The frito pie, chili cheese dogs and chocolate malt shakes were delicious! The employees were so kind. We waited about 10 minutes for our food. Not long at all! We will be returning customers! read more

Can't improve, needs a gut and start over. Such a shame great land mark. Dirty and yucky, nice lady trying her best. read more

Nice little hole in the wall for a good grilled burger. I will say that the burgers could be a little better if they had a better seasoning cause there was not much of salt and black pepper. I came, I ate and this is the review read more

Malt Shop - Cheeseburger combo with french fries - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Weatherford, Texas

Patty melt burger had no flavor I told them mayo but had no mayo so very dry. Malt was just average for a place called "The Malt Shop" which is why I stopped. read more

My husband and I stopped after grabbing lunch from a local bbq spot. A 30 min wait for a milkshake is crazy work! Apparently they go in order no matter what you ordered. Which Is nuts. If a family of 3 ordered meals. And all I ordered was a milkshake why you can't make it real quick?? It's 3 teens working and no adults. That could be the problem. It wasn't even busy. A hand full of people. read more

Come for the Malt and stayed because of the nice employees. Got a couple of burgers, fries, tots and a chocolate malt. The nice employees made this experience a little better. The burgers were a tad underwhelming and can be gotten at any Whataburger. The fries were not crispy and almost seemed stale. The tots were very good though. The chocolate malt was fabulous though. From time that I got there to the time I got my food the wait time was around 1 hour. The staff was very apologetic about the situation. read more

This place is terrible. The girl at the window was incredibly rude, and we had to pull up to a parking spot to wait on onion rings! I was told they would bring it out to me but the girl said they was to busy. The line had two customers in it. I was willing to look past this and write it off as a lazy teen, but then comes the food. The drinks tasted as if they have never cleaned their fountain lines and the onion rings had zero flavor! I wouldn't recommend this place at all which is very unfortunate seems like a missed opportunity. read more

This place has gone down the tube! Loved this place but not sure what happened. The food was inedditable. Hamburger bun was greasy and smelled horrible. Waited 30 min for our food. All around . If you try this place, be ready to be disappointed. Won't be back read more

Good shake but not worth the 30 minute wait. Whatever system they have going on is not working. Crazy wait times

Been coming here for years... and the new ownership has changed so much!!! Two times ago... I got a BLT with Mayo and not mustard as ordered. Last time they didn't cut a grilled cheese in half for a kid. I tore it in half... This time I realized we aren't charging menu prices... we are upcharging from what the menu actually says and nowhere does it say Cash Prices on Menu... no where does it say anything of the such. But according to the very young manager, it says cash pricing on Facebook. Not sure if I will come here again... there are other small businesses that can add a simple "Cash Price" to their menu. Signs are important... and they should match and reflect what is said... $5 for a BLT plus another .20 for my debit card is a lot.... Then a small order of pickles listed at $3.50 and I may get 10 pieces... and upcharged to $3.64. I could have gone and gotten cash hidden from my truck. I wanted the option to decide and that was taken.... Then you have the snarky manager with the nose ring who has no business being a snarky manager. Food isn't exactly what we call freshly fried... unless we call it freshly fried from the freezer. This is literally with everything. Their ice cream malts are good but cost about $7 a malt. We are being priced out and can't even get nice customer service for the high lunch bill. She now wants to blame the kid behind the register because he didn't ask cash or card. .34 cents difference ... adds up when everyone is doing it and the choice for me to pick is taken away. Which that just happened... The hidden crap... just add menu cash and cc prices... not that hard. Could be simply 3% price increase for debit and credit transactions. But not there and not even close to obvious and everyone is looking at me... so not going back to get the menu pic... but if the owner cares... they will see this, own it and make the changes that are way past simple. read more

Malt Shop - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Weatherford, Texas

Took a longer way home from Mineral Wells to Ft. Worth to try the revamped Malt Shop. We were craving their yummy shakes and malts, still delicious! The staff taking our order was just about the rudest person I've ever dealt with. Pretty bad that a total of a 5 minute interaction has put us off coming there again. read more

20 min for hot dogs and a burger- and still waiting....unacceptable. Malts are different too.... Don't waste your time, keep the memory of when this place was cool to come to!! They even give you coupons to OTHER restaurants- if Bahama Bucks and TX Roadhouse think this is the place to advertise- don't go there either! read more

We went for ice cream and malts yesterday afternoon. Such a great little nostalgic spot. I like that the picnic tables are covered. The staff was friendly too. read more

We waited in the drive through for an order of fries for over 30 minutes we were the only car, there was 6 other people at tables all with shakes. I asked after 15 minutes and was told they were ready and another guy came back in another 17 minutes with our cold fries. never again not the first time something like this has happened. read more

Always a great burger and shakes. Usually fresh and hot. Would like to see longer ice cream hours. Really glad they put a new parking lot and all the staff is friendly. Bring back breakfast it was great. read more

Love this place! Slide back into a 50's vibe and park your car under an undercover. You have to get out and go to window to order, and if you like you can even watch them make your food while you sit on a picnic bench. Of you can ever time it right, one of my favorite times to go is when you have a good rain going on that's missing a breeze! Love to sit outside and eat while you hear the rain hit the undercover! Fun! Burgers are good! They are thick and more of a homemade style. But the shakes are fantastic! lots of flavors, and I prefer them over Braum's and Sonic. Really good! Fine the Malt Shop a 5 star rating because the nostalgia they've preserved is all but gone these days. Definitely worth a trip and I don't consider this fast food. This is Americana! Great and thanks Malt Shop for preserving this old culture for us. read more

Left us standing there for almost 20 mins. Workers just standing around. Something abt the register not sending things to the kitchen that is 2 feet away. We could still pay, instead of making us stand there they could put our order in, pay us out, and write the order down and give it to the cooks. There was only 3 other customers there compared to the almost 10 workers. We just ended up leaving. Edit: In the 20mins we stood there, no we didn't get to speak to anyone because no one would talk to us, not any we will be right with you or any apology for the wait or explanation to why we where standing there. Adding onto the fact one older lady was fussing at the two youngest (the only ones trying). I assume because they are being trained, even so you don't talk to your workers that way. Please consider what I said abt writing the order down, As long as you can still pay for your food through the machine, which they could do. read more

Well it's official the old Malt Shop is no more! We've been going there for 30 years, every year on our way to Poolville. I guess since our visit in 2025 it was taken over by new owners. Not as good as it was! Very disappointed. Fries no idea what or how they make the fries, bun was hard, patty was a lot thicker & the old malt shop taste was gone. What a shame! Maybe that was why all the cars were down @ Skinny's. Will really miss it! We looked forward to eating there every year! read more

Cheeseburgers were good but I'd put them in the middle of the pack or so - behind Kincaid's and Grumps and maybe a couple other places. Fries were okay but didn't knock my socks off. Service was cheerful and prompt. read more

Ok so you get a 2 for not having drive thru ordering so people with mobility issues could order also It took over 45 min to get my order and then the fry's were cold Unless your willing to sit in your car don't go if you see more than 10 s and expect to sit at a table It's great that you've kept the ambiance of the place but could you maybe add a couple of bathrooms read more

If you're looking for a old fashion hamburger place with no-frills this is the place for you. I had a cheeseburger, onion rings and a strawberry milkshake. The cheeseburger and onion rings were ok nothing to get excited about . But my strawberry milkshake was delicious! I would definitely go back and skip the meal just get a large milkshake!! read more

AWESOME BREAKFAST TACOS!!!!!!!! When I saw that they sold them by the dozen(s), I figured they must be good. I was right. j1

My husband and I are both handicapped and we tried to order a burger thru the window and they refused to take our order. The lady said we would HAVE to walk to the window and then when they call our order we could get back in line and come pick up our food. If there are people in line by the time we do that our burger would be cold. They don't want anyone handicapped or not able to walk up and get their food. That's a shame. We used to go there before the new owners changed the policy. read more

Terrible customer service, upon getting to the drive thru window the lady working couldn't be bothered to acknowledge me, let alone say hello. As for taking my order it was like pulling teeth. Plus the food/malts are just okay, you can definitely tell they are different. Wouldn't waste my time or money at this establishment again. read more

Service was terrible. I paid for a chocolate malt and they gave me a cup of basically choc ice cream. I asked them to make it thin and was told to let it melt. It's 40 degrees outside it's not just going to melt. I then went back again and asked them to remake it. The young man with big hair the argued with me for a solid 3-4 mins after telling me to buy another one. The manager then told him to make me a new one, which was a tiny bit thinner, but no malt. I waited for 30 mins for one cheeseburger. read more

Iconic restaurant with classic American cuisine throughly enjoyed and would recommend

Great food! Delicious :) Love this Parker county gem A must eat at place , great cheeseburgers read more

The malts weren't like they used to be. I remember the food and malts being amazing, but now it's kind of sketchy

This is only the second time I've been since the Malt Shop changed hands and I was disappointed. The service was good and I got my coney fairly quickly, but I finished it before I got my large chocolate malt. So, I took the malt to the truck to have on the way home. It tasted like ready freeze out of a machine, barely any chocolate flavor, and not even a hint of malt. Bring back the real malts and I'll come back, but until then I'll stick to Braum's. read more

We couldn't wait to try the newly revived Malt Shop. The food was good, but a 40-minute wait for burgers wasn't what we had in mind. Marsha H. read more

We took a ride in the country and some friends said we had to stop here. I'm so glad we did. This was a little taste of history. On a Saturday afternoon is was definitely busy. So be prepared to wait but it's well worth it. There's a old school drive thru that creeps along because they make it to order. We ordered from the walk up window and enjoyed some great classic tunes that plays outside. There's pretty much everything in the menu too. We ordered a couple cheeseburgers, fries and onion rings. Then my wife had a vanilla malt and I chose the strawberry shake. There's plenty of room at the picnic tables that are under a cover too. It all came out about 29 minutes later in a brown paper bag. The burgers were really good and especially liked how they toasted the buns. Now my fries weren't bad but nothing to write home about. Let's talk about those AMAZING onion rings. I could order just those and make a meal out of them. Incredible flavor and great crunchy outside. I loved my star berry shake. Got the small and couldn't have made enough room for the large. My wife said her vanilla malt were awesome too! All this for around $25. That's cheaper than ordering the same at McDonald's. Love that they are reasonable. There will be another visit in our future. read more

Legendary burger joint with great food and shakes. I've been eating here since I was a kid. It's not a chain, it's not picture perfect, and it's not shiny and new. But it's still a great place to eat at, and it's always on my list when I visit my hometown. read more

I've only a had a shake here, several times. Last time I went with the Black Licorice Shake. If you like black licorice, it's and interesting shake. Also good is the Peach Shake. Heading to the Peach Festival, in Weatheford? Great time to stop in for a shake, or a malt. read more

Old Timey burger joint. Family loved the food and the feel of what a burger joint should be. They even gave some ice cream out to the locals with dogs. Wonderful experience read more

A staple from the time my mom was a child. Her grandma would drive her here from Fort Worth to enjoy a malt or a milkshake. Finally under new management in recent years, the Malt Shop is making a come back with class. I had the cheeseburger, fries, and a Peach Milkshake. The cheeseburger was delicious but let's be real the star of the show was really the Peach Milkshake. It was thick, it was creamy, and it was made with fresh Weatherford peaches. I love the feel of this place, it truly brings you back in time. If you come here do yourself a favor and PLEASE order a malt, milkshake, or ice cream. It is their specialty and they do it right. read more

Banana Shake/Malt Chocolate Shake Steak Fingers (comes with fries, Texas toast & white gravy) Chicken Fingers (comes w/ fries, Texas toast & white gravy) I've been coming here since I was a kid - after moving out of state it's a stop out of the way when we have time and this place is stuck in time. Delicious, made to order, delicious although I will say this time when I ordered the banana shake, it was more yellow and seemed to be made with banana flavoring vs real bananas like I remember... maybe this is a change, maybe I'm getting older. Either way it's worth the stop! read more

Great Service!!! Very happy with how yummy my burger was! Thanks Malt Shop!!! 100% recommend.

We've been stopping at The Malt Shop for more than 20 years. Their milk shakes and malts cannot be beat ANYWHERE. This drive-in is truly old school and they offer the usual items including burgers, fries, tater tots, chili dogs, steak finger baskets, etc. The staff has always been friendly and the prices are more than fair. Old school gems like this are from a different era. We are lucky to be able to share places like this with our children. read more
