Should've read the reviews before coming here, but I didn't think any GNC would be different. Super slow Tuesday (didn't see anyone on the floor from the outside) and as I was opening the door, I saw a "No bags allowed" sign. Upon entering the store, it REEKED. I don't know if the A/C was broken but it smelled and was super stuffy. I was the only customer when an older man came out to greet me. I continued looking around the store and the man kept following and watching me! I felt his eyes on my back and mixed with the smell of the store as well as being the only customer, it was a very uncomfortable feeling. He would chime in with comments like "they're the same, just different flavors" when I clearly wanted to be left alone. I left without buying what I wanted since I was overall creeped out. I don't mind being approached by the staff but when they start to follow and watch you...that's different. He really thought I was going to steal? Go to another location. I saw a couple about to walk in after I left and I genuinely wish they were warned. read more

I've been coming here regularly for 3 years now. During the pandemic, the manager/ owner Salvador said I could not touch the items. He is & still is annoyingly intrusive. He needs extensive training in customer service. Yesterday I went to buy Mushroom complex 100 ct supplements & it was n/a. I asked the cashier to order online & have it shipped to my address but she was unable to & could not offer an explanation. I also had a coupon for $15 off a $50 purchase. I also had my anniversary $ rewards for $5. I was under the impression that i could use both offers. & that the rewards would be applied that moment. The cashier asks the manager if both offers can be applied (we are both under the impression that the rewards is a $5 off coupon) & Cathy the "manager" curty says "no" & then points out that the 3 items I have ready to purchase do not meet the $50 min for the $15 off coupon. *THIS WAS HER OPPORTUNITY TO EXPLAIN GNC'S REWARDS PROTOCOL* BUT SHE DID NOT. SHE JUST UNINVITEDLY OFFERED THE FACT THAT I DID NOT HAVE THE $50 MIN PURCHASE* btw, this was something that I was very much aware of. She said this in a rude tone. The cashier then trys to explain that the rewards will be inputted in my account & i can redeem 24 hours later. I do not understand the policy & am feeling frustrated & express this to the cashier . The manager is visible in the background & does not offer her assistance which is mindblowing, unprofessional, rude & not supporting staff or customers. it is clearly obvious there is a scene at the register & she is literally standing in the background not doing anything to intervene or support her employee, let alone a customer. This is exactly why I take my business to the Vitamin Shoppe where they have way better offers & coupons, let alone their customer service is nowhere near the lowness of this level. read more

One of the best GNC's I been to. They were out of the product I was looking for so they helped me find an even better alternative. Some of the kindest employees i've met so far! They didn't make me feel bad for asking so many questions and even through in a few scoop of preworkout to try! Came here a few times. The workers were nice to me and they seemed to know their stuff. As a newbie lifter/gym-goer, I was pleasantly surprised they did not try to up sell me anything or push for any one specific product. Great customer service and pretty knowledgeable. (Genuinely glad I did not get the treatment others that reviewed this area did). The only down side is that because I was a newbie, I wasn't sure if some of the prices were too high or good deals. I learned that one of the products I bought was significantly overpriced. I will do my research more thoroughly next time before coming back here. Product selection was limited as well. read more

The more I workout, or the older I get, vitamins and natural supplements becomes more important in addition to your diet. When will we ever become non-vitamim deficient? The answer is never! This particular GNC location is well stocked with daily supplements to meet your needs. They have power bars, vitamins, ginseng powder, protein supplements, etc. The guys who works there are cool. They'll try to help you to the best of their knowledge. Very courteous and professional which is a good thing. The prices for these supplements are competitive, but not the least expensive. I came in to return an online purchase n was told immediately before the manager even look at my packing slip that he can only credit me back with gift card. He gave me many excuses that he can't process the return, finally told me that this is a franchise store and need to goto a corporate store. This store does not accept online order returns. I could not understand a word from the guy over the phone. Super thick accent and wasn't nice at all when I called to ask if they accept online order returns. Corporate GNC gave me this location as a "corporate owned" store and said they would process my return, but that was clearly not the case. GNC website clearly states that online purchases may be returned at a retail store. I've come to learn after today that GNC stores like this one (and temple city store) don't follow policy and do whatever they want to increase revenue disregarding having any customer service and telling customers to return the item at a different store. I stopped by after my workout to pick up some more protein since I used the last of what I had. This is my first time shopping at a GNC, I typically purchase my supplements online, but I needed to re-up. Right off the bat, as soon as we stepped in the store was awkward. No other customers and the worker was just staring. Her name is April. I wanted to scope out what they offered before deciding if I wanted to make a purchase since the prices are pretty steep and her and the "middle eastern" guy everyone keeps talking about in other reviews were just watching the whole time. I felt the vibe they thought we were trying to steal something so I just tried to make it quick. I didn't like that before I even got to the register, April started ringing me up already and when I got to the actual counter, there was already a bottle of apple cider vinegar sitting there-- She made a snarky comment asking if I was buying that too. I told her no, that it was already on the counter and she looked at me like I was lying. Anyway, when the transaction was done she told us in a rude type of way to have a nice day. Like most GNC's prices aren't great but sometimes you can find decent deals on the clearance section. I do not know why, but the worker (asian guy), and manager/supervisor(I think [middle eastern-ish guy) were extremely rude and creepy. They were staring at us, and following us the whole time, but at a distance like we were going to rob them. Mind you I'm a 25 year old asian guy in workout gear, and my lady friend is a 25 year old asian girl who was dressed pretty well. I was debating if I should buy a box of the new protein cake bites as it was the same price on Amazon, but they only had one flavor that was fairly priced. The box was obviously already opened, but I wanted to check if there were any missing before I bought them. The manager, let's call him Bob, shouted out "Hey! You can't open that!", followed by "there are single one's here!" I was like not shit, I WAS THE ONE WHO just showed you they were there earlier when I was debating if I should just get a couple singles. But I'm usually pretty friendly to people who work in the customer service industry so I just said "I know, I'm checking to see if they are all there because the seal was broken". I did end up buying the box of birthday cake protein cake bites, but I really didn't want to because of that guy. P.S. They apparently don't accept manufacturer coupons for Enlightened marshmallow treats. I'm pretty sure that was a lie, and Bob was just being a jackass. Also, I'm pretty sure I dropped mine in the store after he told me I couldn't use it. I wouldn't be surprised if that shady little guy sent the coupon to the manufacturer to boost his sales too. The GNC I work near in DTLA is so much better. But this visit has left me with a sour taste for GNC. I'm probably just going to order my supps from Amazon, Bodybuilding, and MyProtein. read more

They have pretty good stock, but 3 times I've been there when they were supposed to be open, but they weren't. Once at night I arrived about 20 minutes before closing and they were closed. The last time I waited 25 minutes and no one came to open the store. I went to the one in Temple City instead. This is my go to GNC. Whenever I need something quick I stop by here. The staff is very helpful. The manager gave me a discount on bangs even when the promotion was over. The other negative reviews are about returns. If your going to buy something make sure you want that product. Per the return policy on the GNC website, you are able to return your online order at ANY GNC PHYSICAL RETAIL LOCATION. The manager made up some story about their system not being able to look up online orders for returns. Clearly, he didn't even know what he was trying to say and was just using plenty of words with zero meaning. I also called the Temple City location and they said they did not accept online order returns either. Avoid these two unprofessional locations.
