Food was hot and the roast chicken taste great with plenty of flavor and seasoned nicely. Service was pretty good at the window and the ambiance was wonderful at the drive thru. read more

I've never been here before and I have yet to try the food however the lady that took my order was the sweetest person ever. It's rare to go to a fast food place and have someone that cares and wants to make your experience enjoyable. She was so kind and gave me recommendations. I wish i knew her name because the world needs more people like her. read more

Golden Chick (First Time Visit & I'm Hooked!) Let me start by saying -- this was my first time ever trying Golden Chick, and I'd heard so many great things... but oh boy, they did not disappoint! From the moment we walked through the door, the experience was top-tier. The female manager greeted my husband and me with the warmest welcome, making us feel genuinely appreciated for coming in. That alone set the tone -- I knew right then we were in for something special. The location was easily accessible and inside was clean and the bathrooms were very clean as well (as noted when I washed my hands). We ordered a family meal to go, and the young man at the counter was a true gem! He patiently helped us walk through the menu, never rushing us, and encouraged us to take our time. That level of customer service is rare these days and so appreciated. Now let's talk about the food -- WOW. The chicken was fresh, juicy, crispy, and absolutely delicious. I haven't had chicken this good in a long time. The family-size fries and fried okra were piping hot and full of flavor -- clearly made fresh to order. But the star of the show? Those warm, golden, fluffy yeast rolls! We got four with our meal, but I ordered extras because I knew my family would be fighting over them -- and I was right. Slathered in honey and butter, they were so good they almost made me fall out! Golden Chick definitely has a new fan in me. The food was fresh, the prices were affordable, the staff was incredible, and we left with full bellies and happy hearts. read more

We were craving friend chicken after a visit to a doctor nearby... And when we need an emotional, and spiritual, pick-me-up, we go for something perhaps a little less healthy. We saw the Golden Chick, and thought, "Perfect!" It was good. Managed a deal by going for a big combo... Plenty for two to eat. Even took some home. Bottom line: The chicken machine gave us a chuckle. I wish I had some change. Maybe the cashier had a token? read more

Golden Chick - Got a quarter, for the chicken? - Fast Food Near Me - Hudson Oaks, Texas

Order a 12 piece with two sides online with additional fried okra on June 7, 2025 to celebrate my birthday with his family. Did not get sides and chicken was horribly DRY. Think it was heat lights for hours. Fried okra was hot and over steamed in box all soggy, no crunch. Was completely embarrassed serving this to them. read more

Golden Chick - The store - Fast Food Near Me - Hudson Oaks, Texas

For a fast food chicken place, I give these people great marks. Also the manager at this location was very interested to ensure that everyone was pleased with their order and experience. It was interesting to try the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. It was a good combination of heat and sweet. I was pleasantly surprised. read more

Ordered the wings with the "dust". I asked if it's spicy and was told yes. Needless to say they weren't. Also the size(see photo) was a joke. Looked they used baby chicks. Should have gone across street to Wing Stop..... read more

Golden Chick - This is the 9 pieces....seriously? Should have gone across the street to Wing Stop.zz - Fast Food Near Me - Hudson Oaks, Texas

I went to Golden Chick in Brownwood Texas, and it was not a good experience. I paid 17.83 for dried out chicken that had to have been at least 3 hours old, the Mac and cheese was almost burnt. The best thing was the side salad, tea, and the roll. The rest was disgusting. Couldn't eat the chicken, after the first bite, it was so dry, and tough, you had to chew it, for at least 3 minutes, just to get it to go down without choking on it. I usually eat there whenever I go to Brownwood, and most of the time the food is great, I don't know what happened this time. read more

Ordered 25 piece tender family meal, requested barbecue dipping sauce instead of gravy. We got 4 dipping sauce....4 for 25 pieces. When I went inside requesting for more sauce had to pay 1.88 for 6 more barbecue dipping sauce. So after spending $45 on the meal, we still had pay for dipping sauce that should have been included. read more

It's a average chicken joint what do you want me to say? Oh they have fried catfish if hot and fresh is ok. Chicken salad is decent. There!

Not sure if ownership has recently changed, but this location has come a long way the last few years! Golden Chick used to not be on our menu, but now it is about to surpass Chicken Express!! Keep up the good work GC of Hudson Oaks. read more

The workers were rude a rushed me while I was ordering. I was the only person there at 5:30pm and it took them 30 minutes to make my order. I won't be coming back read more

First time ever trying this place; it was great! All of our food was very fresh and hot. The staff were very friendly as well. Definitely will return to this location in the future. read more

Just moved to Hudson oaks .. Decided to try the wicked wings , they are delicious and fresh .. the atmosphere is nice and clean ..

I have now been to this place twice, both times trying the fried catfish, normally my favorite. It was freshly cooked, but the fish itself was old and spoiled, both times. This is probably caused by poor management trying to stretch the stock. Plus, obviously the grease was old. This place needs a new and better manager, who can teach the employees about proper food storage and grease use. The employee who took my order was polite and friendly, but this is meaningless if the food itself is spoiled. They need to *stop* before they make someone sick. I also ordered cole slaw, but I couldn't bring myself to try it, since it had been placed upside down in my box, perhaps to make it appear freshly made? Have lunch somewhere else. read more

The food is great and the employees are so nice at this location! The service here is 10x better than any other golden chick I've been to. Also had a very speedy and efficient experience! We will return. EDIT: I only quickly glanced over my food but once actually looking it was obvious they care about customer satisfaction. I always order a six piece spicy tender and at any other location I've been they either just throw spicy packets in or do a poor job of spreading the zing powder. Upon my further inspection I was very pleased to see that each of my tenders were fully coated in zing powder! Can't wait to dig in! read more

went in to order and sit to eat was making my drink when a cockroach came crawling out of the straw holder

The best in town love love it . Everyone needs to eat here always hot fresh food highly recommended to everyone the to go spot here in Hudson oaks read more

The chicken was hot, but that was the only good thing. You could tell from the crust on the chicken that the fryer oil needed changing. The dirty rice was a sodden lump the consistency of cold oatmeal - it had been on the steam table WAY too long. Same for the green beans - they were disintegrating into mush. This place used to be a LOT better. Chicken E next time. read more

Wow, great service and a very friendly staff. Food is fresh the sweet tea tastes like it's from grandmas house and the place is clean. Keep up the good work! read more

Last week I went through the drive through and ordered a 3 piece all dark combo with a side piece of fish. Once I got home to willow park I realized my order was completely wrong. All white meat and I don't eat white meat. I called the store and spoke to the manger just to let them know they need to pay attention. I did complement them on how nice the girl was at the window. The manger remembered my order and apologized said the girl was new who packed the order. No biggie! It happens. The manager said they have a complaint board and to make it up she would put my name on the board and my order and anytime I come in I could get the makeup order free. Well today (8.17.18) I was in the area and decided to stop. I was greeted by K.J. (Another manager) she was nice until I told her I was picking up a free meal and it was due to a complaint. She instantly had an attitude and her entire body language changed. She asked me over and over what the complaint was. I told her that it was because my order was wrong. I told her my info should be on the board. Then I told her exactly what the mishap was. She tells me that they don't usually get orders wrong. I respond asking her if she is stating that I'm lying about a $9 meal? Meanwhile I'm standing in front of her with a 4 carat diamond ring on my hand!!! And I say THAT to say i can buy my own damn meal! I guess because I'm Black I must have been lying about them messing up my order to get something free!!!! She tells The young lady next to her (who observed her being sooooo rude and tried to make conversation with me. She was super friendly) to give her a pen to scratch my name out. I ask her for her name and the number to corporate. She tells me find it on the website and forcefully throws 3 pieces of chicken in a box and shoves it in a bag and slides it to me. RUDE!!!! RUDE!!! RUDE!!! I love golden chick but they will never get another dime of my money. Train you mangers, owners, associates to deal with customers better or keep them in the kitchen where they don't deal with the public!! RUDE!!!!! read more

This is my favorite fast food chicken. Traditional and consistent. The best part about coming here is the staff. Everyone is friendly, professional, hard-working, and courteous. The owner is one of the kindest people I have ever encountered. She is nothing short of amazing!!!! read more

The food is great, our orders are right when we come here but DAMN the customer service is shock worthy...upper management really needs to intervene at this location because one of these days they're gonna offend the wrong person. read more

We randomly stopped by this location during our 1st trip to Possum Kingdom lake. This location was busy (but very efficient) and I definitely know why. I have been to many golden chick and this location tasted like a restaurant quality food vs fast food. The employees (particularly the Asian lady at the cashier) was extremely nice. She gave us fresh chicken strip straight out of the fryer. In fact, everything we ordered was fresh and hot. Additionally, the quality of the chicken was big and moist not like other locations. Great location that definitely takes care of their customers! Will be our go to place every time we make a visit to PK lake! read more

Awesome location. So friendly and welcoming. Great food and amazing service. My son was treated to the chicken game. The cashier even gave him an extra toy. It was also clean. read more

When we travel through Hudson Oaks we try to stop in here. We usually grab a family meal and spears it out over the week. They have the best service ever. Always pleasant and hot and fresh. Drive through. I don't normally eat fast food but this was close to a home cooked meal! I was tired after work and didn't feel like cooking. I picked up a mix of fried and roasted chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes, yeast rolls, and ice tea. Basically, this was perfection to my super starved belly and very satisfying. Left overs of course are always a plus in my book! Good for the price! Quick! read more

Ok so I'm not a huge fast food person, but I mean- damn. The fried chicken here is juicy, crispy and not the faintest bit greasy. The sides are typical for the venue EXCEPT for the dirty rice which is abs fabs. I find myself craving it to the point of hitting the drive thru just to get that. The folks at this location are super friendly. It's for sure worth a trip for a quick supper for the family. Also- the rolls are a really good accompaniment to the fried yard bird. read more

What a tasty food. Chicken is hot and spicy. For sure I will be back.i have been to other places but this one is so good.

So the chicken and sides are very good. The customer service when the manager is there is great, makes us want to eat there.
