This place was called to tow my Audi after I recently moved into my new neighborhood- Chino and didn't know the parking policies. Usually tow yards are never a good experience. Almost every tow yard I've dealt with horrible, rude customer service from all the employees. However, this place is God sent thanks to Miguel! After a long day at rock climbing, my car had broken due to a faulty alternator. The tow truck driver, Moses, was not only friendly and professional, he was a great person to talk to; calming me down from the situation I was in. Further, he also went out of his way to maneuver the tow truck up my windy, dirt road and into my backyard, where I can comfortably work on the vehicle and replace the alternator. Moses is an honest man who cares about you, despite him just meeting me 15 minutes ago. My family and I were just harassed and threatened by an extremely hostile road raging driver from this company. This driver was driving vehicle number 80 on Sunday night, December 21 at Victoria Gardens. This driver proceeded to cut me and my son off in separate cars and proceeded to follow us into the parking lot trying to start a fight. I cannot believe a person in uniform on duty for this company would act in such a manner. He is on his own dash cam and I have video of this confrontation as well. This guy should be arrested, not employed. If anyone in management from this company or regional AAA sees this review, please feel free to contact me and I will send you the video and pictures. If I could zero give stars I would! I contacted AAA because I needed my car towed, and they dispatched Golden Bear Towing out of Chino/Montclair area. Unfortunately, the experience with the driver, Chanda Bwalya, was absolutely unacceptable. I live in a large gated apartment complex with 250 units. You cannot access the property without a gate code, and it can be difficult to locate specific garages without directions. After the driver called to let me know he was on the way, I sent him a courtesy text message that included the gate code and clear step-by-step directions from the entrance of the complex to my garage. Instead of appreciating the assistance, he called me back and spoke to me extremely rudely, saying, "Lady, I ain't going to read this long paragraph. Just give me your garage number." When I calmly explained that I was only trying to help because of the size of the complex, he repeated himself in the same disrespectful tone. Before he arrived, I briefly stepped into the restroom. During that time, he sent me a threatening text saying that if I didn't answer and call him back immediately, he would cancel the call. The tone was aggressive, unprofessional, and completely inappropriate. When he arrived, he remained unfriendly and dismissive. There is a security camera directly above my garage that recorded the entire interaction. I have dealt with many tow truck drivers over the years, while some have been less pleasant than others, the vast majority have been polite, respectful, and professional. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had. I reported this incident to Golden Bear Towing's Manager, Miguel, and also filed a formal complaint with AAA, advising them not to use this company again. Golden Bear Towing needs to fire Chanda Bwalya! I strongly recommend avoiding Golden Bear Towing, and if you are another towing company, I would strongly advise against employing this driver. This was one of the worst Customer Service experiences I have ever had! I'm a business owner and I have worked in Customer Service for over 35 years. I definitely would not be in business and would not have kept any of my jobs dealing with the public, if I treated a customer like this. Hugo was quick to call and tell me he was 2 minutes away. He was quick to arrive. Very knowledgable. Being somewhat a mechanic in my earlier years. Easy to see he asked the right questions that made everything efficient. He ran the diagnostics on the alternator, which proved to be good. Inspected the battery, looked for my history with AAA and battery service. Concluded the battery was no good. Very pleasant and authentic person in conversation and representing himself and the company. I was working from home this day, however everything was very timely and considerate of my time. TLDR; TERRIBLE customer service, INCOMPETENT tower, and DISGUSTING ethical operation - look for ANY other towing company you're better off. If i could put 0 stars I would. I needed rescuing and they sent a first dispatch that took about an hour to arrive this guy was completely incompetent and was not only unable to help he also caused damage to my vehicle. The guy ends up leaving and asking them to dispatch someone else - the next guy comes about 30 mins later and knew exactly what to do to get me out. Because of the damage I attempted for TWO months to reach out to their manager and try to work something out. They would always falsely claim that he would call me back. Well, Miguel never bothered to call back until a formal complaint was launched all to then try to baselessly accuse and insinuate the damage was already there without knowing anything. Moses is a professional who is caring, and on top of it! I was stranded on the 210 with traffic whizzing by, it was a frightening situation - Moses arrived, and the first thing he said to me was "I'm here to help" and really did help calm my nerves from a very stressful situation. I hobble to the Walmart directly across from my house, also where I recently bought these tires, and they are closing. One of the service technician gave me air and told me to make my way to Pep Boys on Foothill... wouldn't you know it! They're closed to and only had 1 person there to do tires anyway. Worst towing experience ever. I couldnt be at the house for the pick up but I spoke to the driver and specifically said do not start car. We'll he told my wife he's not going to push the little 10 ft out of the driveway and proceded to start the car and load it onto the truck. I called AAA for a tow. They initially dispatched Golden Bear. The first ETA was 45 minutes, updates a few minutes later to 1 hour 36 minutes. I called AAA, and they updated the time to more than 1600 minutes. That's more than 24 hours. I canceled and asked for another service. They again dispatched Golden Bear with another lengthy ETA. had a wonderful experience with golden bear towing. I car was parked in the mountains, lost the key and had a spare in the car. Went down to the bottom of the mountain, got phone signal and called AAA to get the car opened. Moses called a few minutes later and said he'd pick me up at the bottom of the mountain in 20 minutes. Which was a lot quicker than I'd expected! He picked me up, and we were on our way up the mountain! He was very easy to talk to, like an old friend, very personable!! AAA, please stop working with this tow company!!! I requested a tow service with AAA on both Sunday and Monday. Sunday - I waited for 3 hours to get a tow. Even though they kept saying the eta was 1 hour. They could've be honest and let me know the actual eta instead of being super unprofessional. Monday - The auto place couldn't fix my car so I have to get it towed to another place. I waited for 4-5 hours! Again, they never told me the actual eta and just kept postponing. Anyways, when the truck has arrived, he told me his truck couldn't tow my car since I got a front flat not a back flat. I understand that not all trucks can do everything. But I made it clear that I got a flat tire and how come the golden bear towing can still send a car that can only tow those cars that have a back wheel flat? You can't just send a random truck that works 50% of the time, right? Or why can't they give me a call ahead so they can make better arrangements? read more
