Warning this place is packed on weekends! Why? Because it's so delicious. Our favorite local breakfast joint. Not sure if he's the owner or manager, but there's a gentleman there on weekends who always makes sure you feel welcome and taken care of. read more

Definitely way too political. Will not go back. Absolutely ridiculous to push a political agenda at a breakfast restaurant. Horrible atmosphere, food ok. Way too over the top with right wing ideologies. Political signs and stickers are such a distraction from food experience. Restaurant Needs a good cleaning. read more

This is the only place I will go out to for breakfast. Their prices are amazing and their home fries with onions are the best I've ever eaten. read more

Was looking for a new breakfast place and stumbled upon Golden bear . It was a very cute restaurant and the servers were amazing ! I did however receive my Corn beef hash Benedict with burnt English muffins . Everything was piled on top so there was no way for waitress to know . I tried eating one half because I don't like to complain and I was just plain so hungry but it was un appetizing... it would of taken 45 second to make new English muffin but cook thought this was good enough .... guess I'll have to keep looking for a breakfast place read more

Absolutely delicious breakfast! Very friendly and kind staff! We ordered takeout omelettes and they were very, very good!

I am giving them 5 stars, because for what they do, they do it extraordinarily well. My friends have been telling me about this place for years, but I never stopped in. Last week I wanted to try something different from my normal spots, and went to Golden Bear. By first glance, all you see is a diner in a strip mall. Upon entering, the place was very clean, I was greeted and seated quickly. The staff was friendly and had honest recommendations. My drink stayed full, the food came out hot and the quality was beyond any diner I have ever been to. The food was very tasty, and the low prices were a pleasant surprise. I returned the next week for another terrific lunch, and I am meeting a friend there today. I highly recommend this local gem. Their homemade split pea soup was the closest to my grandmother's I have had, and I may have finally found a winner in my pursuit to find the best Patty Melt in the Bay Area. read more

Friendly quick service. Pice is average for a dinner coffee is par. Portions are big. Be warned even though it says dinner most their food is breakfast fare. It's tasty but I like savory lunch food more, that's just my personal opinion read more

This is one of the hidden treasures of Pinellas county. The gentleman at the front door welcomes you with a warm smile and makes you feel like you just walked into your grandma's kitchen. The food is inexpensive but soooo good. I love the teddy bears everywhere. This place is a must for breakfast. read more

By far the best breakfast place I've been to in a long time. The food is consistently amazing and homestyle. Cute little mom and pop place that feels right at home and is always busy. Love love love it! read more

Hadn't been to the Bear in years & was pleasantly surprised!! I met my grandson there for lunch & had some delicious eggs Benedict with a phenomenal sauce. Best I've had in years! Couldn't beat the price, masked & pleasant wait staff... I'll definitely go back next time I'm in Largo. read more

I was so excited to eat here because of the high rating! I was severely underwhelmed. The entry way to this restaurant could not be any less efficient. The placement of register and set up creates a huge cluster right when you walk in. There is no room to wait for a table or even put your name in. Horrible design leaves you uncomfortable and agitated from from the get go. Took a while to be greeted. No one working there that I encountered was overwhelming pleasant. Our server and food was quick and the French toast, eggs, bacon and home fries were decent! The breakfast burrito on the other hand was not good. They give you two burritos. One of mine was almost completely empty. I'd rather just have one average sized burrito than trying to make it look like more but actually getting less. The fruit cup costs higher than a gallon of gas, and gas prices are record highs. Probably won't be back and also don't believe this to be an over 4 star establishment. read more

Really cute mom and pop breakfast place that does a very good business! My friend and I made plans to meet for breakfast and wanted to look for something that was halfway as a meeting point. I pulled up my trusty Yelp app and located the golden bear! We got there around 10 on a Friday morning and it was packed. We had to wait a few minutes for a table. Once we sat and looked at the menu it was hard to decide what to get. Lots of choices. Thy have a variety of specials for under $5. However I Was pretty hungry so I decided to go for the breakfast quesadilla with hash browns. I also got a cup of coffee. I rarely order coffee at restaurants because I'm super picky and they rarely make it to my liking, but this was actually a good cup of coffee. The meal nor the service didn't disappoint. The quesadilla had good flavor and the portion was large. The server and busser were both very attentive and checked on us multiple times to refill drinks etc. Overall great value, food and service. I'd come back again read more

Great little local mom and pop spot close to home. Menu offers up great breakfast and lunch items. Enjoyed the decor of a bear mural in the back wall and the line of teddy bears above the entryway. They also show support to our veterans as well! It is a small shop but it's definitely worth checking out! We arrived and there was a line of people waiting! That is always a good sign for me. I loved the cute little table set up with the silverware and coffee mug. My coffee mug was nice and warm too and ready for a hot cuppa coffee. The menu has a good variety and I did notice the early riser specials have an up charge of .75 if you order after 11am. I couldn't decide on what to get, I saw they had pancake French toast, but also saw the Gyro Omelet! I ordered that which it's stuffed with gyro meat, diced tomatoes and feta cheese. Oh so yummy! I'm always torn when I order breakfast foods and I always order pancakes/waffles/French toast or omelet. Just depends on my mood. I had hash browns as wells. Mike stuck with his norm Western Omelet and it looked tasty too. He also ordered a half order of biscuit and gravy because Mike likes them. I'm not a fan, just because too many starches and fats. When she placed the biscuit and gravy down there was a long hair across the top. I pointed it out and our server took it back and brought him a fresh plate. Enjoyed the atmosphere and will be back to try more! They come around and fill up your coffee too! You pay at the front with the cashier too. read more

Fantastic place! The friendliest staff and they are very quick efficient. Delicious food, perfectly cooked, big portions, quick, and cheap. What more could you ask for?! Excellent diner. read more

Went there for the first time with my two best friends for breakfast. (they also serve lunch.) Wait staff was johnny-on-the-spot and very attentive. The food was phenomenal and very inexpensive. The owner went from table to table asking each person how their food was. he also helped buss tables! Even brought us a paper menu to take home when he found out it was our first time. The food was perfect, overflowed the plates and tasted delicious. My three egg vegetarian omelet with cheese, crispy hash browns, rye toast with butter and jelly and my bottomless tea glass all came to $10.17. From the street it is an unassuming looking place. Inside is well maintained, sparkling and clean. You've seen my restaurant reviews before. So you know I don't sugar coat it. This place is a 15 on a scale of 10. read more

Nice home away for home, comfort breakfast. Staff is friendly and attentive. Nice portio size.

Really enjoy the food and family atmosphere. You will not go away hungry and the price is well within reasonable. Staff is friendly and after a couple of visits "everyone knows your name"! We come here often (a little less since the pandemic) and the food is always great! This place has the best soups!!! It's a "must have" for me! Service is fantastic! Owner is always working hard to make sure everyone is taken care of! Kudos to you all and we hope to see you again soon! read more

They have a small menu that is cheap if you get there before 11:00. Perfect for smaller appetites. Good solid choice for breakfast. Always busy on the weekends but they move the crowds in and out quickly. The kitchen is on point so the food is always good. Service is good but be warned that once they serve you they go MIA on you. They drop the check with the food and move on to other tables so if you want a box or a drink to go ask for it then. Eggs are cooked properly and the hash browns are seasoned and have an almost creamy consistency in the center. Really good. Don't ask me why but the smell of this place always makes me want chocolate milk. read more

I've only had breakfast, but it has been consistently delicious! A lady I work with brings breakfast from here to us usually once a week and the portions for the price can't be beat anywhere. If you're looking for the best breakfast in Pinellas county, it's right here! read more

Friendly staff and prices that can't be beat. Four days back from St.Pete and I'm jonesing for two eggs over hard with bacon, grits (or homefries) and toast. Both the homefries and grits were cooked perfectly. Eggs were hard not runny. Breakfast at its best. Staff was super friendly. This is your basic diner. Clean, basic and delicious. Breakfast for two with one coffee and tip ran $10 before 11 a.m. After 11 a.m. they add a .75 surcharge. Whatever. I want a Golden Bear across the street from my house. read more

It was Mother's Day and I needed a place to take the wife for some pancakes, because that is what she wanted. And Blondie gets what she wants on Mother's Day! The place was packed and ten or so people were waiting outside. I gave my name to the receptionist and told it would be 10 or 15 minutes to get a table. We got our table in about 20 minutes and that's not too bad and were ushered to a comfortable booth. As we looked around in the classic diner motif we noticed there was a bar area with only a couple of people sitting there and wished we'd seen that so we could come right in and sit down but we'll do that another day. A very pleasant waitress with friendly personality came to us almost immediately and asked what we wanted to drink and brought our menus. When she brought our drinks in only a couple of minutes we had time to decide what to order and the nice waitress promptly smiled and left to turn in our order. Blondie ordered a short stack with a side of bacon extra crispy and I ordered the bacon and mushroom omelet with hollandaise sauce, home fries with onions, and wheat toast. Our meals came in about 8 or 10 minutes, which I thought was pretty good considering it was so busy that day. Blondie's pancakes were thick, light, and tasty and her bacon was perfect. My omelet was perfectly done and the home fries were good, although they could have been crisper but they certainly were not under-done. All in all we had a very nice meal at a very good price. I will definitely return to the Golden Bear in the future. For a nice final touch they were giving a rose to all mothers as they left the restaurant. read more

I tried this diner on a recommendation of a friend and it exceeded my expectations. There are 2 breakfasts I always try. One is Eggs Benedict and the other is biscuits and gravy, both were delicious. The hash browns were cooked well, just like I ordered. The coffee was fresh and tasted like I had made it myself. I also ordered a cheeseburger/fries for my 10 year old and Mac/cheese for my 7 year old. No complaints from them, and they raved about the fries. read more

Hands down the best brunch restsurant in the Seminole area. The breakfast specials are priced very low and all the food is wonderful. Hubby likes the chopped steak and eggs, eggs benedict, chicken noodle soup! I am hooked on the turkey ruben....secret menu item. Also try the great salads....chef is huge and taco is as good as you will ever have. The staff and owners are so nice....feels like you are in a coffee shop from the 1980's. Another non chain option...you will love! read more

Great portions for the price. The food is good and the service was fantastic! Definitely going back!

One of our favorite places to come for a good breakfast at fair prices! We have been coming here for years and though some things have changed, one thing that has not is the friendliness of the staff. My go to menu item is the cheese blintzes (I always ask if they have fresh strawberries) and hash browns. Husband loves their BLT and fries. Definitely recommend coming here for breakfast! read more

My husband and I ate here this morning. Because the place we usually go to was opening later. We didn't want to wait so I remembered our daughter telling us she tried this restaurant a few weeks before and said it was very good. What a pleasant surprise. We walked in and were seated right away. The place was so clean . The waitress very pleasant and took our order. We didn't have to wait long at all. Then a man walked over to ask how our food was. We talked with him and told him we were impressed with everything. And told him we would be back for sure. Come to find out he was the owner. His name is Joe. He gave us the history of the place. Food nice and hot. Plenty to choose from. Can't wait to try the soups. Thanks to making our first visit so pleasant read more
