Mohamed. I just read your reply, therfore, didn't come out saturday. I am however going t to change my review to 5 stars for, in my opinion, excellent customer service to fix a valid mistake. For a company to make valid verified issues correct is sometimes more valuable to me than the money itself. This location has excellent customers service and great prices. The yard was very clean too. I would do business again with them and would recommend them. Feel free to read further for my original issue. But I do feel that you it will be made right and was a mistake that hopefully wouldn't happen again I up'd my 1 star to 2 stars because they did reach out to me and said to call them on sunday. However. I live in stockton and the difference probably would of been around what it would cost in gas to drive there and back. I will try calling him this sunday and update my review. Great recycling place! Glad to know about this location. Before I dread to always go to the one near downtown on 9th street - always packed and very small place with very limited parking. This one is a more open place with much better parking. Thumbs up to the friendly and helpful staffs as other reviewers have mentioned. They help bring me the containers and kindly directed me what to do and where to go after loading all my recyclables. Highly recommend this location! read more

Spoiler Alert the following is a str8 up *employee of the month* true story real life events okay so I'll begin by highlighting the sad fact that too few bosses nowadays consider feedback essential, hopefully the owner or whoever signs these hardworking fellas paychecks will reward these guys though because they day in day out sweating in hundred degree weather making recycling- what typically feels like a chore seem more like a visit with your local teammates partners friends etc. each of the four employees I interacted with werent just helpful they were kind, nice, and respectful which just is so rare and so appreciated seriously I cant shower enough praises or applause through the screen but if I weren't literally recycling cans to afford gas money I would go confetti bomb these guys myself like new uniforms new work boots new gloves sunglasses hydration station all that I would pull up and sensationalize just how this particular group of guys on this particular day restored my dwindling faith in humanity. And no i'm not related to one of them or just being one of those goes-on-forever got nothing better to do than compose complementary yelp reviews. I made this yelp account specifically for the purposes of giving credit where credit due. Period. These guys saved me and my guy from a tow we couldn't afford, on top of a fee we couldn't afford to replace the $200 key fob we lost during the recycling sorting process, they honestly to some extent saved our relationship that afternoon because lemme tell you we were really taking the frustration of the situation out on each other . If you've ever had a similar misfortune of finding yourself just utterly up s#!ts creek without a paddle and had someone see your struggle and offer a helping hand or a kind word of encouragement than you'll understand why ive taken the time to review this business in such a positive light. My hope is that my words are read by the people who I unfortunately don't have the means of thanking properly. bless your heart Mike who came over and helped my dude push our stranded car out the lot when it was closing time to lock the gate this man happily rolled his sleeves up and offered to push us across the street rather than have us towed and even went so far as to ask if there was anything else he could do it was just really one of those heart of gold what a guy type of things you know? I wish I knew the names of the two other employees they were younger guys very respectful. I'm not sure who specifically found our keys wedged wherever they were stuck but to the collective group effort that found our keys we owe you. As far as my research has taken me throughout the wormholes of the internet, leading me through to Yelp, and landing on GO-GREEN Modesto Recycling Center turned out to be gold. First off, for a shop to be immediately responsive, in terms of hands-on customer care explanation to someone that still doesn't know an Aluminum can from a tin can shows experience with the community it serves. Now I know the differences between Aluminum cans, clear CRV and/or Non-clear CRV plastic bottles and Non-CA redemption; ie. mostly home cleaning containers, Costco OJ containers and my favorite Coffeemate Creamer. GO MODESTO is the BEST Choice to Lead us to a cleaner city One container of recyclables at a time. read more

Modesto is supposedly one of the first U.S. cities to start a curbside recycling program, but Modesto neighborhoods don't seem to recycle plastics, glass, and metals curbside?! - Correct me if I'm wrong. Think of how many tons of recyclable stuff goes to the landfills every year. I was told that it's the local voters that keep voting no on recycling measures/elections. Shame on you guys. Or are they voting no because there are so many recycling companies around here? My particular apartment complex doesn't recycle plastics, paper, aluminum, etc. I felt guilty every time I threw an item that could otherwise be recycled into the garbage. So after a little searching & emailing the county recycling coordinator, I eventually found Go Green Recycling (a place that would accept plastics) from the Stanislaus County website. I've been to Go Green Recycling a handful of times and they are courteous and fast. I've witnessed the employees being nice to people who are homeless which is cool. Depending on what time of day you go it can get pretty busy or very hot midday in the summer. They have water misters from the shaded tent which can help. I was impressed that the workers are professional and efficient despite the tough working conditions. Mr. Mohamad (I saw his name tag, he might be the boss) said something like, "Hello Ma'am, how are you doing? Thank you very much. Is there anything else I can help you with." The employee who took each big bin, weighed it, entered the different types of items in the computer, and gave me $ was also pretty nice. You have to separate every type of item yourself into the big bins on wheels they provide. For instance, all the glass has to be separated by color (green, clear, brown). Soda cans definitely have to be separated from the water bottles. Even the random weird stuff I brought (big metal tube from a table) was priced out and accepted. I think the only time they didn't calculate something (didn't weigh it and tossed it aside) was a tiny bag of glass. I was thrilled to find a local place that would accept random plastics with symbols #1 to #7 (I didn't separate these plastics from each other). Thanks Go Green! Do separate out the water bottles though because you probably get more money for water bottles. Even with a small household, it's surprising how much plastic we go through. Plastic cups, milk bottles, laundry detergent containers, to-go condiment cups, yogurt containers... it all adds up. I'm lucky enough to have an outdoor storage closet where I can hoard bags and bags of recyclables for a few months before I need to drop it off here. They don't take paper here, so I have to bring my random office paper, junk mail, cardboard boxes from foods, etc. all the way down to American Recycling in Ceres. read more

I went here today at their (Modesto Location) for my recycling like I have been doing for many years now. I had a minor error with my can cash in, my fault....and then had a miscommunication about my paperwork reciept, My fault again...sorry about that gentleman. Long story short, The Boss Man, and crew team running the place are great! #1 Recycling business in Stanislaus County, they have more locations..! The boss had me come inside and personally took care of everything..he was a very respectful and honest man. Hands down great Establishment ! 100% They were very busy and were able to take care of everything very smoothly and quickly. The gentleman that personally took care of my recycling was great! I recycled my cans and plastic bottles here today. There were a lot of people standing in line and all the empty plastic garbage cans were used up. I was first in line waiting for the empty plastic garbage cans with an Hispanic man standing behind me also waiting. I'm Caucasian. The Hispanic worker pushed 3 empty garbage cans right past me and gave them to the Hispanic man standing behind me. The Hispanic worker told me I had to wait behind the white line while saying nothing to the Hispanic man waiting behind me. I will never recycle my cans or bottles with this recycling place ever again as this worker is racist against white people. My Hispanic wife witnessed the entire thing. read more

I visited Go Green on a busy, hot, Saturday morning. Even though the parking lot was very full, the attendants directed me to a parking area. I was new to Go Green and they expedited my visit by bringing several recycling, rolling trash cans over to my car. In fact, about 3 attendants stopped by to see if I had questions. I had a lot saved up to recycle. The line to recycle was long at noon on a Saturday (get there earlier, if you can!) and Go Green had misters to cool customers standing in line - nice idea! Found this place about 4 years ago through a contact at work. Love it because they take almost everything - tin cans and non CRV glass and plastic - so you don't have to throw it way. U've Even taken brass fitting from home projects and a cracked aluminum car rim I found. Staff is always friendly and helpful and they always have good music playing while you wait and a bottle hand sanitizer for after.
