Communication was excellent the entire time, and Ebony truly cared about making sure everything worked out. At one point, I accidentally shipped my freight to the wrong address. With a very short deadline, I honestly did not know if the situation could be fixed in time. Ebony reassured me that everything was going to be alright and stayed on top of the situation until it was resolved. Businesses Beware: Our $600 Shipment Turned Into a $3,500 Bill!…read more We are a small business and I really want to warn other businesses about our experience with FreightCenter. We booked a freight shipment for around $600 and paid the quoted amount. On pickup day, a truck showed up, took our shipment, and everything seemed completely normal. No one told us that anything had changed or that a different carrier was picking up the shipment. Then after the shipment was completed, we were charged nearly $3,000 more, automatically to our credit card. When we questioned it, we were told the additional cost was because the carrier had changed. This was not because we gave them the wrong weight or dimensions. The carrier change happened on their end, and we were never told about it, never asked if we agreed to it, and most importantly, never told that it could result in thousands of dollars in additional charges. That's the part I find so concerning. When the truck arrived, they picked up our freight just as if they were the carrier we were expecting. We had absolutely no idea that allowing that truck to take our shipment could result in an additional charge of almost $3,000. We disputed the additional charge with our credit card company, but FreightCenter contested our dispute and we have not been successful in getting the charge reversed so far. We are continuing to dispute it, and at this point we don't know what the final outcome will be. I'm posting this while the dispute is still ongoing because I want other businesses to know what happened to us. If you use FreightCenter, I would strongly recommend verifying the carrier that actually shows up before they take your freight, even if everything appears completely normal. If anything has changed, get confirmation in writing that the change will not affect your price before your shipment leaves. I really wish we had known something like this could happen before we used them. We will not use FreightCenter again.
