You can tell they really love their jobs and working with pets! I booked my first grooming appointment with my dog (Chow Chow) yesterday and it couldn't have gone better. I was scared that my dog would give them a hard time because PetSmart will no longer groom him because of his "behaviour". So right before my appointment at PetValu, I gave the groomer a heads up that my dog might growl/bark because that's what I was told from PetSmart. I bought a bag of treats for her to give him throughout the grooming appointment to calm him down just in case. When I came to pick him up 3 hours later, she had nothing but good things to say! He didn't bark or growl at all, and didn't need to be muzzled. She only gave him treats at the end because he was well behaved throughout the whole appointment. I guess all his previous bad behaviour just came because he didn't have a gentle groomer? Either way, I have found my new groomer at PetValu!! (The price is much more affordable too!). Definitely recommend coming to this store. They also host a lot of events throughout the year, and have kittens/cats up for adoption.

They are trying to sell/ promote there dog food which is $50+ for a 6lb bag which not everyone can afford and when hearing how she wanted me to talk to customer made me feel morally and ethically wrong. When I didnt comply with being okay with telling customers that exact wording she terminated me the next day. She also added in my customer service aspect even though she told the manager how impressed she was with me dealing with customers.

You many have to dig around a bit in the freezer if you're looking for chicken neck or feet -- they're often somewhere toward the bottom. They are also generous when having sampling events. Cats don't often accompany owners, so when I expressed that my cat would love to try out some goat milk cream with bacon (think it was being marketed for dogs), they were more than happy to pack up a small portion for my cat to try at home. Usually there is an adorable kitty that hangs out by the front (store cat?) so that's always a plus.

We continue to come back every couple of months for all of our snake supplies, including feeder mice & live plants. Staff are VERY busy, but it is worth the wait as they have been able to answer all our questions & offer great advice. Their shining moment, in my book, was when a snake I had recently bought from them, and was bringing in to discuss, managed to escape its box during the drive to the store, and hid in my car's ventilation system. Two staff helped solve getting it out, then looked after it until they were sure it had recovered. It was a scary and embarrassing episode for me -- and of course stressful for the snake -- but they handled it all very professionally. Thanks Tails and Scales crew. We'll see you soon. Since I was paying $14 for shipping and handling, I added a few low-priced, light-weight items to the order. Much to my surprise, I received a box containing the light-weight items but the bottles of ear cleaner that I really needed weren't there. There was no mention anywhere of there being a backorder so I tried to check for information online. There was no way to check the order status since I hadn't opened an account. I called and left a detailed message asking about the missing items and shortly after that I received an email from someone named Amanda saying the following: "they were on back order and since the back order total was under $20.00 they were cancelled" I replied to Amanda with the following: "I really appreciate the quick reply but I don't understand. Why would you cancel part of the order without even advising me instead of just waiting and shipping everything I ordered together? If I place another order for the ear cleaner now, your website will charge me shipping again and that's not fair. Please either ship me the two bottles of ear cleaner that I ordered or credit me the full price of the shipping and handling and I will place the order again." Amanda immediately replied with the following: "Now in the e-mails we send for the confirmation of your order we do mention towards the bottom that any backordered items that are under $20.00 they cancelled and you are not charged for them. I do apologize but since they have been cancelled as mentioned we can't ship them out." It's a really bad business practice to charge someone $14 for the shipment of four light items and two heavy ones and then simply choose not to deliver the two heavier items, without even so much as notifying the client! I replied to Amanda pointing out that Ren's Pets could've made this right and gained a loyal customer for life. Instead they kept my $14 and hid behind the small print at the bottom of on an order confirmation...which is obviously emailed to the customer AFTER the order was confirmed. There is no shortage of online stores that actually fulfill their orders properly. Save your money and spend it on a company that delivers ALL of the products you ordered.
