This Petco also has a Vetco,…read morewhich is what brought my husband, our little girl dog and I to come because our little girl had gotten fleas at the hotel that we had stayed the night before (truly a nightmare while traveling). The Vetco is right by the front entrance of this Petco, just make a left after you come in. We were greeted by a nice and friendly employee behind the counter. She helped checked us in and also greeted our little girl. She took her weight and then ushered us to an examination room. After that, a vet tech took some of our little girl's vitals and also did a physical exam. Then we waited for the vet. This veterinarian was excellent. He was friendly and very sweet to our little girl dog. He did not dismiss our concerns and listened intently. We have gone to other veterinarians where I felt that they didn't really listen or were not forth coming in what they were trying to tell us. They also did not treat our other dogs as nicely. I recall the veterinarian who abruptly touched our male dog's mouth to look at his teeth and said they were moderately dirty, which was not true, as we are very good about brushing our dog's teeth every night. He had hardly looked at his mouth (but another veterinarian we had seen at the same facility had praised us for such clean teeth on a separate visit). This veterinarian we had on this visit to Vetco was the complete opposite and greatly appreciate his kindness towards us and our little girl. We ended up getting 2 months worth of flea medication and were on our way. We were also given this veterinarian's business card in case we had trouble with purchasing any additional flea medication online (Since it is usually cheaper than getting them at the vet's office). Overall, this Vetco was excellent and the care our little girl received was truly the best.

He would completely lose his mind…read moreon walks when he saw: People Cars Bikes, Dogs Birds, Things that moved ...basically he would freak out, barking and lunging, just lose it, ever time we tried to walk him. He would also bark constantly at home with every little noise, and try to herd our cats around the house to the point they got so stressed out they were spraying. Long walks, which my husband and I loved, were impossible and super embarrassing because he triggered the whole neighborhood of dogs with his incessant barking. Holly stepped in and within the first visit-THE VERY FIRST VISIT!!!-we had a walkable dog! She bonded with Max and spoke his language right away. Lounging on the couch peacefully with our cats was possible again. Barking is now manageable and appropriate for the situation (doorbell, ect.), and we can stop the barking with a calm verbal command. Holly is so great! You should definitely hire her! I hate to say that I was disappointed, but I left empty-handed. Like many smaller pet stores, they can carry only so much merchandise. The staff (and the customers!) were surprisingly easy to talk to, and I felt I could hang out there all evening. Lots of good vibes. Since I was there for only one night, I don't know how easy it is to order what you need, although I've never had a problem with smaller stores in the past. My impression was that they would be happy to do so. One thing that I found amusing is that they sell cigarettes, too. I wouldn't be surprised if the bulk of their income results from these products. (It's not a bad business decision, really. Tobacco sells and there are always customers for it. I'm sure it can tide them over if sales of pet products slump.) * For what it's worth, PetSmart didn't have what I required, either.

They have always been great in customer service. If I needed something special they order it for me. The reason I still shop here is because of the deal I get on my dog food. I only feed Grain Free to ALL my pets. So I literally have to go to all the major pet stores to find the best prices. Some of my cat food cans are up to $1.69 per can and I definately watch the sales weekly. So mini pet mart has this customer program for the Nutro dog food- you buy 10 bags- they keep track of it for me and keep it in a file- then I get a free bag on the 11th visit. It's $53 per bag of dog food and my two 100 lb dogs go through a bag every two weeks. So every 5 months I get a free bag and I love this perk. So yes, it makes it worth it to come here separately and keep the punch card active. They also often have the dog food on sale for $48- which helps too. For folks who smoke cigarettes, mini pet mart beats most prices for smokes. I see Tons of customers just coming in for cigarettes- so obviously they're coming for the good prices. They have one of the best selections of leashes, harnesses and collars too. One whole wall is all animal gear- so this is a great store to find the best colors and variety.

Our most recent visit was unplanned and I felt it was emergent. I loaded my fur baby into the car and headed straight to the office. I was expecting the worst case scenario, but hoping for the best. Dakota (Front Desk Coordinator/ Miracle Worker) has been consistently kind, compassionate and always upbeat and welcoming over the years. This visit was no different. Dakota is very calming and compassionate. Even though it was an extremely busy day of surgeries and scheduled appointments, Dakota managed to plea on our behalf and was able to fit us in for a "drop off appointment" for just $70 (NOTE: This is extremely generous considering the circumstances; about the same a the cost of an annual exam). I agreed to the necessary x-rays and signed off on the quoted range for what was the best case scenerio: Two x-rays + the medication/procedure to induce vomiting (I recall it being a range of $323-$520 something) *fingers crossed* Even with such a tight schedule, Dr. Glenn Winters himself called me within ~1hr and told me the "good news". My pup did not swallow an object as I suspected, but rather had a case of "Dog colitis". l had to look it up. Dr. Winters is very confident that they only needed to take a single x-ray and my pup needed 2 medications to soothe the inflammation of his bowels; I was able to pick him up and take him home right away. I was hopeful, yet skeptical that the severe symptoms (sudden blood coming out of rear, some vomiting, no eating for 24hrs, becoming lethargic) were so easily diagnosed. Dr. Winters did not require blood work, no extensive lab panel(s), no overnight fees, no extra fee-fee, very straight forward. The final bill was MUCH LESS than originally estimated. He was exactly right on the diagnosis. Damn, this Dr. has a real gift when it comes to animals. This place Under promises and OVER DELIVERS each and every time. 10/10. 5-stars for Yelp, but when a place is consistently 5-stars, you just hafta give them proper credit. I picked my pup up right away, I brought him home and force fed him his 2 pills and watched him like a hawk for the rest of the day. There has been an almost immediate improvement in his condition after administering the 1st doses. Wow, just wow. Thank goodness for Dr. Winters, I honestly don't know what I'd do without his EXPERTISE :D
