I used to ride with Megabus but due to the price hike and route changes I was forced to ride elsewhere. I've used Go Buses a few times now and am VERY happy with the switch. Almost every time I have had a driver named Jill. She's super nice and made sure the bathroom was clean and trash was emptied before people boarded the bus. Great communication too, last time it was during a snow storm, she was very informative. So far every time, everything has been great. Also, I had to make a change to a reservation and within 5 mins of sending the email I received a call, unfortunately I was unable to answer it. Then a bit later received another and was told that my reservation issue was all set. Thank you to the 2 women that called and thank you Go buses! Greatly appreciated! I have used different bus co. To go from RI to NYC over the years. I have never had so many issues as this trip. Bus a/c belt brakes and my husband had to take it off or we would have been there waiting at least an hour in the heat. Then on the bus home we were in an accident in New Haven,CT. Go Buses - All by myself on the go bus. - Buses Near Me - Providence, Rhode Island

I take Go Bus, Megabus, and Peter Pan frequently between Rhode Island and NYC. I will never again take Go Bus from Providence to New York. A trip I had earlier this year on a Go Bus took us down a parkway in Westchester that is illegal for oversized vehicles. The parkways are illegal for large trucks and buses because they either have bridges or overpasses commercial vehicles can't clear. Fortunately, our driver was pulled over going down the parkway by a police officer. The pull over added 30-40 minutes to our trip. The driver was instructed to exit the parkway immediately. Finally we started moving again, but within three minutes heard sirens and were pulled over again. The driver blew right past the parkway exit and continued to stay on it illegally. It was only after the police officer threatened to take away the driver's CDL that he finally obliged and left the parkway. This incident added at least an hour to our journey and more importantly put the driver and his passengers in danger. Even more disheartening is that I attempted to contact Go Bus immediately after this ride and was not able to get a response from anybody. Not a company I can trust anymore. My brother took Go Bus two weeks later and his driver also drove illegally down the parkway. It's inexcusable for a company to hire incompetent drivers who don't follow the law and endanger their passengers. If it were possible to give a review and also give zero stars, I would. read more

Inexpensive, comfortable, and fairly quick. Check-In consists of giving your name to the person at the entrance who checks on a tablet. I got from ny to providence in 3 hours which is perfect. You can't go wrong for how much you are paying and I will definitely be using them again. read more

Extremely dissatisfied with GO Bus , please do yourself a favor and do your research before getting into these buses. I had a bus from NYC to Boston at 4:30 and the bus was delayed until 6:30! Mind you we had no idea of when and why the bus was delayed for 2 hours ! A group of people waited outside the streets of NY city for two hours in the blazing sun with no explanation of why the bus was delayed. This is truly unprofessional. The "Dispatcher" had no idea and could not give us any information on the bus to Boston. He was also very unprofessional and poorly trained in handling difficult situations. I am so mad along with 30 more people because we are en route to Boston since 6:30 pm and will be getting home until 11 pm. This is bizarre, please do your research and don't choose these phonies. read more

Easy to find, easy to check in, clean, free wifi, power, water, departed on time. I read so many bad reviews about them and had completely wonderful experience. Only downside was the parking in Providence. It was too early, the close parking lots weren't open yet. We parked at the train station, which was a little bit of a walk. read more

The only good thing about this company is the the low price. The space between sits is so small that you cannot even fully open your laptop as it hits the back side of the site in front of you (and no, there is to tray/table for the laptop). The outlets are useless as whatever you plug in there falls within a minute! WI-Fi? Does not work at all. You'd better off using your cellular data if you want to send a mail or message. read more

Free water & clean seats. Spacing is about the same as Mega Bus, so get ready to be crammed. Power port works well, except the wifi is garbage; I recommend downloading offline games and play along the ride if you don't have data plan. read more

WiFi definitely does not work -- they say it does, there are routers but both rides I was on definitely did not function. Also our stop in Providence was supposed to leave after only 30 minutes waiting but we left only after an hour of waiting -- PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE at that point to make it to nyc by the time scheduled but the bus drivers blamed traffic. I think their hq screwed up the schedule. read more

It may be tempting to be suck in by there cheap prices but this Bus is service is horrible!! The bus Never show up to the Providence stop. I wait an 1hr and 20 minutes past my departure time. Couldn't get of hold of anybody on customer service. Left a message and never received a call back. I would avoid this company at all cost!!!!!!! read more

Worst experience I have ever had riding a bus. IF YOU REQUIRE HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE TRANSPORTATION, DO NOT RIDE ON A GO BUS. I was traveling with a friend of mine who is wheelchair bound, going from Canal St in Providence to NYC. We boarded the bus in Providence at 6am on a Sunday, only for the employees to not be able to figure out how to operate the wheelchair lift. We waited in the cold for them to read the instructions only for them to laugh and give us half-hearted excuses - that this is the first time they've used it, that it's rusty, etc. They also struggled a bit to get her off the bus once we had arrived, but we brushed it off. We boarded another Go Bus a week later in NYC to return home to Providence, and though it was a different driver and a different bus, once again the wheelchair lift could not be operated. They tried to have other drivers and employees help, but to no avail. My friend and I were left in the cold to the point where my friend couldn't feel her feet. They did not offer her assistance into a warmer bus or somewhere nearby, but rather let her wait for them for an hour in the windy, freezing cold (they offered her a skimpy blanket halfway through our wait, as an afterthought). They finally decided to completely empty our bus, which was now running almost 45 minutes off schedule, and call in another bus, which they also had issues working the ramp on. Every passenger originally on our bus also had to switch buses, and we had to wait even longer for them to transfer all of our luggage. Even after they got her onto the bus, they left the door open for an extended period while they spoke, so she was STILL being blasted with cold air even after she was on board. We finally got moving and returned to Providence, only to face MORE issues. They couldn't figure out, for the FOURTH TIME, how to get her off, and ended up calling the FIRE DEPARTMENT to help her off. The staff continually blamed it on technical issues, but there was a clear lack of operative understanding. Even if technical issues played a part, if you drive a bus with handicap accessibility equipment, you not only need to make sure you actually know how to use it, but also that it is actually FUNCTIONING. It was an incredibly awful experience, and we were not offered any sort of compensation for it. When informed them that we will not be driving with them again, they only responded with a half-hearted, disappointed, "awww". My family rides Go buses all the time. The buses are clean and the crowd is safer and more pleasant. This winter my kids missed their bus in Manhattan. They called their friend who was on the bus already to see if the driver could hold the bus. Understandably the driver could not do so, and they boarded a different bus that night and I thought that the $60 in bus fares was lost ... A week later I brought my son to the go buses station in Newton and happened to mention the previous week's incident to the manager Lewis Aflalo. He recalled it, since the bus driver had contacted him back then. He was able to issue the credit back for the missed rides based on the fact that we ride the bus frequently. He also coached my son to be more punctual, explaining how it's a vital life skill (always more effective coming from someone other than your mom). Lewis gave my son a bottle of water and was overall very helpful. They often send out emails with discount codes. I wish they would have a longer window to take advantage of those sales, Lewis plz take note ;) read more

Nice clean modern bus from Providence to New York. Pleasant interior with seats you can endure. First arrival into NYC as Peter Pan leaves later and the more cramped Megabus dawdles along, perhaps as the double deckers are governed at a slower speed. 30th St @ 10th Avenue is a good dropout spot though out in the weather but you can skip the gritty Port Authority terminal at least. Very clean, spacious and timely. Working outlets in ever row! I rode from Providence to NYC, and only about 6 other people were on the bus. I had plenty of space with a whole row to myself, free water, and wifi. Although you cannot stream Netflix, there is basic wifi where you can check your Facebook, emails, etc. The driver told us he doesn't normally stop, but if we feel uncomfortable using the bus bathroom, he would pull over to a rest stop for us. As I arrived at the bus there was a man there waiting to check me in, and assist me with my baggage into the bus. Overall, a great experience. read more

While the bus is fairly clean, we were not given a complimentary bottle of water and the temperature on the bus was absolutely FREEZING. After two hours of riding and shivering, and discussing how freezing it was with the passengers in the surrounding rows, my friend asked the driver if he could warm up the bus a bit. The driver replied that "bodies generate heat" and that "he's the boss" and refused to accommodate our needs. He also did not make any stops between Boston and New York, although I'm sure everyone would have liked a quick stretch and a bite to eat. Price is great and we ride this bus often to NYC but the WiFi has never worked on any trip we've ever taken, makes me wonder if they actually even have it... Oh, and the power receptacles don't work, either. Otherwise the service is good and the drivers are friendly. Never booking with this company again. Missed the bus from Boston to New York because of a misunderstanding about where their pick up location was. When I called customer service, they said I'd have to pay for new tickets with cash, because we booked through Wanderu so they couldn't transfer them. Then when we arrived at the customer service desk they said "we don't accept cash anymore unless you have exact change." The only reason my travel partner and I booked with them in the first place was because of the affordable price, but because of their inflexible policies we ended up paying twice as much as the original cost (it was $30 for two of us through Wanderu, and then $28 for EACH of us to purchase new tickets). The later bus we went on was not even half full. So we ended up paying $86 total for a one-way trip, when they could so easily have just been nice and accommodating and let us ride on the later bus. It's not like it was a really crowded bus or anything like that, there were so many empty seats....Just felt like they were really taking advantage of us. Well, they won't be getting my money ever again. read more
