Note: insurance is required - you either have to bring evidence of your own coverage or they will sign you up for the option they offer. The facility is clean and easy enough to navigate. My one complaint is that the elevators can be sketchy. I stopped by on a Sunday to take one load to my unit. It should have taken 15 minutes but it took 35 because one of the two elevators was down and the functioning one had a glitch and took forever to close. It was frustrating and there was no manager on site as it was a Sunday. A couple was there moving their items in and kept asking me how to get the elevator to work because they had the same problem. Not worth switching to another location but still annoying. Management: if you read this, please fix the elevators!

Their own confirmation screen says the rental isn't complete until you call and speak to someone in the office, because only they can remove the lock on your unit. I called six times between August 7 and August 10. Every call went to voicemail. I went to the office three separate times during their posted hours, 10 AM to 2 PM on weekdays, and nobody was there. On the last visit the "Back at 10" sign was still hanging on the door at 10:30. I texted the office number and emailed the management company twice. Nothing came back. They called me exactly once, on August 5. I missed it. That was the only contact they ever made and they never tried again. $175 charged on day one for a unit I could never open. I ended up disputing the charge with my bank and renting somewhere else. If you rent here online, understand that you cannot get into your unit until a human unlocks it, and there may not be a human.

Could not get anyone on the phone, then finally resorted to using the kiosk in the "office," for virtual help. The customer service operator was unable to issue the correct lock and then we were disconnected. Finally connected to another virtual CSR, and she recommended I go and take a key out of another open unit. Helped me immensely, but probably screwed someone else. I paid for a climate controlled unit that did not work. I could never get someone on the phone or to call me back regarding this issue. Then it came time for my move out date, the instructions were to clear the space and take the lock. After my move out date, my account is still showing a balance for this current month. Thankfully before this happened I turned off my auto draft. My profile is now racking up late fees and I can still not get in contact with anyone to resolve the issue. I also got a notice that my rent would be increasing for the next month on the unit I no longer rent. Every time I showed up, the amount of trash pilled around the bins was astounding. Really disgusting and I'm sure that caused an infestation problem. During my visits, I saw evidence of people actually living in some units and the trailers cars etc. parked upfront had clearly been abandoned for some time.

My Wife and I kept our camper at TJ's for almost two years. One of the reasons we chose this…read morefacility was because of the "perceived" security. TJ's website says you don't have to worry about people messing around with your camper, but should anything happen, TJ's master insurance policy "will make sure everything is taken care of". The website also states that they include a tire boot for all units stored outdoors. Our camper was stolen from TJ's almost two months ago in the middle of the night. The thrives breached the padlock gate, hooked up to our travel trailer, and drove away in less than 5 minutes. You might ask why the tire boot didn't stop them. Because their was no boot on the camper and their never had been the entire time we stored it there, to my knowledge. So much for security. We found out about the theft late the next day, after the police called us. Thomas, the owner, didn't give us that courtesy. When we asked what he thought had happened. He stated that although he didn't know for sure, it looked like the thieves could have used a key on the padlocked gate, which would indicate an inside job. Over the next two months, we called Thomas every few weeks to get an update on the insurance investigation, as he never proactively reached out to us. He initially told us that he had well over $100K worth of insurance and everything would be taken care of. After that, he never had any information for us except "They're working on it." He actually had the audacity to be rude a couple of times my Wife called him, almost as if he couldn't be bothered with speaking to customers of his who had their property stolen while it was in his care. Yesterday, we finally spoke to his insurance company and were notified that they would not be covering the loss. I still haven't gotten a good reason why. I immediately called Thomas to see if he planned to honor his word. He stated that he never told me everything would be taken care of. Basically, he has washed his hands of the whole ordeal and is accepting no responsibility. To make matters worse, he didn't even give us the courtesy of telling us directly, instead he called my Wife and gave her the phone number to his insurance company and said "She should call them." I won't make a recommendation as to whether or not you should do business with TJ's, but you should know that the security and insurance policy that they tout aren't as advertised and in our case, if you have a problem you'll be left to handle it on your own. We are very disappointed with how we were treated and by the ethics Thomas demonstrated.
