Started it up, it sounds great. He made it sound so simple, how i would go about getting it registered and getting lisence plates n all, just so quick n easy! So i take it down to where he said to take it - it doesnt pass smog. Why? (Heres the kicker:) -ITS MISSING THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER!!! ITS BEEN "STRAIGHT-PIPED"!! (Which explains why it runs so quietly.. and also why i never even thought to check!) So smog guy puts "TAMPERED" on my smog paper! So now no ones gonna help me pay for a brand new one, and according to this smog guy, its gonna cost me $4000-$8000!!!!!!! To replace it! - n thats the only way!! I only paid $1,500 for the shit! + $500 to register it. Dmv says i can have my plates soon as it passes smog! Ill NEVER be able to afford that! I cant even afford $400! -let alone $4000!!! Im so totally screwed! Idek what to do! But it says here on their paperwork they gave me, that if i dont fix whatever needs to be fixed n get it to pass smog - the tow company can even take away any other cars that i may own or drive as well as this one!!! AAA uses this company for car battery problems. They sold me a defective battery that went bad…read moreafter a few months. The battery was not holding a full charge and was slow to crank. Had the battery tested at O'Reilly and AutoZone, and it failed. Had this company come out twice, but refused to test the battery before first connecting to a battery booster. Per this company, the battery is good, but they refused to test it without first boosting it. If, after being informed, the battery is failing and boosting fixes the problem temporarily, this company should have a better process for testing a defective battery they recently sold, rather than ignoring the original concern. Very disappointed, disappointed with AAA for using this subpar company.

I needed a tow and was quoted 250 to take it home. The driver said he could take it to their lot for free & my insurance company would cover it. Turns out my insurance company wouldn't cover it. Went down the very next day to pick up my car. Informed me they're a CHP impound yard (never heard of this before) and charged me 500 dollars & a 65 dollar storage fee. On top of this they got another 175 out of me to tow my car home. Over 700 bucks when my car only needed to be towed about 1 mile to my house. While I was paying them, they said I should just leave it with them and they'll junk it for me. Said they wouldn't make any money on it though. Also tried to tell me my car would be towed if I park it in the street. Surprise surprise. It wasn't towed or ticketed, and it ran fine. Just needed a new tire and to remove the bumper. Sold it a week later for a lot more than free! If AAA does dispatch this company, verify every single thing they say. They made a stressful situation even worse.
