As a result, I saw no growth the entire time I was with Trajan and even lost significant funds. During my introductory call, Judah said my accounts could be with Schwab but then upon signing the account opening documents, he said he that Trajan is no longer partnering with Schwab and only gave me one other option. Then when having banking issues, he said I could choose to move to Schwab, something he initially told me was not an option. Additionally, none of the associates at Trajan could figure out how to add beneficiaries to my accounts, something you'd think was simple and routine. I had to call the bank (not Schwab) myself and they were able to do so. Trajan and the bank were also not able to set my accounts to receive e-statements and email alerts for e-statements, nor could they stop paper statements - another thing that should be standard and routine. When trying to get my last tax forms, I called Trajan's main office and spoke with a representative who was very nice and sent me the forms right away (since the bank's website, not shockingly, was not working). Unfortunately, their financial advisors are not properly trained, their website is terrible and the banks they partner with are equally frustrating. Due to the poor management, financial advisor issues and considerable banking problems, I chose to move my accounts elsewhere and now couldn't be happier. When in the process of moving my accounts, I received an extremely obnoxious call from an associate at Trajan named Ruben. There are many great investment companies and financial advisory firms out there, Trajan, though, it not one of them and I would not recommend using their services.

Through her company there's access to other financial tools to help anyone out to get their financial life's not only on track, but ahead of the curve. We recommend her highly if you're looking for someone who won't blow smoke up your (you know what) and will provide solid advice on which you can actually bank! She just opened a larger office and now employs a few advisors who are just as personable and willing to help as Shanna is.

However, knowing there are folks out there who aren't very comfortable/familiar with investing/planning for retirement I wanted to provide my honest opinion about Heritage Financial Strategies. I was looking for a new financial advisor after the previous one, that I actually had a good 3-year run with, decided to put more effort into researching tools of the trade than helping his clients and their retirement goals. My mother and I met with Shanna and decided to give her a try (she was to manage my mom's retirement accounts). In the first few months she seemed to be doing ok, even though the lines of communication weren't the greatest with her. BUT, to be fair, her assistant, Emily, was always fantastic to deal with. Then she went dark, and after some not so nice emails from my mom, she told us if we want to schedule reviews with her that we need to go online and schedule through a link she provided. Now, that information would have been wonderful to know at the start rather than being treated like we were junk on the side of the road. Also, I had to do some pushing to get recommendations on whether or not some stock should be sold and what she had in mind for purchase. Not exactly the way this "financial advisor" thing is supposed to work. I just want folks who are not familiar with investing/markets/planning for retirement to perhaps think about going somewhere else lest you deal with 0% return over the course of a year.
