The blackhawk burger was a smash burger (thin patties, melted cheese), that tasted delicious. The ribeye was just as expected and cooked as ordered. The star of each of the entrees, however, was the thin cut, crispy fries. Good thing the fries were delicious because the sauces that came with it were quite bland -- would've preferred ketchup. For dessert we tried the bay leaf cheesecake. It was alright, had a subtle smokey flavor that I think threw us off a bit (although that was obviously the point given the bay leaf). Strongly suggest the owners invest in the Chez Georges Bistro Hilton Head recipe. Graclyn merits attention as energic server. As a PLUS, there is an Ohio State Lamp to gree customers. Surely the owners can think of a more creative name; how about Doubleday's South.

We got a pizza and there was an odd funky smell on some of the pepperoni. Everything in this place is self serve, which is odd, and pretty much guarantees little to no tipping, so they just add it onto your bar bill automatically, so watch out for that. I've been in a lot of brewery restaurants and the brewery portion is always immaculate. Theirs looks like your grandpa's basement, with junk all over shelves, stuff just laying around, and just generally dirty and cluttered. That was a one and done for us, as there's nothing to warrant a second trip.
