Finding this store was a bit complicated, for my first time visiting. The fabrics weren't what I wanted for my own projects, and I thought prices were a bit high. I'm from Ohio- checked their website first and loved their online section. About $300 later...I've got some project fabric!! if i lived locally I would love to take their classes. They have them online too- so I'll have to check thoughts out when I get home. They do have seats for husbands to rest upon while you shop. They have Bernina machines and tons of kits. This shop deserves no stars! On June 20, 2022 I bought my MC11000 sewing machine to Going Batty. I was making an odd sound when it started up and gave a message to raise the presser foot and needle. Neither were in the down position. So, I brought my machine to be cleaned and possible repaired if the tech could find the error. On July 7th I got a call from the tech that my machine is ready to be picked up. I picked up machine and if the error message happens again I should take my machine to Janome certified technician. Well, when I got home I FOUND MY POWER PLUG ON MY MACHINE LOOSE AND HANGING INSTEAD OF TIGHT AND STURDY. WHEN I BROUGHT MY MACHINE IN MY PLUG WAS NOT LIKE THAT AT ALL! I immediately called the shop, but they had already closed for the day so I left a message. No I did not get a call back from anyone from that business. By noon I called them and spoke to representative about the issue. She told they would fix the issue immediately, but she would need to talk to the owner. I also told her I no sooner got home and found the plug that way that the error message showed up so I going to have to go to Janome tech, and I will have them power plug addressed as well and it would be good if your company paid for the repair for the plug only. Batty employee said they would have to talk to owner. Once again no call back. I called the shop in July 11th 2022 and actually spoke to owner/ technician. He immediately denied that he caused that damage and the machine came in that way. I asked him this "Why if this plug was like that when the machine came did you not tell me about such problem and then follow would you like us to repair this plus share the cost for the repair? He went completely silent. He had no problem admitting that the machine is not fixed and that it is a software issue. But a mechanical repair he says nothing about. I called him out on this issue and all he could do was lie. He knows he broke the power plug and instead of being honest about it he lied then tried to cover it up. Please save yourself the aggravation and do not take your sewing machines to that horrible excuse of tech. read more

The owner/Bernina tech failed to properly "service" my 440QE. As soon as I got it home and fired it up, the first few stitches produced a godawful metallic popping sound that scared me so much I jumped back from my machine. I immediately called the shop asking to speak to the tech, who was there but would not come to the phone. I left 2 messages for him to call me back, he never did. After 2 weeks of no satisfaction or contact from Neff the tech, I took my machine to another Bernina tech to now "repair" it (causing me to drive over 150 miles round trip) He immediately identified the problem and thankfully it had caused no permanent damage. He also did a "sew/stitch off" for me. If Neff had done the simple industry standard of a "sew/stitch off" on a scrap of fabric to prove the machine was serviced and stitching properly he would have instantly recognized the problem and corrected it. He did not do that simple thing which resulted in needless anger and frustration on my part. His lack of concern and arrogance only made the situation worse. Note to Bernina owners: ALWAYS CHECK FOR THE SEW/STITCH OFF before you leave this shop with your "serviced" machine. read more

The owner wasn't interested in my complaint that I was told each day the online class was starting tomorrow. I ended up dropping my $200 kit off to an understanding employee. The owner refused to talk to me. There are plenty of other shops in the area to give my business too. I own 5 Bernina's so I could have been a valuable customer. Now I go to the other shops. From the perspective of someone who shelled out a lot of money for a machine, the management has been less that genuine in providing factual information and followup support services. I have abandoned any hope of receiving things that I ordered some time ago, or receiving the support I was promised. Many promises, little communication and followthrough. The customer service at this store is AMAZING. I have been to the other sewing shops in town, so I feel I can give a fair review on this place. I was helped right away after entering the store by a very nice lady. I had a few questions about the Bernina sewing machines they carry so I was introduced to the owner, Carie, to answer my questions and give me a demo on the machines. I have been a Bernina owner and strong supporter for years, frequently upgrading to a new model. I purchased one for my daughter at this shop a few years ago. I was told she would get 8 hours of instruction on the machine. She was back home within three hours. The instructor was ill so she had her husband attempt to teach the class. My daughter had nothing but trouble with the machine. He was unable or unwilling to help her. So I beg to differ with the review given by Casey from 2013. We never received a phone call offering to redo the class, so their customer service was nonexistent. When I purchased my newest machine in Sacramento and had trouble with it, the owner gave me a new one because my machine was having problems in my orientation class that no one else was experiencing and the instructor told the owner what had happened,so it was replaced before I left the store. I purchased an Bernina 880 at windy Moons in sparks,NV. They did not give me the promised 500.00 bernina classes, I was told was included. They do not have ANY Bernina training at the store. When questions them, they told me, they do not have enough people interested in classes. I also contact Bernina headquarters and was told Sandy owner of windy Moons would contact me.Well, she never did. I went into Going Batty and they were appalled I was treated like that, especially the expensive machine I purchased. I am so disappointed in the store but love Bernina. I singed up for a class to learn basic embroidering. I am on a mess ion to let the public know about windy Moons, it is a shame to keep a store like that in business. going Batty was so nice and very helpful with me and sympathetic. On my last visit to this store, I saw a cute sample for a needle book. When I inquired of the owner if there was a pattern, she exclaimed that the pattern was developed by the store and it was exclusive to that store only. While the pattern was simple I was only trying to support the store in this tough economy. I have been quilting for over 50 years and certainly did not need a pattern to make the needle book. This outrageous behavior has lost me as a customer and I will be telling all of my quilting friends, as well as developing a pattern for the needle book. read more
