Wow! This shop is great! I brought my 3 year old daughter in this morning to pick up some gluten free birthday donuts for my husband. It's his first birthday since being diagnosed with celiac so I was excited to find a local place for a treat for him. The GF donuts are like super moist little cakes! My husband likes plain donuts so we got some chocolate glazed and regular glazed ones. They keep them separate from the other donuts so I wasn't concerned about cross contamination. Great donut shop. The owner and staff are very personable and helpful. They were making fresh donuts during my visit in the late morning, which is rare to see past the early morning hours for most donut shops like this. They get creative with the donuts but also have plenty of standards. I wouldn't classify them as "gourmet" but they're still really good. I had the Monte Cristo sandwich yesterday and it was pretty good. I would love to try burger next time. The donuts are pretty good and there's a lot of unique choices to choose from. They might be a little higher priced than a regular donut shop but then again you're not gonna find a lot of these donuts in a regular donut shop. When I walk into a donut store and ask for a dozen donuts, I don't ever expect to spend over 20 dollars........ when he rang up the dozen ..... I shook my head, but when he asked me to put my pin it also asked if I wanted to tip the person that lifted the 12 donuts and put them in a box (very gently)..... 12%, 15%, 18%.......... WHAT!! When I shared this story with a coworker she said that her bill was 44 for 2 dozen donuts..... Don't go to this place, I simply wanted to get a ham, cheese and jalapeño croissant so I called to make sure they have it before I spend my time driving over. So i spoke with one of the employees and they ensured me they had some so I told them I would be right in and no less than 5 minutes later when I show up to the shop and went in I was told that they were all sold out of that exact same croissant that I asked for over the phone. Why would you tell a customer you have it and then when They show up tell them that it's all sold out and on top of that she tried to get me to buy the "Ortega Chile and cheese croissant" instead. This place is okay. I've been here twice now, the first time I was seriously annoyed. I ordered a dozen donuts, and then was picking them out from the case right in front of me. Turns out, 80% of the case is "specialty donuts" that you have to pay an extra dollar for, each. There was about two trays of "regular" donuts in the case, and then the rest were on racks behind the counter and not visible from the customers view. This felt super bait and switch to me if you will. I totally understand specialty donuts cost more to make, so you sell them for more.. duh. But they need to have more of the regular donuts in the front case for customers to see. I came here my second time Christmas Eve. I ordered 18 dozen donut holes for a tower hole tower at our family's Christmas Eve brunch. I got 6 dozen powdered donut holes 6 dozen chocolate glazed And 6 dozen sprinkle. Pricing on the holes was totally fair, but I didn't open the boxes until I got home because I was in a hurry. The powder donut holes were exactly what I was expecting, holes covered in powder. However, the chocolate glaze... was more like chocolate drizzed on the holes. So they were completely covered in chocolate. And again, I expected the sprinkle to be completely coated in sprinkles. They were not. They were barely covered at all. I was pretty bummed. All the donut holes were different sizes too which I wasn't expecting but whatever. The donuts here do taste good, and if you want 1-2 of the special donuts then cool, I really like & I support small local businesses but I don't see how this place will survive once the Dunkin is open across the street unless they change a lot.
