There are signs laying out their guidelines for keeping 6 feet apart while in the store (admittedly very challenging because the aisles are rather cramped) but they do limit how many people are inside at once. We noticed it wasn't too far from our Brooklyn neighborhood so we headed over on a Saturday afternoon. The shop was dimly lit with natural light beaming through the front window. The smell was herbaceous and woody, but not as pungent as classic botanicas that can overwhelm you with scents of patchouli and incense. We were greeted by Sid and Ziggy, both of whom were laid-back but ready to help at any time. They also gave the shop some down-to-earth vibes which is great when you're a bit more pragmatic like me. We explained to them the one to eight problems we each had and they directed us to teas, herbs, tinctures, and even smokable blends (not my scene but helpful). It was heaven! I left with the Sinus Formula Tea and Golden Tonic. The tea is smooth, round, & tasty, and has been keeping my sinus headaches at bay. I haven't used the tonic as much but every time I add it to my water, my body goes into flush-mode which is great for my body aches and overall gut health. It's a little hard to miss, however you can see it once you've entered the shopping center. Family owned and operated since 1987. Think of Whole Foods, much less busy, not a whole lot of rushing (which is a good thing) and you take your time to browse around the smaller store. The quiet and calm was cool, for a Thursday evening, not too shabby. We came across a lot of products we haven't seen before. Great options from a vast majority of gluten free to bring your own containers for pasta to help reduce waste. Plenty of signs to look at and read what we can do to be proactive with our bodies, lifestyle and the environment. I loved knowing this was a smaller scale.
