Since she passed, however, East Valley Fiduciary services has served as mom's Trustee and done a fine job. Their staff has been communicative, courteous, prompt and professional in every way, and I trust Mike Bogle to help us wrap up her estate and close this chapter in our lives. In short, EVFS is a very good fiduciary. I've served as executor twice now, and appreciate the challenges that must come with the duties of a professional fiduciary. Family discord, client incapacity and heightened emotions are woven into the aging/caregiving/hospice and executor experience - at a time when all decisions are inherently financial. EVFS services include preventing pitfalls and helping families manage finances as they prepare for end of life. I recommend Mike Bogle and East Valley Fiduciary Services while making estate plans and to families out of state who need help managing the care/loss of a loved one. I was looking for a new financial advisor after the previous one, that I actually had a good 3-year run with, decided to put more effort into researching tools of the trade than helping his clients and their retirement goals. My mother and I met with Shanna and decided to give her a try (she was to manage my mom's retirement accounts). In the first few months she seemed to be doing ok, even though the lines of communication weren't the greatest with her. BUT, to be fair, her assistant, Emily, was always fantastic to deal with. Then she went dark, and after some not so nice emails from my mom, she told us if we want to schedule reviews with her that we need to go online and schedule through a link she provided. Now, that information would have been wonderful to know at the start rather than being treated like we were junk on the side of the road. Also, I had to do some pushing to get recommendations on whether or not some stock should be sold and what she had in mind for purchase. Not exactly the way this "financial advisor" thing is supposed to work. I just want folks who are not familiar with investing/markets/planning for retirement to perhaps think about going somewhere else lest you deal with 0% return over the course of a year.

We also talked about their investment managing services. It all sounded great and I had every intention of having them manage my investments. He said he would put together options for the Roth conversion and we made an appointment to get back together 12/18, a week later. A couple of days later I got a call from his office and they told me he got the flu and might not be able to make that appointment. They would let me know. I called them the morning of the 18th and the receptionist told me he couldn't make the appointment and that he asked if we could reschedule after the first of the year. I reminded her that I had to make the Roth decision by 12/31 so after the first of the year would do me no good. She said someone would call me. Shortly thereafter I got a call from Geoff of his office and he said that he would get with Shawn and would call me back in 2 days with options. I never got a call so I had to just wing the Roth conversion. I didn't hear from them at all until today, 1/5/24. Needless to say I told them I wouldn't be doing business with them. If I can't trust them to remember my situation, my priority, and their commitments to call me, how could I trust them to manage my investments?
