I'm in a weird situation here... First off, let me say that the La Vernia location is always kind and the food is always great Bear with me till the end: Tonight I ordered delivery from Golden Chick through the Golden Chick app. The order tracking didn't update for a very long time, and then once the delivery window had passed, it randomly said delivered. I called the restaurant to let them know, and they told me my order hadn't been sent to them as a delivery order. There also wasn't any third-party pickup service associated with the order. They advised me to contact Golden Chick customer service directly and send someone to pick up the order. I submitted what I thought was a customer service ticket through Golden Chick, but when I went to pick up the order, I realized what I submitted must have been sent as a negative comment directly to corporate. They were extremely apologetic and I found out they had already been told they received a bad review/complaint, and it sounded like they were being blamed for it. It honestly took less time for corporate to receive my "complaint" and reprimand the location for something that wasn't their fault than it would have taken for my food to be delivered if the app had actually worked. I know this is a long story that could have been much shorter, but they deserve high praise. They were incredibly kind on the phone, and by the time I got to the restaurant to pick up my order, they had completely remade it so the food was fresh. Sorry for the confusion, Golden Chick in La Vernia. I'll be calling corporate headquarters tomorrow to let them know that what I sent was not meant to be a complaint, but a plea for them to fix the broken app that put all of us in this situation in the first place! read more

Golden Chick - 3 pc 5. Three Piece Southern Fried Catfish Combo. 20 shrimp and Dirty Rice. Fresh, hot and delicious. - Fast Food Near Me - La Vernia, Texas

Horrible service at the drive thru. Placed my order for a family pack of tenders and I could tell it was wrong by what price he gave me. Since no one was in line I pulled up and said "I think you got my order wrong" and he asked I then gave him what I wanted and he again, screwed it up! I said no, I want the family pack 12 piece tenders with two sides and drinks!! He then rung it up again and the price was way off, he rung up a 20 piece. I just drove off. I could tell if the drive thru is that messed up, the rest of it is a clown show too!! read more

I've been coming to this golden chick for the last few months, usually when I'm off work. I know a lot of people come to yelp to complain but I wanted to say I have zero complaints on this restaurant. I usually come and pick up lunch after work since it's right across the street. There's never a long wait time and the staff are so polite, I love the convenience this restaurant offers compared to others in the area. Usually at other food locations I have to wait 20mins just to order. I never have this issue with golden chick, they are fast and precise, not once have I had to go back in to correct my order. The restaurant has a clean appearance which is also really nice, food is never soggy or gross (this is a huge plus since I usually have to drive 25 mins home) love this store and their staff thank you for always being on top of what yall do ‍ read more

We have always had more than friendly service here. Great option for a quick dinner on busy nights.

I have not been impressed since they opened. It's been 9 months since my last visit. It wasn't a good visit either. So I am having g a bad day and decided some fried chicken might make it better. Wrong decision. Ordered curbside. After sitting there 10 mins I called only to be told that they don't do curbside. Strike 1. Ordered extra roll. Got it. But both rolls were flattened. Strike 2. Order mashed potatoes no gravy. Was more like potato soup with gravy on it. Strike 3. Order butter, it was open. Strike 4. No utensils to eat my soup. Strike 5. Chicken was actually between room temp and cold. Strike 6. Now I understand why they don't have a rate us option on the app. It would never have anything good on it. Never will I eat at a Golden Chick again. Poor food. Poor customer service. Poor presentation. read more

Great Food! Everyone was friendly. Food was nice and fresh! Try the tenders with the different sauces!

I went there today and the manager Donna was screaming and cussing at her employees. Very unprofessional on her part as well. I had my two young children with me and my child respected what Donna had said and it honestly is horrible on Donna's part. Will be speaking to upper management on reevaluating their Managers read more

Food was ok. But the lack of utensils is unacceptable. How are we to eat our sides? They did not have forks or spoons. Asked for a container to take my side home. One worker was gone for awhile and another one asked if I been helped. They got me the container that was right in front of them. How could you be out of utensils and not tell a customer? read more

Absolutely the worst service in any golden chick I've ever been to nobody in line waiting over 15 minutes still nobody to give me drive-through service so I left Big calling for 30 minutes and nobody answered the phone wouldn't recommend it to anybody read more

i like the flavor of the roasted chicken; however, when I ordered all white, I received a small breast and a wing. To me, a wing is not a piece of chicken--only about one bite of meat and you have to work at getting it off the bones. I remember now why I quit going there. --too expensive for one small piece of meat. It will be a long time before I give them another try. read more

Typical fast food chain. Soggy fried chicken that has set under a warmer . Hard mashed potatoes. Oh yeah, overpriced. They are neighbors with Taco bell so, that's a good match. Plenty other places to choose from ,just not this place. read more

I mean there's not many places to eat around here to start which is already an issue. so I expect the places here to be busy. however, EVERY time I have come to this place, the wait just increases every time. currently have been waiting for a kids meal for 15 mins. still haven't gotten it. just kind of ridiculous. but guess thats how it is out here. read more

The children that work here are very disrespectful. I came in and tried to find a table that wasn't gross and sticky. I asked someone at the counter to give me a wash rag so I could wipe the table, instead she wiped or leaving it all wet, and still gross and sticky. During my meal I went to the counter to get some honey, and was purposefully and completely ignored. Now I know why the older folks just come in and get it to go. Ok point taken So I won't ever go back, heck the damned ice cream dispenser did'nt even work. The place is useless. read more

My second visit to this place. I went through the drive thru at 3:45pm on a Wednesday. I ordered the gizzards and a chicken salad sandwich. I was asked if I wanted the 6pc gizzards only for $3.99 or the 12pc for $5.99. I went with the 12pc. They said the cooking time was 8 minutes which was ok with me. After 41/2 min my meal was somehow cooked and ready. I asked for ketchup and hot sauce which they made good on. There was Enuff ketchup and Texas Petes hot sauce( which is made on the East Coast. Go figure. ) to bathe a skunked dog in. When I got home I poured the gizzards onto a plate. The 12pc order seems to have been ' upgraded' to a 25 piece. Some were stuck together from the freezer, others were the size of grapes, and lastly, a few were the size of my big toe (not the best sounding analogy but accurate nonetheless ). After getting this fried fiesta poured out, ketchup, hot sauce and all , I naively popped some of that sweet organ meat into my mouth. HOLY $&!+. They were old gizzards re-dunked in old grease ( yuk). And I suppose they had a bunch of them bcuz like I stated earlier, their 12pc morphed into a25+ pc box of heartburn, heartache, and a general feeling of malaise with a touch of ' haha! We finally got rid of them nasty rubbery things'. Unfortunately, La Vernia doesn't have a large restaurant selection and when places like Golden Chick take advantage of this fact we all lose in the long run. Pardon me but my dogs are begging for me to take the leftovers out of their bowls. read more

I had such a positive experience with the woman that operated the drive though today and I just had to share! I was completely frazzled and preoccupied at lunch and mistakingly gave her a $50 bill (instead of a $5 bill) along with the rest of my money. She was honest and let me know my mistake! It makes me incredibly happy (some people may think this is no big deal), but in a world that can be so cruel and unkind to others it really and truly helped turn my day around. Thank you! read more

This is good food at a fair price! Quick service and the order has always been correct in the drive thru!

This place is good if you like chicken fried in old grease served with overcooked rolls served by people that dont care!

Hello, we just moved to La Vernia and we love it! I wanted to provide some polite constructive criticism for the Golden Chick which we love for a quick and easy meal when needed! We have eaten there twice. The first time we paid extra for 2 sides and they were not placed in our sack at the drive thru. I called to let the evening manager know and instead of an apology the person was very argumentative. So, yesterday we went it in for the to go order. We were the only patrons and it took almost 20 minutes to get our food and they were out of sweet tea. We did twice remind them about the tea and they did refill it finally right before we left. I checked the order not realizing that on one of the two dinners we ordered the roll was not placed in the box when we sat down to eat at home. The food was good, but the operation of the restaurant is very unorganized. The young man taking our order was friendly. I recommend getting some tips from the Golden Chick location in the Oak Hill area in Austin. They were prompt, efficient, friendly and delicious. The restaurant might be new here and maybe the kinks are being worked out. I hope so, as we do like Golden Chick very much! read more
