The situation : I had a small leak from the roof to my bedroom. I've checked yelp for a roofer and I saw Affordable. 5-stars review on most seems too good to be true, but took a chance. But call them and found that they were professional, helpful and got the job done. Why not 5-stars, they quote 2 persons job and only one guy came out. Appointment and initial service : 5 Stars Initial appointment was easy and quick. The initial call to was helpful and easy. He came out and look at my deck and gave me an estimates on the spot. Quoted fixing the leak area and "maintenance on other area" Time of work : 4 Stars The estimated a day to 4-5 hours work to be completed with 2 man crew, but only one came out. Dunno why but they got the job done in half a day. Quality of work: 4 Stars They took care of the deck just as they quoted. Quality of work overall is good just by virtue of no more leaks. But no way to verify if maintenance work is done Pricing: 4 Stars I do believe they are at the reasonable end of the cost structure. The pricing seems honest and fair. Can I find someone cheaper for sure but these guys seems to be good. Bottomline : - I think they do a good job and will most likely return to them if I need other services or repairs on roof. Can't do 0 stars. Shoddy work. Demanded up front payment took whole insurance check. Switched materials for a fraction of the cost without consulting. The only suggestion I have is to choose any other contractor. They are thieves. read more

Adorable Roofing did fine with the roof , but they stripped our house of aluminum siding and tried to put on vinyl without consulting. The told me I had to sign my insurance check over to them before they started the work. When they didn't complete the work they took 10,000 dollars more then what the quote was on the insurance. My insurance guy told me they had the were on the same page with cost. read more

Had a leak in our upstairs ceiling and called for an inspection. Their rep came out and told me the leaks were coming from my roof. They also told me I needed a whole new roof. So, I called the original installer (Safeguard Construction) and they identified the actual source of the leak in the attic-it turned out those ceilings are up against the attic and don't even touch the roof! Safeguard also told me my roof is fine-and still under warranty. Be careful with these guys! read more

I had a section of shingles blow off my roof. Called Affordable Roofing who quoted a reasonable price and came out THE NEXT DAY! Not only did the employee inspect the issue he fixed it immediately (I had extra shingles for the job). Most notable was how personable and proud of his work the employee was (I think his name was Javier).... An excellent employee! I would absolutely recommend this company based on price, responsiveness, and professionalism! read more

Our roof was damaged by the Memorial Day hail storm. Isaac was my salesperson and he provided us with a prompt estimate and a good price. I got estimates from a couple of companies and I chose Affordable because of their good reviews and because Isaac was so awesome about answering my questions. We had a lot of skylights on our house and wrestled with the decision to replace them or remove them. I had soooo many questions and Isaac was super patient about answering all of them and providing prices for our different options. We made the decision to remove the skylights. Some of them were on the ceiling above our newly remodeled kitchen and I didn't want any debris falling and hitting cabinets, etc. Isaac was super responsive and came in and nailed up plywood to catch the falling debris. The guys removed ten skylights and no interior damage. Cheryl, in the office, is also very nice and helpful. We wanted to go look at roofs in the colors we were considering and she was very helpful in giving us addresses. Seeing the roofs in real life is important because they look a lot different than what you see in a sample. We are really happy with the work Affordable did and with how our new roof looks. Fast and friendly service. We had shingles fly off during a storm (as did our neighbor) and they responded out the next business day. I had a roof leak which I did not know about until rainwater began leaking through the ceiling. I had two different roof companies come to look at the roof and neither could find the source of the problem. So I had a siding company come and look at it and they said there was no way it could be the siding. It was definitely the roof. I made two more attempts to get a roofing company come to look at it. The first one said they were not taking any more customers. Finally, less than a week later, Isaac called back, asked me some questions, and said he could come and look at it that day. When he arrived, I was greeted with a smile and a handshake. I showed him where the leak was coming through the ceiling. He took pictures of the ceiling and asked more questions. I explained the situation and how no one could seem to figure out the problem. He said that he loves to take on a challenge. Then he actually went up into the attic (something none of the other roofers that inspected the leak did) and took more pictures. He also noticed some spots that were lacking in insulation and gave me a recommendation that they be insulated so that I would not lose any more heat in the house. He then went outside and inspected that entire area and found that whoever previously roofed the house did a very poor job. He gave me an estimate for the repairs which seemed very reasonable. I told him that I would call the landlord and get back to him. He left me his business card and a copy of the estimate form. After a week, I called to set up the repair. I spoke with Isaac and he said they were busy but they had someone out in the area and could send him out afterwards if they had time. I thought it might be a couple of weeks but then, after a couple of hours, I get a phone call that someone could come out and do the needed repairs that afternoon. This time I was greeted with a smile and a handshake by Sam. It took him about an hour to do the needed repairs. He quickly cleaned up, had me sign the service form and thanked me. Thanked me? Thank you Affordable Roofing! To summarize, I was extremely pleased with their customer service and professionalism. They were able to pinpoint and fix the problem which shows a very high level of competency and skill. This is a company that goes above and beyond for customer satisfaction. read more

We had our roof reached in Carriageway drive. Had 2 small leaks. We had 15 major leaks afterwards. The owner had the nerve to tell me that we had leaks before and it wasn't his fault. He subcontracted to Summit Roofing that did replace any plywood and destroyed all of the plants by driving over them. He told me I did not understand the situation about the leaks. I am president of the board. I knew every facet of the situation. I have 10k in damage in my unit alone. Don't believe the reviews on Yelp. They are friends and family. He won't turn in the claim to his insurance company and insurance company won't cover due to poor workmanship. This guy is a complete idiot. We have to sue him. I am doing a separate lawsuit for my unit since I know have mold and have been sick ever since. The worst experience of my life. Our property manager has been in her position for 40 years and this is the first time she has to sue a company for their work. Our community was hit hard last year during the hail storm which a lot of people in my community replaced their roof. So I did some research and found Isaac at affordable roofing. He worked with me and my insurance company to get my new roof covered and replaced! I also had another small problem with a leak in a window and Isaac personally came out and did some repair work. I had a roof leak that I wanted checked out. Isaac examined the area and around as well. He took pictures and showed me the problem. For good measure he checked the chimney as well and though it wasn't a roofing problem, explained the wear and tear that was inevitably happening. He didn't hurry me, even when I indicated that I would probably get the people who recently installed my roof to do the additional work for me, hopefully for free. I called Affordable Roofing for a quote. I gave my address in downers grove and was informed that I lived outside of the area that they work on asphalt roofs. Could not believe the answer - checked the distance on google maps. - I live 19 miles from their address! I guess if you do not live within a few blocks of their shop you should not bother calling. Too bad for them. I have a 3600 sq ft roof - not a small job and can be done now or in the spring...... but they never even got past informing me that I lived outside their service area. I guess I should consider myself lucky to be treated that rudely - can't imagine the trouble I would have had chasing down repairs. read more

WOW--I am so impressed! Tom came out and found I had a very small problem, not the extensive problem I was concerned about having. He told me how to have my handyman fix it, saving me the cost of having his crew come out. He also checked out the roof I'd had put on a few years ago, and says it will last 30 years. Affordable Roofing was recommended to me as being very good and very honest, and I see it's true. I know nothing about the condition of my roof and gutters. We used Affordable Roofing to replace our roof almost two years ago. I know I left an outstanding review for them then. A few weeks ago when we had those torrential, slanting rains, our north windows leaked. Our house is 19 years old. Issac climbed up there once again and discovered flashing (and whatever else) was peeling and/or missing. We got our estimate and a short time later (lots of people needed roofs!!), Giovanni and Danny came and spent 5 hours repairing the windows. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and skilled. After the storms we had out here in Aurora in 2013, we noticed a leak in our roof. I called dozens of roof repair shops, and waited days to hear back from anyone. Mike and the team got back to us within minutes of contacting them, set up an appointment, and was out in 3 days. (and only b/c the weather would not allow sooner.) The pricing was outstanding, and he was so pleasant and easy to work with. Great suggestions and ways to keep the costs down. Their office staff is outstanding as well. Originally, we had planned to work at home the day of the repair - just in case they needed us - but the office staff told us that was probably not a good idea, unless we want to hear banging all day.
