Very nice friendly service. You will be greeted as soon as you walk in. Which adds a nice touch, I don't recall another GNC as friendly as this one. This GNC is located on the border line of Gold Coast and River North. Not far from The Magnificent Mag Mile. I just wish that Streeterville had a location. Love cared inside a historic building. And it shares a tiny hallway (New York City feel and style) with Starbucks. This whole street is very Brooklyn Style even the basement. After all Chicago is also known as the Second City. It is quite small, but they do have pretty much about everything you need, if you do not find what you are looking for, they will take your info down and order it for fee of shipping. Can't beet that. I could just order online and pay the shipping, but since my wife and both enjoy the walk to this side of town, we prefer coming in and taking that stroll. read more

I love GNC and I always receive great customer service but I don't know what's going on at this place. It is dead. I entered and the man running it did not even say hi. It is quiet, no music. Nothing. He just watched me. GNC sent me a $10 coupon for my bday and I he rejected it b/c it did not have the lines code thing. I get it but it was a real coupon and he could have entered the # and validate it. No. Incredibly rude man. I left. He grumbled when I left without finishing the purchase b/c the way he treated me was so bad, why buying from them? GNC needs to check this location. I wish I looked at the reviews on this GNC store before going. The older guy that many other have mentioned in their reviews tried to ring up a product twice but I caught it before paying. I thought it was an honest mistake but after reading these reviews I see it's a trend. This was the dirtiest GNC I've ever been in and the guy working gave me very bad vibes. I have VERY mixed feelings about this place. In my head I keep thinking "on the ONE hand this...but on the OTHER hand that...BUT there was this....but also that..." Apparently, all GNC's are not corporately owned and so sometimes they can bend the rules. I went into a GNC 1 day after the "Gold Card" sale time was over and the location on Division wouldn't give me the Gold Card price. So called the one on Chicago Ave. which DID give me the gold card price. I asked the employee for his name so I could quote him in case of an issue when I got in there. He gave me his name but then said "but you can call me Lavender"......ooookkkkaaayyy..? I get in there and ask for the product I need. He says to me, "you shouldn't get that because it's bad for you." VERY odd for an employee who is about to make a sale....and they carry it in their store.....and I didn't recall asking his opinion. I then verify he is the employee who will honor the Gold Card discount a few days late and he says "only if you can remember my name".....I repeat his name and he pushes it by saying "what's my other name?" ....forcing me to repeat "Lavender." I received the deal. I left totally shaking my head...I was pleased I got the deal, grossed out that he was making me call him Lavender....and pissed off he gave me rude unsolicited advice about my purchase. The old Indian man ripped me off! I came in to buy two boxes of power crunch because I recall seeing a deal online. When I was at the store, I couldn't remember what the deal was so I asked him are the deals the same at this store at it is online and he said yes that it's 19.99 per box. When checking out he scanned one of the two boxes twice for a total of 3 times and I was going to question him but the total was correct for two boxes about 40 dollars and some change. I get home and check the deal online and it's buy two at 19.99 and get one box free! This means that's why he scanned one of the boxes twice to show on the receipt that I got my free box when I really only got 2. He never told me that it was buy 2 get one free and since he scanned one of the boxes twice it shows in the receipt that I received 3 boxes! Untrue!!! I go as far as challenging it, the security camera can easily show how many boxes I had in my had at the counter and how many boxes I left with! This is fraudulent! read more

Methinks not is absolutely right. This place is the absolute worst GNC I have ever dealt with. For one, because they are apparently not a corporate store but a franchise, they are able to tap dance around the system and do their own things which are not beneficial at all to the clients. They never list the sale prices correctly, and you have to call them out on it, often times making me feel like I am haggling at a flea market rather than in a major international store. They try to take advantage of people who do not know that these products go on sale just about every other week and try to get people to naively pay full price, I guess because everyone in the Gold Coast is so rich (?) They also do not honor the online prices at all, this is one of the only stores that doesn't do so. I am purposely going to go out of my way to avoid this particular location from now on. read more

I would have to rate my experience with Steve, the sales associate, at this location to be one of the most helpful and knowledgeable interactions with a GNC or any vitamin/supplement store rep that I've ever had. Steve was very knowledgeable about vegan supplements, muscle production, and athletic performance plans. He talked me down into purchasing a high end product knowing that my body would need to work itself up to a certain level of performance. Not only that, but as a queer athlete, Steve was very inclusive of his use of pronouns and was not condescending to the women in the store as I've observed other GNC or fitness trainers to be. read more

Another GNC, fairly similar to the rest, being a pretty consistent franchise. Nice location in a strip of retail chains just west of Michigan Ave in what seems to be a historic old interesting apartment building. I was motivated to come to this one by the Groupon GNC deal, which was apparently confusing since although several stores were listed i did not show up on the printed list. Worst GNC ever! The older Indian man who runs the location is a rip off artist. He will try and charge you more for a product. Check your receipt carefully. He will try and distract you and talk about how he is helping you but then he will over charge you. Pay attention to the signs as far as pricing and then see what he rings up as the price. He did this to me 3 times. Every time making excuses. If you do go to this location make sure you check the receipt before you leave. read more

My main complaint with the GNC location is opening the store promptly, as the store hours are displayed. I arrived at this location on several occasions and the store was not yet open or it was during business hours and the store was closed for a period of time because the salesman was out getting lunch. My most recent inconvenience with this location was arriving on a Sat. morning at 9:55am, opening hour for this day is 10am, the store was dark no one inside preparing to open the door promptly at 10am, 9:58am the salesman comes out of Starbucks with a tray of coffee, I ask if the store will be open at 10am, he explained that he needs to disarm the alarm system, set up the cash register etc...He told me the store would be open in 20min. I was not happy with that response as I was on my way to work, I said to him "That's very inconvenient as the store is scheduled to open at 10am, NOT 10:20AM. He just continued to balance his tray of coffee and try and find the key hole on the door. read more
