I cannot believe I've never been to one before. We were in town for a cold baseball game at the college and just wanted to grab something quick on the way out of town. Tried a couple places, but they were closed (and in the area of the chick). Figured, what the heck, lets try it. The wait was long (20mins i think), but it was really worth it. I don't know if its the quality of chicken, the batter or the cooking process, but whatever it is, I'm hooked. I only ordered a 3 piece tender and by the time I had reached the edge of town, I wished I had ordered a heckuva lot more. read more

We stopped here looking for lunch/dinner. Never been here. The food was the best we have had from a fast food restaurant. The owner/manager was great. We had chicken tenders. Cooked perfect, meat was very tender. We also tried the cat fish and shrimp. Also cooked perfect. They make their own tarter sauce. Delicious! This is a place to stop and try. Golden Chick (previously known as Golden Fried Chicken), is one of my all-time favorite fast-food joints in Enid. I always try to make it a point to stop here when I'm in town to get a Real Deal with okra. This meal consists of fried chicken tenders, gravy, and okra. With that, I usually get a strawberry soda. It's delicious and cheap. The only issue is, the food is incredibly bad for you (right along with other fast food joints in Enid). Due to this, I usually never fulfill my desire to stop by when I'm in town, realizing that my stomach will later start a revolution. I am from Enid Oklahoma, but make my home in Portland, Oregon. Every time I came home , the first place I want to go is Golden Chick . They know how to make Chicken Strips right . 14 years ago this was a great place to get a meal (at the old location). This new location started out as good as the old. The chicken was great and I used to wake up in the middle of the night wanting a pile of it. Times have changed... The service it slow and the employees act like your disturbing them. The food quality has gone from great to poor. And they stores themselves are filthy. I really hated seeing this happen, Golden Chick was a weekend treat, now it''s just a good memories turned bad. read more

Everytime we come here the chicken is always crunchy and hot and fresh. The sides are always hot that you can still see the steam and the bread rolls are so moist and warm and buttery the people here work very hard to privide good customer service and believe me of you want good crunchy delicious chicken this is definently the place. read more

Normally i finish my food wherever i go, but this food was just kinda gross. The fries were the reason i gave it an extra star. This was my second opportunity to eat Golden Chick and I was as satisfied the second time as I was the first. I ordered the number one with macaroni and cheese, a dinner roll, four chicken strips, and gravy. The service was on point. Sky was the worker who took out order. He was very helpful and friendly. I asked which side he would recommend and he said dirty rice. I'm not a dirty rice fan, but he gave me sample anyways. It was so good! Much tastier than the picture depicts. My dining partner feasted on the six piece chicken. He loved it and used the spicy shaker located by the counter. On the way out we grabbed some of the ice cream, which was also excellent. The interior was clean and comfortable. I fully enjoyed my experience. read more

good food, over priced, rude staff!!! For a smaller family meal you get gravy but no potatoes. I thought i was getting 16 tenders, one side, and 4 rolls but it's only gravy. No potatoes! I love this place everything about their food is good especially the rolls. This place is 100x better than KFC and I'm pretty sure its even cheaper. They have a nice new building which made me love it even more. the old one was gross and falling apart the whole place seems so much cleaner now! They also deliver which is a bonus. read more

We usually order the 9 piece catfish. Tonight's catfish was half the size of what they previously have served. I called back to let them know how shocked we were with size of each piece of catfish. They informed me they have a new supplier. When they cut the price in half I might return. read more

Horrible customer service . The other day I was placing an order @ the drive thru window . I was greeted by the employee as usual and I responded with " Hi thank you ! May I take a minute to look over your menu ? " I never got a response back so I proceeded to look over the menu . When I was ready to place my order I said " ok may I have ...." No response back so I said " hello ?" N she snapped back " well u said give u a min in the such an abrasive tone " . I noticed @ this moment it was the same lady I always deal with that is short and rude with her responses . ( the same Hispanic lady that happens to be the manager ) I brushed it off and I continued to place my order mid way into placing my order she gave me the total ... I then said " it's ok we won't be completing my order today thank u and I hope u have a better day " I proceeded to drive off . Two days later , I tried it again (against my better judgment ) to see if it was just a bad day for them the other day .Today I go in @ 11 I tried to place an order for their chicken salad sandwich meal , the employee informed me that they didn't have any prepared . I changed my order for two kids meals . I sat @ the pick up window for over 15 min for just two kids meals . The mashed potatoes where cold and didn't taste like they were even heated , we didn't get the complete meal ( missing cookies and toys ) . I don't like to complain being in food service as well so I get it ,we have bad days here n there and mistakes happen . THIS IS CONSTANT WITH THIS STORE EVERY TIME I TRY IT in the hopes they have improved and removed the rude manager that I try it again . I have tried to call previously and have left a few messages with the owner to share my experiences with him but never received a return call . ( this is over a two years span ) Today It just so happens that I am able to connect with him when I do call . I express my experience with him today going they the drive thru . He resolved that issue and is going. To Mail us two coupons for a replacement meal . That was nice and it's good to know he was willing to fix that issues, and Getting a free meals was not my intentions for calling . I have Sam the owner on the phone as I share my experience today with him and try to express my reservations as to why I don't frequent there as often as I would like to . He responded with " ma'am I am going to fix this issues thank U as he tries to rush the conversation . I never got the change to say " I would frequent there more often if your employees weren't so rude ." It's unfortunate that the not only is the management rude so is the owner. This isn't the first sec or third time I have gone in and their employees are rude and let's it be done they would rather be somewhere else then working there . I live in north Enid so the closer I can get to my house to get a quick meal for myself or kids the better for me . I would rather drive to the other side of town to chick-FIL-a where I know I am going to receive quality food in sufficient time WITH the great customer service . By now with as many negative reviews you have about the horrible customer service they have you would think they would do an overhaul on their management team .... I recently went through the drive thru on my way through town. Got the 4 piece strips with gravy and a roll. It was outstanding. got 5 pieces of juicy chicken with a crispy crunch, the gravy was almost perfect and the roll was soft and buttery. I arrived at Golden Chick around 5:50pm and got in line for the drive through. when we pulled up the person asked us to wait a moment so we did, but she didn't get back to us until 5 minutes later. Near the end of saying our order, she repeated something back to me but I couldn't hear what she said, so I said, "Sorry, excuse me?" She then snapped the order back at me in a very angry and loud manner, which she had wrong and I corrected. I thought that was weird but I continued to pull around the side of the building to find that there wasn't even any cars in front of us at this point, even though we had waited so long at the menu for someone to speak with us. I pulled up to the drive thru window to see the lady that had talked to us was leaning with her back to the drive thru window talking on her cell phone, and she didn't even glance at us. Five minutes later (yes, I did time it at this point) she tells us that they were out of the side we wanted, so we asked what the list of sides were so I could choose a different one. She listed all the sides and got to Jalapeno poppers. We said we would take those. After a few more minutes she comes back and says the price and it is higher then what we were told at first. We asked why and she said it was because the poppers cost more. I wouldn't have chosen the jalapeno poppers if she hadn't told me it was a regular side. I told her that I did not want them and I wish she had told me it was more before. She then stated, with no eye contact, it was not her fault because she did not take the order and she does not set the prices. When I said I would not pay the extra she said well I guess you don't want the food then and slams the widow in our face, without saying sorry for the mixup or even trying to offer us another side that didn't cost more. When we left the window without our food, it was 6:20pm. We waiting in that line for close to 30 minutes to be treated poorly for no reason. I have never been treated so rudely or experienced such horrible customer service in my life. I will surely not recommend the store to anyone if I am asked. read more
