Throughout that time, communication was outstanding with every e-mail and question promptly addressed. The Grove staff walked us through every step, met every request and every spoken and unspoken need. (For example, light refreshments were provided for the wedding party prior to the ceremony. When they noticed that the guys retrieved the girls' leftovers, they prepared and sent over a huge platter of homemade chicken fingers and fries. This went above and beyond any expectations, but they didn't want the guys hungry.) Guests marveled over the beauty of the entire venue, especially with the glorious sunset and twinkling lights in the trees. The food was absolutely delicious, not your standard event food, and I heard several people remark they had never had a wedding meal this good. Our photographer told us that every meal there was excellent, but our guests especially raved over the almond-crusted chicken tenders, an add-on dish, and the horseradish mashed potatoes. The flow of events from ceremony to cocktail hour to dinner to cake to dancing to send off was flawless; our guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The yard games were thoroughly enjoyed; no one was ever 'bored' waiting for the next event. The decorations and display tables exceeded the bride's vision and everything was carefully packed away at the end of the night for us; Venue at the Grove is truly a full-service wedding facility. They connected us with the best photographer (Tony George), bakery (Sugarlips...people who don't like cake loved it), DJ, bartenders, and Photo Booth people. I could rave endlessly about how pleased we were with everything. However, the biggest difference with this venue is that everyone who worked there truly conveyed that they CARED about ensuring the day was magical for the couple and their guests. It's obvious that Venue at the Grove is a business that operates out of passion for creating happy beginnings. We cannot thank them enough for their role in this special day.

It's hard to list out all the reasons I love Mini Social: the event space itself, the customization that's possible, the location in Old Town Scottsdale, the kitchen, the storage space in the back, the lighting, 2 bathrooms inside, and all the options with the furniture (tables, chairs, couch, coffee table, etc) are all 10/10. Beyond this though, the team behind Mini Social is what stands out at the top of my list - they are truly so unmatched. You won't meet people more committed to making your event magical. While many people use Mini Social for private parties, baby showers, bridal showers, birthdays, corporate events, etc, my experience has been with hosting craft socials for women's community events. I felt so supported by the team and got so much help from them in customizing the setup for my needs, plenty of time for setup and cleanup, and epic communication. They are absolute pros! Jessica is super talented when it comes to design elements, florals, balloons, etc. I feel like planning and hosting events can be so stressful and there are so many moving elements. It can be hard to let go of control or certain aspects in planning - but Luke & Jessica make it so easy and operate like your teammates. Cannnnnot wait to host another event here!

The music was awesome and overall I had a great time, I would have given 5 stars if everything was cool, except not everything was cool. Main issue I have with the venue is lack of restrooms for that many people. There has to be more access to restrooms with people drinking and dancing and partying. The line for both inside and outside toilets was insane... I heard so many people commenting about the situation. Maybe next time, more porta potties outside so 1) there are more options and less lines, and 2) the ones that are available aren't so disgusting. I've used many porta johns at many festivals, for this size venue the 3 they had outside (without leaving the show) were gross. I literally could not touch anything in there. Just hover and pee. They had 2 more when you leave but there were no ins/outs so those weren't an option. This can be done better, I know cause I've been to places where taking care of peoples basic needs are more attended to. Anyway, otherwise great time. Music & sound were on point and the lasers were so cool. #ilovelazers

Warehouse 215 is a nice venue. While I don't know a ton about what types of events they host outside of the one I attended, they had portable chairs set up surrounding the performance. Not the most comfortable chairs but bearable for the hour performance. There's exposed wood on the ceiling which adds to the aesthetic. During the event I attended, there were bars both inside the main area and out (no food though) as well as bathrooms both inside the main area and out. After buying an adult beverage, I accidentally left my credit card at the bar. When I realized it a few minutes later, the bartender was waiting for me with my card. Crisis averted! Overall, pretty nice venue.

Attending a vendor conference in the Phoenix-area, the last night of the conference was a private party on the Desert Foothills grounds. While Phoenix was suffering through an unseasonably cold winter, the amenities of Desert Foothills didn't dampen anyone's spirits in the slightest. From the retro, ranch-like "Welcome" sign, to the warm and welcoming firepits and patio heaters spread generously throughout the grounds, the venue had everything you could ask for in an open air space. Burros wearing cooler saddles entertained--and refreshed--the attendees, and clever miniature buckets containing everything you needed to make s'mores were nice touches. If you did get too cold, the barn area was very warm and toasty, with an impressive light display and plenty of room for dining, mingling, and a live musical performance (one that, with superior sound and speakers throughout the venue, you could hear clearly no matter where you were). Again, everything was top-notch and I'm jealous of anyone that hosts their event here in the future! The only downside to my experience is that they only do check ins after 4pm. I was placed on a waitlist to see if I could check in earlier but it didn't really make a difference. I don't think I've been at other hotels with these policies before and I would have reconsidered my hotel options had I have know earlier. They do have a bag check service. I wanted to show them…read morethat Phoenix has more to offer than cacti, 115-degree weather, and Instagram worthy rooftops. I was looking for a spot with fresh, flavorful food, a relaxed vibe, and maybe a little something extra to keep my teenage nieces and nephew entertained. MATCH Market & Bar checked just about every box. Before we even ordered, the kids were already wandering through the little market area, which turned out to be half the fun. They found a locally designed jigsaw puzzle, grabbed a few unique snacks for later, and suddenly I had bought myself a few uninterrupted minutes to look over the menu. Parents, aunts, uncles... you know those moments are priceless. Now let's talk about the food. We went all in. Salmon, steak, fresh salads, wings, tacos, appetizers, a sandwich (don't ask me which one because everybody was reaching across the table stealing bites), fries, and every plate was a winner. Everything tasted fresh and had just enough creativity without trying too hard to be "chef-y." It felt like the kind of menu where almost anyone can find something they'll enjoy. My one... and only..,. complaint? The ordering system. Call me old-fashioned, but I'm still a fan of sitting down, having someone take my order, and easing into the dining experience. Ordering at the register, grabbing a table number, and waiting for food delivery always feels a little like upscale cafeteria dining to me. It certainly didn't ruin the experience, but if MATCH ever switched to full table service, I'd probably become a regular. The atmosphere was easygoing and welcoming. We visited early in the afternoon, so it wasn't buzzing just yet. We enjoyed our meal, caught up on family gossip, laughed way too loudly a few times, and then headed out. I noticed they host live music and other events in the evenings, though, and I have a feeling the whole place takes on a completely different personality after dark. If you're looking for a casual lunch with fresh food, good ingredients, and a downtown location that somehow manages to avoid feeling chaotic, MATCH is absolutely worth checking out. The pricing was fair and appropriate for this area, so that was a plus. It's the kind of place that's equally good for a quick bite, meeting friends, or bringing out-of-town guests who want something a little different. Will I be back? I think so. But next time I'm coming in the evening. I want to see this place with a cocktail in hand, music playing, and a little more of the energy that I suspect makes MATCH shine.
