I recently called to confirm details regarding my storage unit billing. During the call, I asked to verify my monthly charges and was informed that I was being billed $12.00 per month for insurance. I explained that I had sent a copy of my insurance declaration page on June 24, 2025. I was then told that my insurance had expired in September 2025. When I asked why I did not receive any reminder or notification regarding the expiration, I was told it was my responsibility to track and update my insurance. My concern with this response is that the company utilizes a third-party service to monitor insurance coverage in order to begin charging customers when coverage lapses, yet there appears to be no process in place to notify customers before additional charges are applied. I then requested contact information for the district manager and was told, "You won't like her answer--she will tell you we are all adults and need to manage our own business transactions." I found this response dismissive and unprofessional, and it further reinforced my frustration with how this situation was handled. I believe a simple notification or reminder would be a reasonable and customer-focused step, especially when insurance tracking is already being monitored. Unfortunately, the lack of communication and the manner in which my concerns were addressed fell well below my expectations.

Manager Chandler, and staff members Tim and Michael provided amazing service, patiently answered my questions, provided a tour of the facility, and thoroughly reviewed and explained my lease. I left feeling confident that my belongings will be completely safe. Most of all, their friendliness and professionalism made me feel that my business is appreciated. Customer service is extremely important to me and these gentlemen receive an A+. Store Space Hilliard-Brown provides exceptional indoor climate controlled self storage in a secure and heavily monitored 3-story building. The entire facility is immaculate and very well maintained. They offer storage units in a variety of sizes to fit the customer's needs. There are two large elevators to accommodate large loads of items. They even have flatbed carts to use free of charge. I love that I can enter my unique building code to open a large garage door and pull my car into a sheltered and heated loading area. Several cars can easily fit in the space at once. The ability to unload and load items into my car while avoiding the elements outdoors is priceless. Store Space also sells a variety of moving and storage supplies as well as enhanced safety locks for the individual storage space doors. I have access to my storage space 7 days a week between 6am and 10pm. I highly recommend Store Space Hilliard-Brown located at 3927 Brown Park Drive. Their prices are very competitive with other storage places that are outdoors and not climate controlled.

I strongly advise proceeding with caution. My move took place on March 13th and was poorly executed from start to finish. A job estimated at three hours took well over six hours due to inefficiency and lack of coordination. During the move, my property was mishandled, resulting in a broken mirror and damage to the walls. Communication throughout the process was minimal and disorganized, with no clear updates or accountability. I was also charged an unexpected $500 overtime fee. While this fee was eventually refunded, the circumstances raise serious concerns. I was informed that a full refund would not be considered because, in the company's history, they "do not do that," and that as long as the move was completed, the quality of service was irrelevant. While interactions with Shayne (Branch Manager) were frustrating at times, he did make efforts within his authority and indicated that approval was needed from Ben (Regional Manager) to process a full refund. It was implied this would be approved, and Shayne appeared confident in that direction. However, once escalated, communication became inconsistent. Ben was unavailable, and this was later referenced as a reason for delays. When I spoke with Brian (CMO), the response did not reflect a thorough review. Instead, assumptions were made, the tone was patronizing, and there was no meaningful effort to resolve the concerns. At no point was there accountability, de-escalation, or empathy. This experience raises serious concerns regarding service quality, communication, and leadership accountability. Proceed with extreme caution.
