Quick summary: Amazing burgers - and this claim from someone who is not a huge burger fan…read more I ate here for the first time last week - while on vacation. My wife is a big burger fan (FYI: she raved about her burger, too), so I decided to try the place out, since we were in the area. Bit hard to locate, but parking was fine. Since the weather was good, we ate outside. There is both open air & tent-covered seating options. Speaking of seating - you must memorize your table # BEFORE going inside to order as meals are delivered to your table. I ordered the "Big Daddy M": 6oz beef, medium-cooked, with Bayley Hazen blue cheese, caramelized onions, bacon bits, garlic aioli, bibb lettuce and red onions. What a heavenly, savory combination. Each bite was full of flavor. And the French Fries? Well, super tasty as well - I ate every potato fried crumb. At other places, fries are usually bland, but not here. The order service inside was pleasant and quick; be sure to note the chalk board with a list of food options (e.g. my Wife ordered a custom burger, just the way she wanted). After ordering we went back outside to our #'d table - wait for the food was relatively quick. When done eating, just leave your baskets, etc. on the table (there is a sign stating this practice). Note: while I did not have kids here, there were plenty of families with young kids & toddlers. I definitely want to try this place a 2nd time.

Big juicy char grilled burger. Excellent "medium rare". Good pickles, cheese, bun, and lettuce…read more Very good root beer. The atmosphere is good for such a small place. For what they have to work with... this place deserves your business. Stay away from the truffle fries... just go regular... they're okay... nothing to write home about. The truffle fries were below average.

Doc Ponds was a highlight of our trip to Stowe! We are a family of 4, with a 16 year old and 10…read moreyear old. We all agreed that Doc Ponds was the best meal we had in a while. The food was fantastic! I recommend the dry rub wings, corn chowder soup, and mac and cheese! The ambiance was cozy and the music was a cherry on top! Worth the wait.

A lot of potential, but not today…read more We were sold on coming when we saw a Brie brisket sandwich from another reviewer. Unfortunately, this was no longer on the menu but we thought we'd give something else a try...starting with French fries (these were good). Then we shared the carnitas sandwich and delicata squash. Both of these items have a lot of potential, but the chef missed the mark. The carnitas sandwich was 95% fat and we couldn't eat it. When we let the waitress know (not expecting anything other than providing feedback), she seemed annoyed but proceeded to provide a discount to accommodate us. Shifting to the squash...it's spicy. We are certain cayenne was used, even though the menu list pomegranate molasses...the skins weren't removed and overall just wasn't something we'd recommend. We left most of the bowl behind. Anyways. The menu does appear like it has potential just needed more TLC when making the food. We appreciate the wait staff trying to make up for the negative experience with the food, but also would appreciate the attentiveness from the waitress. They did seem short staffed, so she may have been stressed out but when a customer provided feedback...maybe take it more graciously? Overall, this feels like typical resort food. So if your into that type of food, enjoy!
