Do not rent from Go store on 9805 Statesville road! Our unit was rented on May 17. When we returned on June 1, someone had stolen our things. The lock was in brand new condition. and we did not know our things were stolen until we opened the unit.Within 2 1/2 weeks - gone! Facility Review The Go Store It building at 181 Crisanto Ave Fort Mill, SC stayed clean...most of the time. The loading and unloading area that is behind this facility is an absolute joke!! There is barely enough room to maneuver a crew cab truck towing a 12ft trailer here (7 ft wide x 35 ft. in total length). There is a giant trash bin 'building' placed in the 'cul-de-sac' style turning area that hinders getting anything turned around to get back out of this area. A trash bin that, BTW, the renters at this facility are NOT allowed to use!! This being the only area to load and unload, imagine the pain in the fanny it would be if a bigger rig needed to negotiate in and out of there, with multiple cars lined up along the fencing, all doing the same thing on a Saturday afternoon. Finally, only one bathroom is accessible to the tenants, and it is on the third floor. Nowhere in the building is it clearly marked as to its location, so good luck!! Company Review I will give you one star simply for keeping my personal items safe for a little over a year!! We moved from a competitor company because they hiked up the rates $60 in less than a year's time. I informed the manager that worked at the Fort Mill facility of this fact when I became a tenant, but now there is no manager to speak directly to, just a kiosk in the lobby where you go and input your information. Well sure enough...guess what!! Within three months they increased the rate by $40. So, with this manager's encouragement, I moved all our stuff from the original 10x10x10 unit on the first floor to a 10x9x10 unit on the second floor, just to keep the rate similar. I even paid for a unit right next to it because we had just bought a new house and needed a place to store the extra items while we relocated. Managed to eliminate the extra unit before they could increase the payment on that one, thank God!! Now, within a year's time they have increased the rate again!! This time the rate increased by $100 per month for what they are calling 'property improvements'. Nah, I'll pass!! Taking complete advantage of people that you know darn good and well do not or may not have the space at their house to keep some of their stuff is utterly incomprehensible. Charging your tenants for "property improvements" is reprehensible!! I'm so glad that the house we purchased has places to store our stuff and we had the option to leave. There are tenants currently in this facility paying these atrocious prices that do not have the same luxury!! read more

Not Safe Storage, We found our RV broken into October 25 2025. Someone had broken the drivers door lock out and rummaged through our RV! I immediately called and got an answering service that I have the police report to and was told the guy that works there has gone for the day and would rerun my call. Its the following Monday October 27th and no one has contacted me. They apparently never review their cameras or have anyone working to deter theft. Looks like there are many bad reviews!! read more

Do not rent from the company. They get you to rent a low ball prices and then raises the rent by 45%. Some of their facilities suppose to be temperature control, but they are not. They have the air off assumingly to share them cost..... They do not honor the services they say they provide read more

As other has mentioned, the gate has been broken for 6 months and the thieves know it. Multiple break-in's have been reported. My RV was broken into and the locks damaged. They make it extremely difficult to cancel when you decide to move to somewhere that has a functional gate. read more

DON'T RENT HERE! Our 24 FT food truck was stolen from the facility. We pay monthly to park it there. No one knew until I was contacted by DMV theft division. Staff told me camera does not point to our parking spot. Video, gates etc is a false sense of security. They were not surprised about the theft and shared the endless theft rings occurring on property. No support or care. It's normal business. read more

Go store it = Go somewhere else! The unit was climate controlled and spacious. However, the rent was raised every 3 months. They do not tell you that when you sign your lease. Also, the initial price they used to catch me ended up being about $100 more after they finished calculating everything. Get your own lock! read more

I was recently robbed of my personal belongings at the Statesville Rd location in Charlotte, NC. I had to walk my unit with a CMPD officer and file a police report. I was one of several individuals who rent from this location who was robbed. It was very frustrating working with the staff, as I had to talk to "a wall" literally. They have a wall with virtual staff who appear once you walk through the door at the location (there was a real person sitting at a desk when I first rented the unit). After talking to the wall and staff on the phone (over 10 times - never saw anyone in person - the infamous PM Betty). I was still unable to access my unit timely. Good solutions were not provided by the staff in the wall or on the phone (Kevin was helpful and called me back). It was three days later that I was able to get in. Finally, it's my understanding that this location has been being robbed since July! I was never given a contact name & email address so I could express myself to upper management, thus this lengthy review. Perhaps someone will notice...I doubt it though! Beware folks! I advise you to buy 3-4 locks for your unit. Thieves are relentless. What I lost.....Oh & this location continually raises the rent! Go figure! I'll be glad when I can get out of there. read more

BEWARE!!!! My property was destroyed in this Go Store It location. The current owners have taken no responsibility for wood items that were suppose to be in AC units but were found covered in mold and trashed by humidity. The owners are aware of a problem but refer any claims to the previous owners insurance company where water damage is not covered. DO NOT place your belongings here. The property may look shiny and new but it is plagued. read more

GoStoreIt just acquired CubeSmart at this location. My first interaction with the new owner was 9/22/18 where in I was onsite and locked out of my storage unit and forced to pay balance owed before entry. I proceeded to pay the amount owed and received a $0 balance receipt. Entry to the gate and unit, and a new passcode. On 10/15/18 via email I was informed that my unit will be locked and gate code suspended until I paid the amount of $690. GoStoreIt has no proof of balance owed and admitted that Cubesmart did not give them payment records. Please tell me how it is legal to hold my storage items with a $0 receipt? As well, I keep my own records and this is why I paid balance in full on the 9/22/18. This is straight strong arm robbery and I am seeking legal counsel. It is horrible that a company has this much power with no merit but if I were to pull-up and just run through the fence and come take my shit then I would be wrong. Now its lawsuit time. TL;DR - Would not recommend. Business is sneaky and ruined all my furniture while covertly amending my contract to no longer cover me for my losses, even though they required me to pay $12/mo for storage insurance. Sneaky business, riddled with mold - they ruined over $1k worth of my furniture due to pervasive mold that was present in multiple units in both buildings. I had insurance to cover this but Go Store It sneakily amended all of the contracts to no longer cover mold damage when they initially discovered the issue a few months prior. Rather than notify any of the tenants of these mold issues, they instead sent an email out to everyone stating "During a recent audit of our files we noted that we don't have your signature on the Coverage Addendum. Will you please sign the form and initial the coverage you have and send it back to us. We just want to make sure that if you ever do have to file a claim we have all the paperwork necessary to expedite the process without any issue." Little did I know that this meant they were amending my contract/insurance to no longer cover mold damage. When I notified Go Store It of the mold issues in my unit, I didn't get an apology or anything to try to make it right. They just contacted their attorney and got them to send me a letter saying I had no options. So now I'm out $1,500. Would never use again. read more
