First off, let me say that…read morethe La Vernia location is always kind and the food is always great Bear with me till the end: Tonight I ordered delivery from Golden Chick through the Golden Chick app. The order tracking didn't update for a very long time, and then once the delivery window had passed, it randomly said delivered. I called the restaurant to let them know, and they told me my order hadn't been sent to them as a delivery order. There also wasn't any third-party pickup service associated with the order. They advised me to contact Golden Chick customer service directly and send someone to pick up the order. I submitted what I thought was a customer service ticket through Golden Chick, but when I went to pick up the order, I realized what I submitted must have been sent as a negative comment directly to corporate. They were extremely apologetic and I found out they had already been told they received a bad review/complaint, and it sounded like they were being blamed for it. It honestly took less time for corporate to receive my "complaint" and reprimand the location for something that wasn't their fault than it would have taken for my food to be delivered if the app had actually worked. I know this is a long story that could have been much shorter, but they deserve high praise. They were incredibly kind on the phone, and by the time I got to the restaurant to pick up my order, they had completely remade it so the food was fresh. Sorry for the confusion, Golden Chick in La Vernia. I'll be calling corporate headquarters tomorrow to let them know that what I sent was not meant to be a complaint, but a plea for them to fix the broken app that put all of us in this situation in the first place!

(I should've taken a pic) ‍ The containers at other pumps were all dry & only one actually had a squeegee in it. They were all gross. There weren't any paper towels in mine or the one next to me. I think that if I'm putting over $50 of gas in my car at a gas station, the least they can do is fill up a container w water & have an available squeegee so I can clean the bugs off my windshield. On top of this irritation, I hit the button that YES I wanted my receipt. I stood there & waited.... No receipt. So, I guess they won't even put paper in their machines. No, I didn't want to go inside to get my receipt. I shouldn't have to. Also, the trash cans were full & bugs were swarming. Yuck! Other than being able to get gas (which is a fortune everywhere but it's def raised in small towns), this gas station is terrible. The price on the pump is .25¢ less a gallon bc I used my Shelll Fuel Rewards card & I got 25¢ off each gallon during this fill up. The pump handle was nasty too. I wish I'd had hand sanitizer in my purse. The gas station definitely didn't. My recommendation, try to get to H‑E‑B a few mins down the road before 11pm if you are in this area.

Still, I ended up having to wait the full hour because the staff couldn't see or verify any future orders until the printed ticket came through. Even when I showed my receipt with the order number, timestamp, and store location, they weren't allowed to give me the sandwiches until the ticket printed. The employee was polite and was just following the rules, so this isn't about her. The real issue is the system and lack of flexibility. There should be an easier way for staff to look up a paid order, or for the Subway website/app to offer a solution when someone needs to adjust their pickup time after their order is placed. Being stuck waiting an hour for something that was already paid for feels really inconvenient when it could be fixed with better access or training. Hopefully the store or Subway's system can make this process smoother in the future.
