some lady peaking in from the back) just sat there and did nothing. I try not to be a difficult customer, but this was thoroughly the most DISRESPECTFUL service I have ever had. The previous management was much more professional than this.
