Coach Paul is extremely knowledgeable and patient and Coach/Owner David Lee programs workouts that will align with your personal fitness goals (whether you want to get bigger, smaller, faster or stronger.) I've dropped in and competed at other CrossFit locations, but I can tell you that the community and energy that you will feel at CFMY is incomparable. Whether you're a Division I athlete, or just an average Joe that want's to be the healthiest you, all workouts have modifications so that you can avoid injury and get the most from your workout. I highly recommend CFMY to anyone that's looking to take their fitness to the next level. (Also, they frequently offer awesome deals on living social to try it out - so keep an eye out for their next promotion!)

I heard about CFMY from a friend so I decided to give their OnRamp class a try and it changed my life. Coach Paul and and Coach/Owner Dave are some of the most knowledgable people in the crossfit world. Dave's program makes you work hard and pushes you close to your limit so you're always working and sweating. Paul makes sure that our forms are correct. He values form over numbers any day of the week. They know that bad form leads to injuries so CFMY emphasizes form over anything else and that is when you know that you're at a good gym that cares about you. In addition, the CFMY community is one of the best there is. It's like a family that keeps pushing you to be the best that you can be. The comradery between the athletes and the coaches is seriously one of a kind and nothing comes close to it.

I'll admit, I begrudgingly went to the second class dreading the various cycles we had gone through the week before. I assumed that because the classes were free, they would be exactly the same. Wrong! Every single class has been different. Each has been painful in its own special way, but for me, not knowing what's next makes it easier to push through. This has kept me going back for more week after week. Although I already have a gym membership and pay for another boot camp in NJ, I am seriously considering looking into Platoon's programs.

The model let's everyone pace themselves, but there's a lot of encouragement and concentration on form. This has worked well for me. They handle the pandemic better than some other gyms with temperate checks, making sure the lockers are sanitized if used, and letting us sanitize the equipment and then them sanitizing after everyone leaves as well. Everyone is spaced out every three stations, so they only have 1/3 of what they could normally have. For working out and possibly doing stretches, I like this more. It makes me feel more comfortable. Ultimately, though, I want to use up all the rest of my sessions and then transition to personal training presently.

So i decided to join her one day as her plus one. First off, know that you have to drive all the way to the back of the plaza to find it. But there's plenty of parking. The studio is run by two nice trainers: Sally and Jordan. They are very open and all about helping you. They tell you their story and listen to yours. It's all about setting goals and appreciating the little accomplishments. First thing when you walk in is that it's one big room. Not little alcoves here and there. Just a huge mat for you to get sweaty on. I did notice there's not one mirror- which is quite interesting. There is complementary child care and very nice locker rooms. They are like to do one on one meetings to check in with you every other week. Their hours are a bit wonky so check the class schedule each week before coming in. But what I like most about this place is that if you can't do a conventional push up, they find another way to get your body to work the same muscles. My advice? Come try it out!

I even convinced one of my friends to do the $30 for 30 days promo they had running. I love that they offer a few evening classes so if I'm running late, I can still make it to class. Or, if I'm done work early I can catch an earlier class. I can't seem to just get myself to the gym unless there's a class so I think this will be the best option for me right now. I took my first class tonight and boy was I dying! BUT ILL BE BACK! It was challenging but I really enjoyed it. I like that they have focus meetings and will keep on me on track for my goals. The staff was really nice and the gym was clean. Cons - only one bathroom and no lockers room to change in. No showers either but I get why. It's a quick 45 min workout. In and out.
