Ella cut my hair last week, and she did an amazing job! My hair was down to the middle of my back and I got a cut just above my shoulders. I am usually in shock and really sad after getting that much cut off, but this cut was so awesome I didn't even miss my long hair! I showed her a few pictures and she pin pointed what I liked about each style. Anxiously I went to my appt. not knowing how it would go since I've been seeing another hair stylist 45 minutes away for over 10 years. I had nothing to worry about. Woohoo is right! I left wanting to tell all my friends about the great new salon I discovered. I love my hair color. The organic products I had smelt so good! My hair can be sensitive to treatments, and it is in better shape now then it was before I went in. Ella is great, She treated me to a complimentary spa pedicure while my highlights were processing! She offered me refreshments, and was very fun to visit with. The art gallery is a nice touch too, it supports our communities artists while providing a hip atmosphere. After several disappointing results with my previous salon, I decided to get brave and try a new salon. I read the Yelp reviews about GLOSS and had seen the salon near my office. I made an appointment with Danielle and when I sat down, she immediately took a consultative approach. She asked me if I had pictures of myself with the hair color I wanted to achive, gave me recommendations based on my skin tone, asked me about my past color experiences, etc. And when she was done, the color was exactly what I wanted, and more. Don't go here. I bought a Groupon deal and tried to use it in May... Wow, they put up a fight! To top it off, I purchased the upgraded deal for wash, cut & full highlights. The girl reluctantly cut my hair ONLY. She could not be bothered the entire time, as she had a friend sitting there chatting it up. I know people have bad days, but she was having a great day, just not with her client, or seemingly, even her profession. I was very excited and upbeat, as my husband had been deployed for 6 months while I gave birth to our first child and this was literally, my first time getting out and doing something for myself-- it kind of ruined my day!... Her response to this "Well, you shouldn't have married a man in the military." The reason I am writing this review NOW instead of in May is because that experience was so poor and I was SO upset at their rudeness on top of not honoring my Groupon, I wanted to allow myself time to get over it. 7 months later, I still feel that I would never have bought that groupon if all these HONEST reviews had been up at that time. You can tell the owner has ZERO self respect by coming on here and attacking everyone who leaves an HONEST review. She needs to be FIXING the problems and letting her customers voice their opinion... considering it is their money and therefore their right to review business and let others know how they were treated. They also have some communication/booking problems. I had to call 3 different numbers and the first attempts were never returned. I called 10 days later and again had to call multiple numbers, before finally reaching someone that was able to just write me down in the book-- not even tell me who I would be seeing that day. Ella, if your business is down, I suggest DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT and appreciating the fact that you have customers that are telling you what the issues are. 20 years ago, you would be closed for lack of business, and have no idea why. But here, you have half the work done for you. Don't attack customers or honest reviews-- it doesn't help you at all. read more

Went to Gloss Salon because I found a coupon online. I chose Ella because she had great reviews on yelp. It was a hassle to schedule the appointment. The number listed was Ella's cell phone, which she never answered. I even drove by the salon once during business hours to schedule, but it was closed. I left a message saying I wanted to schedule an appointment. She called back the next day and i missed the call. When I called back she didn't answer so i finally broke down and scheduled via about 15 text messages back and forth. she responded to my text within a minute of missing my call. She did a color and a cut and I was pretty disappointed. She was nice, but she was fast and sloppy in my opinion. I also thought she was uncreative and overly conservative (boring) with her work. The finished product definitely was not salon quality and i ended up having to touch up some areas myself at home which was the main thing I was hoping to avoid. I won't go back. read more

I just finished my second visit with Ella to get my hair done. My first visit was a living social deal and I loved my hair! I have been a living social addict looking for the right salon to stick with since my stylist moved away. My last visit I went from long to medium-short and I was hesitant as to what I really wanted. I just knew I was ready for a change. Something fun, sexy and fit me and my face. Ella made me feel so comfortable, she was supportive, listened great and didn't take too much too fast. I left very happy and then I went back again tonight to get it done again. Today we cut the same style as last time and did some highlights and lowlights and all over color. I couldn't be happier. She did a wonderful job of fitting me in on a short notice and she is so friendly and skilled. The salon is clean, classy and modern. I felt very comfortable and it was a really nice experience (great conversation) as well as I left tonight again with a great cut and color. I felt like she really spent the time with me regardless of it being late in the evening on a Friday night and made me feel like a friend. The price was great too. I have found my "Hair Home" and I will definitively be back. read more
