Came in today 3/7 for French tip with a flower design, everything was going well until we got to the flower design part. She starts painting it and does it probably 20 times in between I could tell she's getting irritated throwing her brushes down and grabbing my hands rough. I didn't want to make her struggle so I asked her could you please just do the rest French tip she ignores me and continues. I tell her again please just do French tip and she's like okay fine and gets mad again. I get that designs are hard to do but if you can't do it let me know before hand or get another nail tech to help you. She started huffing and signing after clearly irritated about the design I wanted. This was extremely disappointing because I came here for nails for my birthday, I wanted them to be extra yes but I came here because they advertise them selves as a nail salon that can handle designs. Now I just have plain French tip that was 75$ and a rude nail tech I expected better for the price I paid here I came here out of my way and left disappointed before I go to my birthday trip. read more

Please be very very careful, my toenail has fungus now and this was the only place I came for pedicures monthly for years, and I'm always careful to not touch other places without shoes on. Also, do not let them put gel x on your broken toe nails, please you will regret it. I'm so depressed now and embarrassed and there's nothing I can really do. It all started off so well. I switched to Gloss from another local salon. There were some things I didn't really enjoy (I found the techs to be pretty brusque and not friendly, and I'm not really a yapper so that's saying something), but felt the speed of service + the variety of tons of polishes and chromes, etc. was worth it. I came to them with gel over my natural nails and continued getting the same service at Gloss. I get my nails done every 2-3 weeks which is well within the standard for gel overlays. At my appointment just before Labor Day, the tech told me that I would need to get a full set instead of a fill the next time. That was interesting since that was never the case at my old salon but I went with it assuming that meant that too much of the gel overlay had been filed down and it needed more to replace. I got my nails done last on September 18 (my next appointment, so a full set was paid for) before going out of town for a wedding and then a professional event. I was already irritated in part because the polish used for the gel pedicure I got just before Labor Day weekend cracked on 2 toes and required another pedicure. I've never had a pedicure last such a short period of time! And to top it off, the woman who did my pedicure at Labor Day dug so hard into my toes that two of them bled when I was there and one was sore for several days afterward. That said, the person who did my pedicure on 9/18 did a good job and no complaints there. My gel overlay "full set" was another story. By September 21--three days later--I had a crack in two nails. One was discovered because it was snagging in my hair. The other was sore but I didn't see the crack for another few days, until September 25. I was out of town until late on 9/25 so didn't have the opportunity to come in sooner. But I went into Gloss on September 27 to have Gel X put onto those cracked/broken nails to blend them with the rest of my hand since, due to constant snagging, I had to cut them down in near entirety with nail clippers. Remarkably I was charged for this repair. Now granted, I do think their time is worth something but I've never been charged when there are clearly issues with the initial service. It's now September 30 and there is yet another nail with a crack. You'd think I dig trenches with my bare hands for a living, but nope--just a normal, boring desk jockey whose most strenuous use of nails is typing. My nails are extremely thin. So now I'm left to wonder, why did I pay for a full gel overlay set a few weeks ago if my nails are so thin that they're cracking from ordinary use? A 30% failure rate in under 2 weeks is unacceptable. And each of the cracks is occurring at or below the quick of my nails which further indicates a structural issue with the gel overlay. Time to find yet another nail salon. read more

Hello today I walked in and asked if they had time to see me for a basic pedicure with a callous treatment as an add on. I was sat within 15 mins and serviced. I appreciate that they were able to take me in as they seemed very busy and every chair seemed to be filled at the time. Overall I have been here a handful of times and have enjoyed my experience each time. A little over a month ago I came in for a deluxe pedicure and also got my eyebrows done which was a nice experience as well as I am very picky about my brows... who isn't? read more

If there was a way to give a negative score I would. I called and asked if they had time for 6 people and the girl that answered said yes come on in. When we arrived shortly thereafter, we weren't exactly pleased with the greeting and overwhelmed by how many people were already in there. That should've been my cue. This place is simple a chop shop with pseudo nail techs that are only interested in you upgrading to their most expensive service. Once you say you just want the basic you are automatically rushed and not taken care of. It was my daughter's birthday and the receptionist or whatever her title spilled a whole glass of champagne on her. I personally ended with only clear on my nails and feet because they were not doing a good job with the polish and were talking under their breath to one another. The place appears relatively decent but far too much movement, it's loud and you just can't relax. I hated it and I would like my money back. It definitely started the birthday celebration off wrong. This place is trash and I would never recommend anyone to go there. And this is from a 20 year veteran nail tech. These type of places do not deserve to be in a place as nice as Pasadena. I'm not a complainer and I certainly don't like Yelp to be considered the final word but this time I am more than pissed to have spent as much money as I did and not even find a small glimmer of nice. Gloss Nail Spa is great! We called the morning of and we're able to get an appointment for three people on a Saturday. We were seated right away. Everyone working there is super friendly. They have a huge variety of colors to chose from and the aesthetic of the store is woodsy spa-like. I got a pedicure and the soak chair was so relaxing. My personal experience with Gloss, was a pleasant visit, but horrible outcome a month later. My toenails had turned brown and separated from the skin underneath ONLY where the hard gel was placed. I had to have another salon remove the gel and figure out what was going on. It is now 3 months later and I am still dealing with the aftermath of having to grow my toenails out from a very short nub or new growth connected to my nail bed. read more

This would have been my first time at Gloss Nail. I made my appointment 2 weeks ahead of time and arrived on time. I was waiting for 20 minutes and left. When you make an appointment at a certain time you expect it to start at that time. I had other commitments throughout the day so I could not compromise waiting any longer. Disappointed because I was excited to try their services. I hope they learn to not overfill their chairs, especially when they are anticipating appointments. The team here is incapable of keeping your appointment time. I make an appointment ahead of time and every time they are at least 30 mins late, which they try to make up by rushing the time they spend on you. On a Friday afternoon, I was able to be seen for a walk in pedicure even though it was busy! We waited about 20 minutes which is not bad! One star. When I was seated for a pedicure, the worker was kind and made sure the water was warm. I wasn't able to sit with my friend since they placed us across from one another. second star. Bad side - she didn't use a clean cuticle trimmer. She just grabbed it from her tool kit. I didn't realize until I looked up from my phone!!! And she dug deep which causes ingrown toe nails. She used the cuticle trimmer to also trim the side of my nails. I would pull my foot back and tell her it hurts but there wasnt any adjustment. A week later I have 3 ingrown toe nails and 1 is leaking pus. Fair to say I will not be returning. read more

Came first thing to get in and there was already a line and some with appointments, but they had us in a chair pretty quickly. I got a regular manicure, it was fine but it chipped two days later and as I had a meeting had to get it redone and the manicurist at the other place said my cuticles were abundant and not evident of having been manicured. The salon is big and bright with many colors. The manicurists are nice. Not the cheapest or best quality so not sure if I will be returning with so many other options in town. read more

Sad to leave a bad review but this was really disappointing -- especially since we were regulars here. My pedicure felt rushed and rough, and instead of being relaxing, it was uncomfortable. The tech skipped parts of the service I had paid for, which made me feel like corners were being cut. On top of that, the polish color I requested wasn't what I ended up with, and when I pointed it out, the response was dismissive.
