We were excited to try this new-ish place in our neighborhood. Went there for brunch on a Sunday. Got some coffee drinks, potatoes, and breakfast sandwiches. I'm sorry to have to say this was one of the worst restaurants I've been to in a long time. My drink wasn't made properly (the menu said it had a sweet creamy whipped topping but what I got was some unsweetened coffee foam). But thankfully when I asked for something else they were gracious and did so. The sandwiches were so bad I literally spit out my first bite of my turkey sausage egg and cheese sandwich and threw the rest away. The menu showed turkey sausage patty in the sandwich but mine had a few sliced up pieces of breakfast sausage links, the english muffin was very greasy, and the egg and spinach were covered in grease. My partner ordered the turkey croissant sandwich and the turkey was dried out/crunchy in some parts and parts of the croissant were burnt. The potatoes were very bland and some of them tasted sour. I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and it was out of soap (it was before noon by the way), the hand dryer was broken (there was literally a part of it hanging out the bottom and the part was very dirty/old looking, there were splatters in the toilet, and there were food bits all in the sink as if someone had eaten then rinsed out their mouth in the sink. I'm so annoyed that I spend almost $50 for myself and my partner and we basically had to throw everything out. If I could've asked for a full refund of my entire order I would have. read more

I've tried the Green Detox and Island Breeze, both were yummy! I really love that they incorporate sea moss into their smoothies-- makes them feel more the healthier and extra nourishing. This place is a little weird in that it's combined with an Around the World Coffee. There are two "sections" to order each with their own kiosk but you can order either restaurant at either kiosk. The inside is a little messy already. There are peeling stickers on the tables, power strips haphazardly hanging from the light up signs in the windows... things like that. I ordered an açaí bowl and it came out spicy. Turns out they accidentally put the chipotle sauce on top instead of almond butter. They made me a new one for free but it was strange. Thankfully I was dining in so it wasn't a big deal to wait for a new one. The Power Bowl (when made correctly) is very mediocre and watery. I likely won't order it again. read more

As soon as I stepped into the new location, "Upgrade U" popped into my head--it's such a major upgrade from the South Loop location! This River North spot is definitely going to thrive. I didn't even remember this place existed until it was mentioned during my workout class because they have a partnership with the gym, offering members free ginger or immunity shots. I thought that was a great marketing tactic, especially since I had forgotten they moved. This location not only offers smoothies but also has a café attached with way more seating. It's like three spots in one--around-the-world coffee, a sandwich and pizza shop, and the smoothie bar. The digital ordering still throws me off, but with help from the staff, I figured it out. I got a breakfast sandwich where they substituted vegan sausage for me, so I had a vegan option with egg, spinach, and a unique aioli. I also grabbed a protein coffee smoothie. I really wish I had experienced this when it was in the South Loop, and I hope they expand back there because the Southside deserves this too! read more

Pretty sure they've combined or collaborated with Around the world coffee. There's plenty of seating in here which is nice if you're looking for somewhere to chill and do some work. However, do not get their matcha. It is awful to say the least. I'm not the type to ask cafes/restaurants to remake drinks/dishes but I did bring this back to the barista to confirm that this was a matcha latte. There was no matcha flavor and she offered to add more matcha. It all sank down to the bottom of the drink instantly. Would recommend trying a different beverage if you're here! read more

I've loved this place until i was lied to. I was there earlier this week , and initiated my order, but the system was delayed so i was instructed to use a different pay kiosk in the store which went through immediately. Shortly after, the order i made on the first delayed one went through as well causing me to be double charged. I was told by a young Indian lady that a refund was initiated by the manager before i left which was clearly not true because both payments have posted to my account. i ordered from this restaurant on ubereats.. the store called me through the courier to let me know that they were out of vegan cheese to make the vegan alfredo.. i substituted it for a vegan breakfast sandwich but never received a refund for the difference.. the clerk said she would take care of it and never did.. i called a week later and was informed that the owner would take care of it and they never did.. the sandwich was subpar and the potatoes were cold and lacking in flavor. i will never visit this location or order from them again.. no integrity or follow through. waste of money. read more

Such a bummer! I was so disappointed by my visit. It was strange to have employees behind the counter but order on an interface, super weird decision. No menu board either.. And of course, they ask if you'd like to tip. Tip who? We got our smoothies infused, and we were not ID'd.. which seems to be normal here based on other reviews. Bit concerning, my partner and I are both in our early 20s. It was so expensive to get them infused. If you're looking for an infused drink, walk 6 blocks to Wake n Bakery where they don't take you for a ride. Literally like a quarter of the price. It also put me out, and I'm an experienced user. Based off other reviews it seems like their smoothies fare on the stronger side.. which probably shouldn't be happening with something like THC. I happen to come across this place when I was visiting a spa next door. This place offers non-GMO, organic, no added sugar, and preservative free smoothies, juices, and bowls. I purchased the kids Acai bowl and Dr. Citrus to go. Fyi, there portions are huge! For me the kids bowl was more than enough. The Dr. Citrus was surprisingly good. I will definitely be back to try some more cold pressed juices. The only drawback they do not offer caloric or nutritional information fr ay of their food items. read more

Went here for the first time for lunch. I got the Island Breeze smoothie and it was amazing - 10 out of 10. I also got an immunity shot for the road. The Immunity Shot was good but just a little spicy. We also ordered the Smokers Lung with ashwagandha and Delta-8. It was not good! Definitely wouldn't order with additives again. My friends and I came here on Sunday and had a horrible and traumatic experience. We spent over $100 on smoothies, 3/4 we added THC to. There are 4 levels of THC, I added the lowest (described as "a little buzz") and they added an extra 5mg. Both of these levels were advertised as having very mild effects. A little over an hour later, the smoothie started to kick in as a very intense high for everyone, even though we hadn't finished the drinks. Suddenly we all entered a terrifying trip, experiencing extreme anxiety, panic, increased heart rate, high blood pressure, hallucinations, severe headaches, and it left us immobile, almost like sleep paralysis. All of us have previously ingested THC from flower, edibles, tinctures, oils, etc. None of us have ever experienced a high like this before. Along with advertising this experience as "a little buzz", Smoothie RX did not ID anyone purchasing products with THC. We have found a few reviews with similar stories, and Smoothie RX has responded saying they will look into this. Clearly they haven't. I had the twisted mango smoothie. The only thing twisted about it was the $15 price tag. Honestly, the peach did not seem ripe, and the overall flavor was heavily watered down. I expected at least a little hint of sweetness due to the ingredients of honey and vanilla, but my taste buds did not delight in anything! Furthermore, the customer service was lacking. Attempted to call ahead of time today to order the chocolate covered strawberry oatmeal bowl because they said it takes 30 MINUTES for them to make.
