We also talked about their investment managing services. It all sounded great and I had every intention of having them manage my investments. He said he would put together options for the Roth conversion and we made an appointment to get back together 12/18, a week later. A couple of days later I got a call from his office and they told me he got the flu and might not be able to make that appointment. They would let me know. I called them the morning of the 18th and the receptionist told me he couldn't make the appointment and that he asked if we could reschedule after the first of the year. I reminded her that I had to make the Roth decision by 12/31 so after the first of the year would do me no good. She said someone would call me. Shortly thereafter I got a call from Geoff of his office and he said that he would get with Shawn and would call me back in 2 days with options. I never got a call so I had to just wing the Roth conversion. I didn't hear from them at all until today, 1/5/24. Needless to say I told them I wouldn't be doing business with them. If I can't trust them to remember my situation, my priority, and their commitments to call me, how could I trust them to manage my investments?

When I retired, I had money in an old 401(k), an IRA, and a pension, and no real idea how they fit together. Jeff sat down with me and walked through how our Social Security, pension, and required withdrawals would affect our taxes year by year. He was straight with us, including telling us we didn't need to make some changes we were expecting him to push. He also coordinated with our CPA, which saved me a lot of back and forth. Every question gets answered in plain English, and he never makes you feel rushed or talked down to. If you're retired or getting close, I'd recommend at least having a conversation with him.

This is Bill Allen and I think Boudreau Consulting is awesome! I have been going to them for years…read more I never thought about doing a Google and Yelp review on my account before and thought I really should do that because of their amazing customer service! You usually think of accounts as all business like but they are some of the nicest people you can ever meet. Kevin, who does my taxes, actually communicates with me by phone or email and would meet with me if I wanted to. I love at the end when my taxes are done, he sends me a video and explains every single page of my taxes. Also, during the process when I have questions, I can talk to Michelle, and she is one of the nicest people you could ever meet as well! Everyone there is nice to work with. In 2025 I had a problem with something I needed to do online for my 2024 taxes, where I had an option of two different websites I could use. A nice person who answered the phone told me the two places and then after I hung up, before I could even try either one of them, during the busy time of season mind you, this was in April, she went to the first website and tried it, found that it wasn't user friendly, then went to the second one, and found that it was user friendly. She then called me back and told me which one to use. Then she told me a few steps to take to make it easier for me. Whenever you call in, they will take care of you right then, or if they don't know the answer, they will check it out and get back with you immediately! Their prices are very reasonable as well. I am actually a very small client, I am sure, yet they treat me like I am important to them! They are amazing, I feel like they actually treat me like family! I love this place and everyone there and will never go anywhere else for my taxes! I know I sound like one of their dads, but I don't think I'm related to anyone there, as far as I know. I truly just think they are the best! I can highly recommend them to you. With MUCH appreciation, Wilford (Bill) Allen

And we are actually moving toward our long-term goals for retirement because he is helping us take action now. He really knows what he's doing! We have been meeting with Spencer at least every 6 weeks for the past 6 months. We live in IL, so our meetings are online. We have an old computer and Spencer searched for a program that was compatible with our computer, so that we would have the convenience of frequent, online meetings. He sends us the meeting notes immediately following the meeting, highlighting the "to do" list for us and the things he will do before our next meeting. He coordinates with an accountant and an attorney. We have our own attorney, so we haven't used that service, but we were thrilled to use his accountant, Dustyn Johnson. You have to participate in the success of your visits. I gathered all the financial information he needed to access my current financial picture as I prepare for retirement in 5 or so years. Matt researched and emailed me a website to apply for student loan forgiveness in 10 years. This proactive behavior really impressed me. I filled out the paperwork and submitted it to the government entity for consideration. I thought about doing this 100 times, Matthew's nudge is what got me into action. He also contacted previous employers to verify I didn't have any 401K money, or stock, that I wasn't aware of, again, proactive behavior. He's not lazy. I see him again this Wednesday and we'll review my monthly spending to get me thinking about a budget. Can't wait. Very professional office environment, centrally located.
