While JJ wasn't the lowest, they were the most comprehensive. For example, all of the other quotes quoted the shingles and work, but JJ Construction quoted shingles, tiles, gutters, and all hardware (new fans/vents/gutters). They are highly skilled. They did not rush the project (who wants a roofer who rushes?) and cleaned up every day. Communication was excellent. They installed Class 4 shingles, which lowered my home owners insurance by 20%. We selected D-Wing to replace our roof, gutters and to do some trim work on our house and we had…read moretwo issues that occurred during this experience that I wanted to share: Issue One: When we signed the contract and gave them their deposit our salesperson (John) said it should be about two and half weeks for them to get the project started. After five weeks lapsed without any contact or updates from D-Wing, I reached out. They then informed us that they were ready to start the following week. Although weather caused an additional delay, communication remained sparse and unreliable throughout the project. For a job costing nearly $12,000 expecting basic customer service and timely updates does not seem unreasonable, but D-Wing appears to operate differently. Issue Two: For our gutter installation we requested a larger sized downspout be used because of ongoing clogging issues. This type of downspout requires a specific transition nozzle to fit the gutter properly in certain situations. The D-Wing crew or subcontractor choose not to use the correct transition nozzle and connected the widest part of the downspout to narrowest part of the gutter. As a result, all three front downspouts extended beyond the gutter base, leaving a gap about two inches open and exposed at the connection. When I questioned D-Wing about this, they said the connection was proper and commonly used. I then sent them an example of the transition nozzle that should have been installed, but they continued to defend their method. After I pressed the issue, they offered only to bend and modify the installed downspouts (aka "Jerry-rigged") rather than use the correct nozzle. This response seems very unprofessional for an established contracting company. And D-Wing never resolved the issue satisfactorily. I apologize for being a little wordy, I was trying to be thorough and helpful. Hopefully, you all have better luck finding a contractor...Be careful.

We had Siding and Windows Group come out among a batch of 4 other companies for a roof and siding…read morereplacement after last August's hail damage. Here's how they stood out: They had excellent communication. From Angelo's estimate all the way to passing inspection, they were on top of their game. The estimate had every combination of options listed with exactly what they were going to do and photos of the planned work. We were assigned a field supervisor (Justin, I believe?) who would come out on the same day to inspect any issues we brought up. Our contact with the office via Cindy and Anthony was also superb and always timely. The work was done swiftly and well. The roofers were done before I got back from work. Siding and gutters are more involved, but they did excellent there as well and Roman et al. were excellent to work with, took feedback very well (see communication above), and were very hard and efficient workers. All in all, we were done with our project long before other houses in the same subdivision who had all signed up with doorknocker companies, and they delivered a high level of quality. To be clear, their estimate was slightly higher (my gut says 10% higher, but it's been a while since I reviewed the proposals) than some other offers we received, but for the work that we were doing, level of customization, and communication, we wouldn't make a different choice. I can't say I was thrilled when we were in the middle of a bathroom renovation and already pouring…read moreway too much $ for our home and we discovered (thanks to a few rainy days) that we needed new french doors leading out to our backyard. I'm usually not one to spend time getting a bunch of quotes and just rely on Yelp reviews to make a purchasing decision, but this was pricey enough purchase that i figured I should do my due diligence.' Siding & Windows Group was one of the 4 companies I had come out for a quote. We ended up with them for a few reasons: - Their quote was competitive - They were able to spray paint the interior trim with our existing paint color - They were able to match the exterior trim as closely as possible to our windows outside - Anthony at Siding & Windows Group was very responsive We placed the order on August 22nd, which is my bday. I can't say new doors was what i wanted for my bday, but i guess this is being a homeowner in your 40s. The new doors weren't installed until November 6th and we just hoped for no big storms and got lucky. Anthony checked in a few times on when they'd be installed and pushed it back a few days due to other projects. The actual installation took about a day, which wasn't too bad. A week later they came to spray paint, which honestly seemed like a much bigger project than installing the doors. That took 2 days and went smoothly, although there was a little confusion about them not knowing what color to paint, etc. It turned out beautifully and while the doors look very similar to our old doors I like the look of these even better. The exterior finish isn't a perfect match, but i think a big part of that is our old paint on our windows as faded. One day we'll touch it all up, but for now we're looking forward to a break in paying for anything for the house. I learned there are a lot of companies in the area for new windows/doors, but we were satisfied with this one and would use them again.
