The service was great. The driver was timely and friendly. The hidden costs are not acceptable. Caution when booking to note that the base prices shown seem very competitive but do not include several additional fees which are calculated after booking is completed. In my case, the price went up nearly 40% from the rate shown on the table. Certainly my fault for not reading the fine print but the table of base costs is incredibly misleading Gratuity is automatically added to the cost at 20%. I have a real problem with a mandatory "gratuity". It's one thing if you provide that option, but by making it mandatory, an acceptable level of service is no longer a requirement and therefore it's just a payroll cost you have passed directly to the customer. Bottom line. It is unlikely that I will be using this company again. Solely based on the unknown total costs and mandatory pre-applied gratuity. read more

I am very thankful for Going Green Limousine! They were patient, kind, reliable, and very communicative. They picked me up with only a couple days notice to go to the airport very early in the morning, and were very accommodating when my return flight had to be rescheduled with little notice. Once again, I have to give Going Green 5 stars. Last Thursday our flight out of Chicago/O'Hare was canceled. I had to get us rebooked and the flight was not until the following morning. I called and spoke to Pat who rescheduled with no problem. Then, I was able to schedule a flight out of Midway, so I called and spoke to Pat again to cancel the drop off trip completely. Again, no issues and confirmation e-mails of all this are sent within 15 minutes. Then, while away, I had to call again, and spoke to Pat, again, so that I could change our plans, again, and have the driver take us from O'Hare to Midway to pick up our car. Again, no issue. AND, when you call, you do not have to listen to a long recording, just push a button and get a person. Pick up was fine and got to Midway in a very timely manner. read more

Being the nice wife that I am I decided to come back to Chiberia (from lovely 80 degree Florida weather) on a Friday so that my husband wasn't alone for the weekend. And then I realized that I booked my flight when he would be at work and didn't have anyone to pick myself, my nanny and 2 toddlers up from the airport. So much for being nice! I take a car service several times a month for my frequent work travel and always use (and love) Home James Chicago.* However, when traveling with kids we've always parked at the airport...and often spend more than the flight on parking alone. Yikes. Home James has mentioned to me in the past that they have car seats, but I know they are more of a corporate car service. And I wanted a car service that transports children often & actually knows how to install a car seat. I booked the service online (easy peasy) and received an email confirmation. From o'hare to Glencoe the car service was approximately $110. Pricey, but way less than parking for 6 days at O'hare. I called 2 days before to confirm that we were all set and they'd have 2 car seats (one rear facing and the other forward facing). They said it wasn't a problem and that I'd have a text message/vm from my driver waiting from me when we landed. We landed this morning and no text/vm waiting for me. No biggie..I just called the office to ask where I should meet the driver. I was put on hold...and waited...and waited..and waited for a total of 10 minutes. 10 minutes isn't very long, but when you have 2 hungry and tired toddlers tugging on you and want to make sure you're going to be able to get them home safely it's a very looong time! They finally picked up the phone and when I expressed my annoyance at the hold time they said they've been getting a lot of calls. Maybe they need more people to pick up the calls on busy spring break weeks? Besides that everything went smoothly. We found our driver easily and he (as planned) had the 2 car seats installed. They were cosco car seats and the kids were happy (so I guess comfortable) to sit in them? There was also way more room for all of us and our luggage than when we squeeze it into our car. The driver himself was very nice and didn't seem to mind that my 3 year-old insisted on blasting "let it go" on pandora from my phone. For short weekend trips in the future we'll likely to continue to use our car, but will definitely use Go Green again for longer trips! I hit up Yelp to look for alternatives to the taxi line out at O'Hare. I read a few reviews before settling on Going Green figuring that a five star rating is something difficult to achieve especially with a service that has many outside variables (traffic/marathons) beyond their control. Rebecca answers phones and replies to email with charm and efficiency. I had run into a couple colleagues that wanted to ride with me into the city. A quick email exchange with Rebecca gave me the info of no extra charge for the two other passengers. Really? Once I had gathered my two stowaways at the airport, I called Rebecca, who described the car and gave me directions where to find it. She said he would arrive within a six minute window. He did. Clean car, friendly, but not intrusive driver, was a huge benefit. Fort those that travel with their children... they have DVD player running on the back seats. Even though the Chicago Marathon was going, our driver found his way expertly through the mess and got us to our hotel far faster than I had estimated. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! I used this car service to take my 20 month old daughter and I from downtown Chicago to Midway. I had called and told them I needed a forward facing toddler carseat, and that was not a problem for them. They showed up a few minutes early and told me to come outside when i was ready. The car was a Hybrid Saturn, that was very nice and spacious inside. The carseat was nice and clean and looked brand new. The driver was super nice and told me about the city as we passed different parts. Rebecca, who answers the phone, could not have been any nicer. child seat availability: 5-star customer service: 2-star I wanted to rate this company 5-star, believe me. We travel with toddlers, so we require child seats. We have been to several states including Mexico. Normally, the drivers are social, they give you a little background of the city we are visiting while driving or identify landmarks, points of interests, asks how our travel was etc. Both GG Limo drivers (to and from the airport) didnt even spoke nor asked how our trip/flight/visit was. Best customer service I've ever received. I proposed to my girlfriend last weekend, and part of the proposal plan included a need for a driver and a nice charter car. I called to get a quote, the people on the phone were professional and easy to work with. I later found out that it was actually the owner who answers the phone, which I really appreciate. I told them my plan for the day, and that it was a secret. They promised to not call my fiancé until it was time. They asked for my itinerary, I sent it and they updated it in their system. They even sent the itinerary back to confirm it. Later on, I called about the possibility of picking the exact car I wanted. They were extremely flexible and helped me pick out a car. The morning of the proposal, I received a call from both owners and the driver to review my itinerary. After we were done reviewing the itinerary, they even upgraded the car for me, knowing it was such an important event. The driver showed up to pick up my fiancée on time, dressed perfectly and the car was extremely clean and nice. The driver's name was Rick, he was very on top of my itinerary the whole time and took away SO MUCH worry from me! Not only was he knowledgable of the itinerary, and on time according to it, he was also extremely nice and a lot of fun. He completely played into the plan and made the whole experience very special. He also had all the expected qualities of a great driver.. Safe, courteous, opened the door every time, easily reachable for a pick up, but Rick went way above these normal expectations. The itinerary was executed very seamlessly. Rick was easily the best driver I've had for any transportation service. He was really more than a driver, he was critical to the whole plan and became a friend by the end of the experience. If I could think of a bad thing to say about this company, I would. I could not be more pleased! I used Going Green Limo for a recent trip from Hotel Burnham downtown to ORD. Originally I had asked the hotel staff for their recommendations for airport transport and had gotten some kind of vague answer of "the doorman will just get you a cab". When I asked the hotel staff about pricing of said cab to ORD I was met with an equally vague "Oh 45-55 dollars" That's all well and good. But, I'm not going to wake up for a flight on some vague assurances that the doorman will get me a cab on time *if* an available one happens to be wandering down the street available at 6am. I just don't take those kinds of risks with travel when I need to be somewhere on time! Cue looking up yelp reviews for "car service Chicago" and ultimately calling Going Green Limo based on their excellent reviews. When I called I was quoted $65 from hotel Burnham to ORD. A mere 10 dollars difference for the assurance of having an on-time departure? Count me in! The driver was pleasant, timely and unexpectedly knowledgeable about architecture. The ride to the airport was passed discussing historic preservation. What a treat for a transport experience! I arrived safely, entertained and on time for my early morning departure. We used Going Green car service for a family vacation to Las Vegas. There were three of us that needed to be picked up in the far south suburbs (Will County) for an early flight out of Midway. We decided to have some fun and go with a white stretch limo to accommodate all of our luggage and have some leg room. The driver was right on time at 615am and loaded our luggage into the car. He then asked us if we had preferred driving directions rather than the GPS suggestion of I-55. We told him yes and we were able to avoid the congestion. Prior to our arrival back in Chicago we received and email from GGL and they told us they tracked our flight so they were able to adjust the pick up time. The airline had us departing 10min earlier than originally scheduled and it saved us the panic of contacting them for an adjustment. Coming back home late on a Sunday night I was instructed to call once we finished baggage claim and the driver was there within 5 minutes. He again loaded our luggage for us and had bottled water waiting in the car. Only two of us needed a ride home so we were able to downsize the car (and avoid the glaring flashes of the paparazzi as we jumped into the SUV). Ok so we just liked to pretend we were celebs spotted at the airport getting into a car. He again asked for our preferred route home and it was a really smooth ride. I highly recommend them and would totally use them again for any car service reason. Really positive first time experience and I needed to be picked up way out in the south suburbs. I booked online and hoped for the best, and it really was the best. The driver was completely on time, very professional and extremely pleasant and friendly. Also, the car was clean and had complimentary water. My only two, teeny tiny thoughts: First, I didn't know that he had arrived. I just happened to look out the window, and there was the car, backed into the driveway with the trunk open. That is exceptional service for sure, but being a first time user, I thought maybe the driver would call when he arrived. Second, I'm not positive that it was a hybrid car. Since it was only me, I had the sedan, so I don't know. I would like to think that it was. Overall, this is a five star experience and they even let you tip (some limo services add on the gratuity). Why my trip was 5 stars: 1.) I made a point-to-point reservation (Chicago to Western Burbs) online and got an email confirmation with the price. I paid that exact price when the ride was over, so no hidden surcharges or fees (gratuity was extra). Note: For point-to-point service, online reservations have to be made 18 hours in advance. 2.) My pick-up time was 10:30 am, but I got done early so called the dispatcher and told her I was ready now. My car was there 30 minutes early. Awesome. 3.) The driver (Rick) showed up in a nice Suburban LTZ. It was clean and roomy enough for me (I'm 6'8"). Rick was very polite -- opening the doors, offering water, making small talk, etc. Based on this experience, I would recommend to a friend and use the service again. read more

Traveling with a 3 month old and we needed a car with a baby seat for transportation to our hotel from O'Hare. We booked the day before and they did their best to accommodate even though from their schedule it was clear they were very busy. I appreciated a call from the owner the night before just to confirm everything for our flight details. Our driver, Jeff, was early and helpful. I will say the Ford Escape option, while it is green (hybrid), can be a bit on the small side for bags- depending on your load, you may want to go with the Suburban option if you have more than a family of 3. On the return trip to the airport we had a Suburban and the upgrade was unexpected and we ended up having our parents ride with us since they were going to the airport too- they didn't charge us even when I called them back to settle up. Thanks Jesse! Great service and the option to have a car seat available was really what drove us to use these guys but in the end we were very impressed with their service. The pricing was right -- less than any other limo company who quoted us, and only marginally higher than American Taxi. Quoting and booking was simple - the service was fantastic and they offer easy email, web, and phone booking options. Awesome. I bought the Yelp deal and used it upon arrival in Chicago for a business trip. Everything was flawless. The instructions I received worked precisely as intended (call upon picking up luggage and we'll be there in 2 - 3 minutes). The car was spotless, the driver friendly and the ride enjoyable. One of my friends referred me to Going Green, as I was in need of a limousine to go to Tinley Park for a concert and I know she had a car service she liked. Jesse from Going Green could not have been any better to work with! We had actually booked one of their smaller cars, but there was a problem with it the day we were headed out so we got upgraded for no charge. The vehicle was spotless, they showed up right on time, and could not have been nicer. Jesse had great tips for where to meet post-concert (that parking lot at whatever the music ampitheatre is called these days is a beast), which was also a huge help. Awesome indeed! It seems like the option of riding around town in a hybrid should, by now, be completely integrated into our DNA. I know, I know, the cars are hard to come by, they're not as big as what most limo riders are accustomed to, those enviro wackos have no idea what they are talking about. Yeah, exactly. This should not be the only option, but while it is one of the only ways to ride green when visiting town, definitely go with it. We went from O'Hare to Lake Forest, free water, very nice driver, clean clean car, got us where we needed to go in style. In the near future, it seems like some version of this limo company will prosper throughout the country. I used Going Green as part of my elaborate surprise proposal & birthday gift for my (now) fiancée. I needed them to drive us from the spot where I proposed, stop at our condo to pick up bags, and drop us off at the airport for a trip to Vegas immediately after the proposal. They were so helpful, reliable, and friendly that I felt as if I was getting a ride from a family member or good friend. I was very nervous about the scheduling for the proposal (which included several time-sensitive events) and then getting to the airport in time to make our flight, so they waited outside for us, covertly texting me to let me when the limo arrived. I asked for a couple special surprises in the limo (champagne and skittles to celebrate) and they put packs of skittles throughout the limo and had a bottle of champagne on ice, exactly as ordered. Here's the best part: after our vacation I decided to get one of their Eco friendly SUVs for a ride back home from the airport, so I called last minute before the flight and arranged it. When they picked us up, the SUV had even more skittles in it as a surprise (even to me)! How awesomely thoughtful is that?? We had a fantastic experience with this company. We actually called the night before flying into O'Hare and booked them with two car seats in the car ready to go. It was snowy and incredibly cold (the usual for Chicago) but we didn't want to have to take the El or deal with putting car seats into a taxi in that freezing cold weather. This was so convenient because they already had car seats installed so we just loaded the kids into the seats, threw the bags in the bag and went. The price was very good, under $100 which included the car seats and tip. The driver was very friendly and helpful. When traveling with two kids under three it was greatly appreciated. Like many of the people who wrote excellent reviews on Yelp, I chose Going Green Limousines because of their rating. We used them for our return transfers from ORD to Downtown Chicago. A man with a sign with my name was waiting for us at baggage claim. He paid for the luggage cart even though I offered to pay for it. He was polite and professional. He helped us with our luggage (and there was a lot), and we didn't have to lift a finger. He didn't accept my tip, which was refreshing, although he knew we would have to tip the driver later anyway. He called the driver to meet us, and they loaded our stuff in their SUV. The vehicle was clean. Driver was also polite, professional and gave us a brief run down of the city. Water was complimentary. For peace of mind, I suggest using Going Green Limousines to get you anywhere in Chicago. You get what you paid for, so although they may be a little more expensive than their competitors - at least you know you can rely on Going Green to get you there.
