Man I was disappointed today I have always came here with my kids they loved it but here lately they have dropped the ball big time and with a chicken competition right next door that treats you like family. Point is they honestly need to step it up if I pay $29 for two meals please don't give me chicken nugget size strips and please for the love of you know who never serve hard yeast rolls. We went to Golden Chick in Granbury last night for the first time. We entered the restaurant at 8:30 PM on a Saturday night and it was empty. We placed our order and waited 15 minutes for it to be ready (to go). The one employee we saw (the counter order taker) was polite and reasonably friendly. The place was clean and tidy inside. We got home five minutes' drive later and tried the food. The chicken was amply coated in a very thick crunchy coating but had 0% seasoning or salt so was very bland. It was reasonably moist though/not dried out. The tiny container of mashed potatoes (instant) - so called "family sized" contained maybe only 1-1/2 cups of thick pasty potatoes. It came with a very tiny separate container of the very pasty/like glue and tasteless "gravy" (maybe 1/3 cup?). The four dinner rolls were pretty good but tasted a bit stale. The only real decent food was the fried okra that was served in a fairly generous "family" portion size of about 2 cups' worth. Again, not salted but at least was piping hot. $35.00 for this "family sized" 8-piece mixed fried chicken meal. We won't be back. read more

stopped in the drive thur today order fish shrimp combo and a 4 pc fish combo live 15 miles away got home no shrimp anywhere and one pc fish the 4 pc was a 3 pc i pd 31 dollars for 1/2 of what i ordered called did not offer a refund just well stop by if i have some shrimp i will give you the shrimp and 2 pcs fish! what a joke not driving 30 miles for that but just fyi the fish are tiny pcs and tuff they were not good mac n cheese was and the roll so i think it was an expensive lesson learned! would not eat here again would not give any stars but had to give one to post a review read more

It's been a while since we ate here. And since then I have had takeout from another more famous "chicken place", near the square. That recent experience left me two things, 1) less impressed with the B place, and 2) more impressed with this G place. Chicken was hot, fresh and tasty. Dining room (pre-Covid) was nothing special. Just a fluorescent lit room, but it was clean. We both agreed, we'd rather eat at Golden Chick, than have take-out from the B place. I love this location! Golden Chick is my favorite! The staff are very friendly and even gave my dog a small chicken tender as a lil treat :) The food is always awesome and comes out quickly. Spicy tenders and okra are my go to! Their spices are my favorite. Nothing bad to say! If you love chicken tenders and sweet tea, great place! read more

Me and my husband tried their new Big and Golden Chicken Sandwich today with Mac and cheese and fried okra. We both thought the chicken sandwich was very delicious! It comes with pickles and a special slightly spicy sauce. The chickens were both huge, larger than the bun. My hubby thought it was better than Popeyes. I disagree but it was pretty darn good. The sweet teas and Mac were good also. However, the fried okra was half old and half fresh. Instead of trying to pawn off the old okra onto me with a few freshly made ones they should've just given me all fresh and I would've given them a higher rating. Short cuts have consequences. Realistically, keep in mind though every time a restaurant releases a new item it's always super great and places put their best foot foreword in the beginning but then quality drops off down the line so will try again another day bc still I'm stilmad about the okra. Update: Two Stars Went there again today and ordered the exact items. It was the only thing I ate today. The okra was not fresh again and it gave me a painful stomach ache and diarrhea. I had skipped breakfast and dinner and this was the only meal i ate today. My husband had 3-4 pieces and he got acid reflux. The chicken sandwich was not as tasty as last time either, hard edges. Me and my brother order food in the to go walk in the lobby section and the dinning room was closed i understand that i payed for my food with the cashier while i was waiting for 5 minutes of my time when manger came out very aggressively attitude told us to leave due to no mask while waiting but her self didn't have a mask on, what example is that among us customers , if they didn't want us customers in the lobby they should of close your doors completely so we dont walk in, i enjoy eating at this restaurant great food but not the service, the manager gives you aggressively attitude but before all this happened the cashier was happy to attend us didn't mention nothing over face mask and attend me and brother well i don't recommend this place and unsatisfied customer read more
